Hi, I have large C19 and mine is even less than 18 inches. I bought it new in Saks, not preloved. It could be that sometimes people refer to medium as large, not sure. I think strap on the medium is longer than the one on the large.
Hiya, do you wear yours crossbody? My large sits awkwardly when worn crossbody so I’ve been wearing it on the shoulder / by hand (not my preference…!) I’ve seen a lot of posts on strap shortening but was wondering if you knew how I could extend my strap…

hello! i was trying to find how to store the chanel 19 chain strap with stuffing pillow because I just couldn’t squeeze the chain strap in.

How do you store the chain strap? thanks in advance. With my 19 bags I put the chain strap inside (twisted once so the chain of the leather part is facing down and rests on the bottom of the bag and then add tissue stuffing for support. I would not want any part of the strap near the flap when storing it.

thank you! i used to store this way, but my paper stuffing wasn’t enough and it caused my bag to have a crease line near the flap.

so i bought a bag pillow, but it was such a perfect fit that I could not put my chain strap in unless i squeeze the bag pillow to close it. but I’m worried that it will stretch the leather.

N-p, I also use a Zoomoni bag liner with my 19 bags to protect the fabric interior and provide structure. It seems like when the pillow was designed they didn’t account for the strap of the 19, which is substantial. Hope you find a good solution.

Hi all!

Does anyone have the new Chanel 19 Flap Bag? I am so curious but haven't seen much information. It seems that Chanel is advertising it as the new Gabrielle, and one of Karl's last bags. At first glance I didn't get it at all, but upon further review on the Chanel site it is starting to grow on me (I'm a big fan of soft, pillowy bags!).

TIA!
i love it but i prefer boychanel more

Hi everyone, I got my very first Chanel 19. I'm a convert, I hated it at first but it has grown on me and suits my lifestyle! I just got this gorgeous black in small. The leather on the front and back are so buttery smooth, but the sides and base are quite wrinkled. So I just wanted to ask if this is typical for this bag?

Beautiful! I have one too in black lambskin that I purchased in 2019. The wrinkles you are seeing is the characteristics of the leather that may have developed due to storing the bag in the up position while not being fully stuffed. Chanel states to not use leather conditioner on the bags however my SA uses Cadillac Leather Conditioner on their bags she said. If you feel comfortable with the idea, putting leather conditioner may make the wrinkles less noticeable. If you decide to do that I would stuff the bag first so there is some support as you massage and blend in the leather conditioner. I'm not sure if all Chanel Boutiques have leather conditioner (they may not announce it) but you can be specific and ask. I've used Kate Spade leather conditioner on mine. There are no harsh chemicals or waxes. You want to stay away from the silicone and wax conditioners. I've used it on my Chanel Boy too. No issues.

Hi! Thank you so much for your response. I can try a conditioner on one spot and test it out. To be honest, I can live with the wrinkles on the bottom and on one side. But I fear that this will happen to the rest of the bag since the leather is really soft. I have ordered a base shaper and bag insert and I plan to keep the bag fully stuffed while storing, will that help prevent the wrinkling from getting worse?

Don't store it sitting on its bottom. I rotate my softer leather bags, laying them on their backs sometimes, or actually on their sides as the sides usually have some structure.
Hmm, the 19 doesn't seem to have a good structure on the sides and I think it might have been stored in it's side in the warehouse which possibly wrinkled the leather to this extent. I'm debating whether I should keep or return, I think the leather on this piece is very soft and more prone to the distressed look. I don't mind the sides, even the back, but a super aged look on the front flap would drive me nuts.
