I listed/relisted a few things this weekend, and shipped off a small item that I sold (for a bit more than I expected). Still have one thing off at consignment-may talk to them about lowering the price. I should get paid for the consignment item that sold 12/31 sometime this week. So I feel productive with sales. Probably have 3-4 more bags I should list. If I sell everything, and keeping in mind my planned purchases for the year, that should put me at or close to my 12 bag goal by the end of the year.
Yay for selling!

I still use the saffaino coach tote when I take him to practice, just not to all these competitions. At the competitions my art stuff stays home it's too crowded. I bring a book , phone , glasses, keys ,water bottle , and a small snack and my wallet. If it's a varsity meet it is only about two hours, so for those I might try the wristlet . For the other meets they last 4 to 5 hours and I need all the above. I see Renza's point about carrying my bags more, but this crazy amount of competitions is only for about three months and I love my mz Wallace's to much have to deal with people spilling sodas on them etc. Most people are pretty nice at these things but it is a tight squeeze with lots of people standing and sitting cheering with drinks and food.
I get that. You have to do what works best for you, and that does sound very messy. :smile1:

Love the quote, the MG, and the Neo! Is your Neo navy or purple.

It's the navy blue but I actually think it's between cobalt and navy--it is very rich in person and I've had several people comment on this bag. The strap is so comfortable for cross body but it still looks a bit more dressed up when I need it to. It's an ideal all around bag-and I feel like this color goes with anything!

Tuuli35, really like your LP.

TejasMama, gorgeous Le Pliage Neo. Thank you for the MG review. It's a bag I really like, but so hard to get!

Denverite, welcome back. I am so sorry that your dog passed away last year. I remember you because of your member name. I grew up in Denver.

dcooney, my knock around bag is also my nylon Le Pliage. I also have a Coach black canvas monogram hobo with leather shoulder strap that is pretty indestructible. This bag actually got wet once and I put it back in my closet not realizing this. It smelled so strongly of mildew that it was not usable. I tried remedies I found online and on tpf; none of them worked. So I ran it through my washing machine on the hand wash cycle (crazy I know) and it came out beautifully. I applied some leather conditioner to the strap, although it really didn't look like it needed it.

I know some may worry that I should not be allowed to have nice bags after that story!! Overall, I am really careful with my bags though, lol!

Today I kept it really simple. LV mini pochette with dragonne, wrist strap which has made it super functional for me! Inside Jacobs by Marc Jacobs card case (cheapie thing from the MbMJ store) and my new H Silk'In coin purse/compact wallet that I adore!View attachment 2851405

Gorgeous Mimmy!!

Thank you so much thedseer! Not to go totally off topic but after the passing of our dog, DH and I were able to rescue a dog from a shelter a few months ago and we just love him to pieces! It has definitely helped with the grief. The shelter told us he was 4 years old, but the vet thinks he's just over a year. Nobody is certain as to what kind he is, but it doesn't really matter to us! Here's our new addition :)

Welcome back! I'm very sorry for your loss but your new little pup is so cute! So glad he's helped you and dh and yay for rescuing him!

Sounds like you have made some more progress--I hope your other items sell well. I terms of counting your items, do you include every single item? For me, I don't include my Longchamp totes because I use them so often for travel and work. Ditto with my cheapie totes/etc. When I do bag totals, I'm thinking traditional bags with a bit of value. I have some other inexpensive messenger bags (from Target and such) that I love but don't count because they are small and have a specific purpose.

Thanks, all! Feels good to start clearing out again.

I do the same. I exclude my Le Pliages...I have 5 and realistically will pick up a couple more at some point. I also don't count my less expensive/nondesigner bags. I usually get one or two as gifts every year from MIL or friends. These don't last forever (assuming they are non leather, which most are), so I don't have to worry about them accumulating at least. I have 4 of these currently, I believe.

If you have so many wallets may be it should be one of those things that you admire but don't need to get. It is a cute wallet ,but I find I use a smaller but easier to use brighton wallet more.
I have a few that are of similar styles so I technically can let those 'extras' go but I'm a bit attached at the moment. I'd like to get a little more variety so if I let those go and get the zcp it would serve 2 purposes - minimize and get a good mix. We'll see, I'm in no hurry right now.

Ok , I did not think about the fact that the new bag I returned actually was to serve the purpose of going to sporting events and being able to hold up to serious abuse. The new bag I bought is to pretty and I don't want to chance it being knocked on to the floor by someone getting up and down in the bleachers. So today I will be bringing my Mz Wallace Baby Jane in charcoal luster with me. I'm sure this bag can handle it but I hate bringing anything much over a hundred dollars to these things. Here a picture of her. What do you use for these kind of events?
I use crossbody bags and never put them down, or just a reusable grocery bag but the better quality kind that r a bit more sturdier.
Okay I need to try this. I generally do not make New Years Resolutions but how about a promise to TRY to myself and my husband! Lol. Sorry have to go back where I started this madness.

2012-2013

What happen: quite a few impulse bag purchases - that left me quite discontent.

2014

What happen: Sold a lot of bags and purchased more bags that fit my life style that I Loved! Went better about my bag purchases by researching bags, not buying the first time I saw and watching reviews here and you tube. Very helpful! I started a new trend of looking at a few bags for at least a month before I purchased so this way I would be sure. I'd get a list of bags I was interested in go to the boutique and have them pull all of them out for me to try by putting my things inside and modeling. I eliminated some bags and maybe even added a few more. Left the Boutique to sleep on it a few days. Return again and repeat the same process - leave again empty handed and wait a few days or longer. I look up the bags on You tube, images to see how they look on others, read any reviews I can find, search here of TPF and maybe start a thread to ask questions. Then I go back and make my purchase. I found that the bags I purchased at first glance are the bags I ended up selling - such a waste of money. The bags I research and took time to buy I know are my keepers.

2015

My plan: I finally received my HG bag so not to sure where you go form there! I do however have a great sense of contentment which is a really good feeling. I do not feel the need to buy a bag even though I may peruse the LV sight or see many beautiful reveals here. I have a very well rounded collection and have reached my bag max I set. I have decided that I WILL enjoy the bags I currently have with no plans to make a bag purchase in the year of 2015 and I am going to try my best to not even think about a purchase until this time next year. I made one last purchase Friday for a black MC cles which will be discontinued soon and a red bag charm. So really if I do make a purchase it will be small but I also realize even those purchases add up. So I think this will be my last SLG too. Okay wish me luck and strong resistance as this bag thing can be very dangerous!

Good luck all on your goals as well.
from the sounds of it, it seems like you're in good shape to reach ur goal!

:p

That sound like a solid plan egg! Good for you! Have you used your blue(?) epi wallet much? If not, you should break that gorgeous thing out!!! ;)

I just got my zcp in Nov. (b-day present) and I really love it. I am a one wallet gal (read: too lazy to switch wallets) so this is my everyday wallet. I don't carry a ton of cards or use cash often, so this style works well for me. I'd be happy to take a pic of the inside if you want. I did look at the zcw while I was at LV and it is awesome, but way more space than I need. Plus the zcp fits into my smallest bag no problem.
I used her for over a month when I got her and she'll be back into rotation soon! Can't wait, she's one of my faves!
Quick grocery store run with my Linea Pelle wristlet wallet, perfect color for gray, ugly weather and great size, even my phone fits in there.
Happy Sunday!

So happy looking! I love the pink and the gold hardware. Or is it rosegold? Either way, lovely!
Has anyone made any changes to their closet or other habits to make shopping in your closet more attractive? I sold off a number of bags this past year and now have all my favorite bags in my closet on an organizer shelf where I can see them. It really helps remind me of my options. Also, it seems the fewer bags I have ,the more I feel I have? Does this make any sense at all?

I read a quote that said something to the effect of "the best way to make sure you enjoy your favorite things each day is to only own your favorite things." I find a lot of truth in this.

The last couple months I have been carrying these two bags almost exclusively--my Mansur Gavriel bucket bag and my Longchamp Le Pliage Neo. The LC is a darker blue than pictured--it's really gorgeous. I took it on a trip to Tokyo last month and was the perfect bag. We did a lot of walking and train travel and it was perfect. Now I'm having a hard time changing out between these two--it reminds me that I really don't need that many bags to begin with when I look at what I actually reach for when I head out the door.

BTW--does anyone know why my pics keep rotating? Ugh!
That's a grt quote and so true! Having all my pics on stylebook is nice and when I feel an urge to buy something, I flip through it and am reminded of the nice things I already have and I usually don't want said thing any more. And I always think of what I have similar to whaat I want and I can usually find something that works.
O.K. Another one late to the party, here goes!

2014-Cleared out closet of underused/unused clothes, shoes and bags. First 8-9 months did great on low buy (mostly because no time between work and family obligations) Then...around October/November I went on a buying binge!! Mostly clothes and bags.
Last purchase was December 29th. I bought the LV Totally PM. Help! (I do love it though)

2015-New here, have been lurking for a couple of days and you dear friends have given me many wonderful ideas and incentives.
I will shop from my purse closet and swap out more often. Luckily I'm a one wallet woman so that makes it easier.
Would like to buy one bag this year, a crossbody. Not sure yet, but really like the LV Eva? What do you think?

Also like the idea of taking pics of outfits each day. Would like to do a no/low buy on clothes. (only need work out stuff and undies)

As far as shoes I'm set for life. LOL Have over a hundred pair. Just need to replace workout tennis every few months.

:D
Thanks everyone! And good luck to us all!!!
welcome! And grt goals! We're here to help :)

Hi again ladies! :flowers:

I joined this thread at the beginning of the year last year and then had a pretty rough summer (my dog that I loved to death passed away right before my 30th birthday and I took it really hard) and didn't keep up. :shucks: Things are definitely much better now, so I plan to participate again! :smile1: I looked at the thread from last year and my goal was to:

"In 2014, I'm hoping to not sell anything and to add 2 or 3 bags that are well thought out. I am going to be searching for a LV Leopard Speedy on the pre-loved market (only at a good price) and I'll be buying a new LV Tivoli PM for my 30th birthday (eek!). I will be very interested to see at the end of next year how I do. I'm hoping this thread will keep me accountable!"

I did get my Leopard Speedy at a good price (yay!) in January 2014 and ended up getting an LV Artsy for my birthday. My birthday was in June and I got the bag in April (of course lol) and I haven't bought a bag since then. I can't even believe it! I have bought a few SLG's and an LV Leopard Stole (which add up, I understand), but no bags!

I did sell a couple of bags, Black Bal PT and AW Rocco, so here's my collection as it stands right now. Very small, but I'm very happy with it:

RM Black Cat MAB
RM Plum MAM w/ Rosegold HW
LV Mono Artsy
LV Leopard Speedy (my favorite)
LV Graffiti Speedy
LV DE Speedy 35

This year, I'm hoping to add a Neverfull and maybe one other bag, either a Givenchy Antigona, RM Black MAM/MAB with rosegold, or maybe a Chloe Paraty? I will be getting the Neverfull for sure since I don't have any totes, and clearly am undecided if I really want/need a second bag for the year. I also have a few smaller purchases on my wishlist: a cosmetic bag, Milla pochette, a cles, and maybe another leopard stole. I'm also going to try to not sell anything again this year since I really do love my collection. I'm hoping this thread will keep me accountable. Sorry for the long post and thanks for reading! :smile1:
Welcome back! Sorry to hear about ur dog *hugs* - mine also passed away last year the day after my 30th birthday and another earlier in the yr. You've grown a beautiful collection and I can't wait to see your beautiful leopard speedy again - sooo gorgeous.
Tuuli35, really like your LP.

This might be aa weird suggestion, but do u think getting a pre-loved mz wallace might help? Still the grt bag u love, but if you can get it cheaper and broken in, would it alleviate some of the worries with it? There r some LV bags that I'm contemplating getting preowned for that reason because knowing myself, think I would freak out if I got a scratch on it, but if it's already broken in, somehow I feel it's ok.

Thanks Denverite! Thanks for reminding me about an iPhone 6 not fitting in this. I guess that would be a reason to get a new bag!

Ohh, this little dog just melts my heart!

Thanks dcooney!

Thanks lou! I've been carrying some of my smaller bags now. I used to look like I was prepared for the apocalypse!

Lol! I love that. I'm mostly prepared a apocalypse at all times with my Coach tote. It's always in the car with kid stuff. This is one I don't really count in my bag collection because of its use.

Wow this thread moves fast.

I'm late to the party also, but my goals this year:

I spent an insane amount of money on bags, clothes and shoes in 2014. Probably the most expensive thing I bought was my Coach embossed woven mini Riley, but I just bought a LOT of stuff. And I haven't quite worked out yet how well I chose, but I'm pretty sure I've made some mistakes.

My goal for 2015 is to use every item in my closet - clothes, purses, shoes, wristlets. Jewelry would be nice too but I won't stress too much about that. Maybe 2016 for that. I'm hoping to figure out what can go and what I holes I need to fill.

I'm not really sure about buying bags this year. I have some other things to do with my money. I still want a Balenciaga, but I'm not sure I'm going to get it. I'm going to get my paralegal certificate in December, so maybe for that. I don't know. Spending that much on a bag is still a bit beyond me. I don't really know what I'm going to do as far as buying anything. Except a pair of black boots.

I like the idea of taking pictures of my outfits each day. Maybe I'll try to do that.

Welcome to the group! Love to the see the Riley. This group is amazing and so very supportive. Please share your goodies you have in your closet!
