I'm still waiting on my dinky 24 in butterscotch to ship. I'm hoping it will shop tomorrow. I ordered it about 1am on Saturday. I keep checking my order status and nothing yet, still says processing. Wanting it so badly!!

What photos do need to show it's for authentication? It's simple a case of not knowing.
It depends on the item and when it was made. It's explained in the first post of the Authenticate This Coach thread: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.889527/
Coach stopped putting creeds with the real numbers on them for awhile; now they are back to having normal creeds. If you have one of those "nonsense" creeds that has two letters and a dash, the real creed number is on a label inside the pocket. We need to see both the creed and this tag, and if there is a "made in" tag, that is sometimes helpful as well.

As an authenticator, it concerns me that you don't have the photos necessary for authentication. Many people will pass up your listings if this information isn't included.

By the way, those stock photos belong to Coach. Unless they gave you permission to use them, you are violating their copyright.

Whateve, please help me to understand the ebay rules of using 'stock' photos.....here is what I see on ebay...

"FAQs
  • Should I use the stock photo? How do I add it to my listing?
For many new products, such as electronics, we can help you with a photo and description. If your item is used, be sure to use your own photos to show any flaws or unique features of your item."

Does this mean that if you are listing a pre-loved/used item that your first photo CANNOT be a stock photo?
They really don't clarify this and I'm wondering if one could use a stock photo as their primary photo and then use their own personal photos as the rest?

When I was selling quite a bit on ebay, the rules were fairly strict with regards to photos esp. for pre-owned items that are not electronics. Even brand new in the box things such as handbags, scarves, shoes, etc. It is required you use your own photos of the item you are selling- no stock photos. Especially do not use another seller's photos of the same item without express permission as technically they are copyrighted. Bottomline- unless it is a piece of equipment, you have to use your own photos and you must disclose any defects. No stock photos of handbags.

The way I understand it is it depends on the category. If you sell books or electronics, ebay has a library of stock photos you can use. I don't believe they provide stock photos of purses.
Also it doesn't matter if it is your first photo or your last, if you don't own the photo or have been permission to use it, you are violating copyright law. The exception is using the photos in ebay's library.

There's a Western Whiplash Rogue in Prussian up if anyone's looking.
Devastation: Finding a perfect mineral Whiplash saddle bag at Saks Off Fifth priced lower than in the summer sale, going back to get it after 2 weeks only to find it is now flawed from handling! The end whipstitching had come undone [emoji24]
I'm appreciating the ebay discussion - I'm swimming in bags but really want a Rogue 25.

Love all the comments here on eBay selling -- I've sold as well and the posts here are dead on. One other suggestion for an avenue for selling, other than Craigslist.... go to Facebook and see if your market has a "garage sale" or similar type of venue to sell. It will say something like "(your city) Friends Garage Sale" or similar title. Depending on the age and value of what you're trying to sell, it may be an option. My other addiction is knitting -- yarn and bags, I tell my husband! (At least I'm producing lots of pretty things!) There is a Facebook page called "Yarn Hoarders Destash" page, to sell excess yarn and I've had success in both of these types of venues. Usually these are closed groups and you have to request to join in, and in some cases there are very strict rules about posting -- photos, details in the listings, etc. but I really like them -- no nonsense, list the item clearly, mark as sold and move on. There may be a Coach selling page on there, I think I looked briefly but never seriously found one. I should look again! There's also Tradesy, the Real Real, Thread UP and others, depending on the value of your item, but I've never sold on these last few sites. Good luck!
