Agreed...I bought them about two months ago . I didn't even think about asking for a price adjustment (wondering if it is too late?).
I think 60 days is out of price adjustment range, which stinks because that is so close to this sale. I wouldn't like that either. Do you have a S.A. that you work with and know? She/He may be able to do something?

Devil's advocate here:

Coach included 1941 bags in the Fall semi-annual sale. I've heard my SA say many times that 1941 styles will be excluded from coupon events, but they'll be marked down at the end of the season.

There were a handful of Rogues included in the Fall semi-annual, but they did sell fast. I believe that the inclusion of so many Rogues and 1941 bags is simply because many people already have a Rogue (or Dinky, or Saddle Bag, etc.), and most people won't buy the "seasonal" versions right away at retail price. Most shoppers know that these gets marked down at the end of the season. I don't see many solid color, regular leather 1941 bags on sale (there are some Dinky bags and Duffle). In addition, most of the RTW items on sale have the majority of the sizes sold out. So that's a good sign.

Overall, I think Coach still over-produces, but I hope they're working on tweaking their production algorithm until there is less excess when sale season starts.

Agreed. The end of season sale is a staple with most designer brands--Bottega Veneta_, Burberry_, Fendi_, Givenchy_, Prada_, Proenza Schouler_, Saint Laurent_, etc. I never buy seasonal colors or designs from any designer brand unless I love, love, love it and can't live without it. Seasonal items go on sale.

I like that Coach_if finally following a similar strategy for the 1941 line, it's given me some confidence in purchases.

Looking over the 1941 line, I would say that the only items that are unlikely to go to sale (unless there is a significant design change) are the permanent collection styles and colors--Rogue, Rogue 25, Saddle 23, Dinky (regular size), and Duffle in the regular glove tanned leather in black, chalk, saddle, bordeaux and tea rose in black or chalk. Any other color or incarnation (whipstitch, exotic, hair calk, link, etc.) will go on sale unless the item is so hot it sells out.

All of the new runway styles (Bandit for instance) or anything with embellishments (exotic, hair calf, fringe, studs, links, dinosaurs, NASA, etc.) will go on sale unless they sell out, which based on history doesn't seem to happen very often. And, of course, anything that doesn't sell out during the end of season sale will go to the outlet. It's inevitable.

On the topic of the sale, I'm on a serious ban (including a major bag re-homing project!) so i am looking but probably not going to buy anything from the 1941 line...but I may pick up something like a scarf or a bracelet.

Great analysis- well-said.

From Coach's website:

This is exactly what I think. Some glove tanned leather bags have made it to the outlets and you can get them on department store sales.

I bought two saddle bags (23) in denim blue and bordeaux last week from Farfetch for their private access sale - 50% off! The leather is so smooth and beautiful
these are the two i am looking at (as gifts). i didn't realize they go on sale.
how do i determine what the inside color of a saddle bag is... coach does not provide interior shots for all colors??

I have picked up a couple of glove tanned items at the outlet but they were all in seasonal color (azure, azure patchwork, etc.) but never have seen a Rogue at the outlet.

Next time I catch a department store opportunity for the Rogue in either chalk or saddle I am going to jump on it. :p

My closest boutique is an hour away, and I just happened to be in town today, so I stopped in to see if they had anything I had picked out online from the sale. My favorite associate (assistant manager actually) was working, and when we were talking about the sale and I mentioned I had a few small things in my cart I came in to see if they had in store, and she was surprised that I was able to see all the items that would be on sale. She said they just got a line list, so it was kind of hard for them to know what all would be included if they didn't read each item line by line. I pulled out my phone, pulled up the sale on the website and we spent almost an hour scrolling through everything. lol

I fell in love the the olive green suede fringe Rogue. I've been looking at the Rogues lately, because I REALLY want one, and I would have never even given this one a second look based on the website pictures. It is absolutely beautiful in person. I may have loved it so much just because it worked perfectly with what I was wearing today. lol

Enjoy the bag.

By the way, I have an whole thread on this bag. It's so awesome I love it. It's so under appreciated because photos don't do it justice. I put it in the same group as my Anna Sui coach dragonfly, Carloline Vechatta and Gathered Madison Shoulder bag as my HG.

Thanks for the info... I think I am still going to inquire if there is anything they may be able to do.
