Plus a salesperson is there to SELL, right? So whether it's the truth or not that the bags will never go on sale they're merely telling the customer what they think they want to hear, right? Not to sound cynical or anything.

Yeah I would say it's irresponsible for them to 'guarantee' that something won't happen, but it's their job to sell the bags. And honestly I've missed out on countless bags waiting for a possible discount. In my opinion, if you want the bag just get it :)

I'm so tempted by the Beatnik Rivets Rogue 25, but all the talk about rivets tarnishing or falling off is kind of scaring me away. Also, there's a regular Rogue for just slightly more and Satchels for almost $100 less. (And we're trying to pay *down* debt, not add more. >.>)

Decisions!
I have the beatnik one & love it. I've noticed no tarnishing but know that I can take it in for cleaning if need be. No need yet...looks brand new.
Still...decisions

Thanks goodness I got my 1st generation Rogues and other 1941 items with PCE and friends and family discounts so I never paid full price for this collection. The only exception was for the Disney collection, but the items I bought sold out and never made it to any sales. I think people on here forgot about the early discounts.
I too never paid full price for any of the regular size Coach rogues I own (just 3) with the dept. store promotions. I paid full price for the pop-up minis and for my rexys and the boutique Disney. Honestly, it took the Disney collection to even make me look at Coach again. I had not bought Coach for decades. It is such a turn-off that most of it goes on sale or to outlets. I was once asked to be part of a LV focus group and was asked what would turn me off the brand, and I immediately responded "if LV started appearing at outlet malls or were put on sale". I think most people hate to spend full retail only to see it marked down if you wait.

There are some adorable items upcoming for fall so I will not say never, but I do not foresee myself handing over big bucks for Coach at full retail.

I appreciate your honest feedback. It does not bother me so much. I feel as thought that I get some great discounts on items that were deleted, so they offset the items I paid full price, which is not many.

Also, I have a feeling Coach may starting selling their extra inventory and seasonal bags through boutique sales instead of sending them to the outlet. We will have to wait and see.

Hello, wanted to gain some thoughts on the 1941 pieces on sale, especially the rogue going on sale. Honestly, I am so glad some of you got such a deal but I am put off by the sale. I purchased some of these pieces months ago after being told by sales associates the 1941 collection never goes on sale, especially the rogue. I've been burned by coach in the past this way and swore never to pay full price at a boutique again until the 1941 collection came along and I was promised it would be different. These bags are at such a high price point I have decided again never to buy full price at coach boutique. Does anyone have similar thoughts or have a different perspective? thanks!
So I have to be honest. My first thought when my sales associate told me about the sale and the 1941 collection being included was irritation. She had also told me months ago that they were going to avoid putting these items on sale especially the Rogue which I have three of. My SA said that the company got a lot of feedback from customers saying they don't want to see these items going on sale. That being said I can see how some of the items they have for sale could be considered seasonal. It would have irritated me more if my bags were included in the sale, but they weren't. I almost missed out on the first generation cornflour which I loved more than anything so if I see something that I really want, I don't pass it up. But I have learned from this week that I probably will not buy another one at full price unless I feel like I cannot live without it.

I have 6 rogues, 2 with PCE, 1 with F&F, 1 on sale at Macy's. Bought one full price and had one made to order. None of the ones I own are in this sale. It didn't bother me to pay for them then and I wear them all the time. It's a bag that will never look dated....im good. Stuff goes on sale. I can't and won't get worked up about it, they're just handbags. [emoji5]

I had this very conversation with my Sales Manager when I picked up my green suede rouge yesterday. You are correct, that is their plan.

The other thing we talked about was what will go on sale and what won't from the 1941 line. Her take and what I noticed is bags that sell well wont go on sale. Seasonal and more trendy items will go on sale. - the suede fringe is not a classic item and neither were the Rivits or Western Embriodied - so that is the type of stuff that will go on sale. She said she doubted the Beechwood would go on sale because it's selling well and the color is a classic.

Yeah I've noticed that for the Dinky, there are only 1 or 2 colors on sale. Hoping the cornflower will go on sale but I doubt it will /sigh

It explains why both of my outlets have very small delete sections lately, when they used to have a lot of inventory. They both told me they have not been receiving many deletes lately.

your very fortunate to have money to that. I lost about 1000 dollars not buying in this current sale. Your right they are just handbags... but to me 1000 dollars is a lot of money I could've used for something else

I'm not saying $1000 isn't a lot of money, because it is. Did you buy the bags recently enough that you could get a price adjustment?
I guess what I'm trying to say is I cannot let myself be upset or stressed over things I have no control of.

Devil's advocate here:

Coach included 1941 bags in the Fall semi-annual sale. I've heard my SA say many times that 1941 styles will be excluded from coupon events, but they'll be marked down at the end of the season.

There were a handful of Rogues included in the Fall semi-annual, but they did sell fast. I believe that the inclusion of so many Rogues and 1941 bags is simply because many people already have a Rogue (or Dinky, or Saddle Bag, etc.), and most people won't buy the "seasonal" versions right away at retail price. Most shoppers know that these gets marked down at the end of the season. I don't see many solid color, regular leather 1941 bags on sale (there are some Dinky bags and Duffle). In addition, most of the RTW items on sale have the majority of the sizes sold out. So that's a good sign.

Overall, I think Coach still over-produces, but I hope they're working on tweaking their production algorithm until there is less excess when sale season starts.

I totally understand that. I've been there too many times. With Coach follow your gut. Once, they are 5 or 6 generations in, believe that the more expensive it gets, the morel likely it is that they will go on sale. Coach has a base of customers like myself, that love the leather and the quality, and we but the first run bags. But as they spin past the basic colors, sizes and shapes, the quality starts to dip and the gimmicks begin. Those bags are usually the ones that will be on sale. Rule of thumb, only buy one or two items from each line, no matter what, there are too many resellers and discount sites to invest too much in one line. Plus Coach always has so much going on anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge coach fan, I only carry their bags and have over a hundred bought over many, many years but they can get a little out there. So beware.
Great advice

Agreed...I bought them about two months ago . I didn't even think about asking for a price adjustment (wondering if it is too late?).
