Hi! Thank you so much for your response. I can try a conditioner on one spot and test it out. To be honest, I can live with the wrinkles on the bottom and on one side. But I fear that this will happen to the rest of the bag since the leather is really soft. I have ordered a base shaper and bag insert and I plan to keep the bag fully stuffed while storing, will that help prevent the wrinkling from getting worse?
You're welcome! Oh yes, to keep the bag from loosing it's shape you need to have it properly stuffed and having a bag organizer inside will help with the sides so they don't slouch and sink into itself. I would place the chain nicely inside the bag to prevent chain indentations and use tissue to stuff, even if you have the organizer inserted. Just don't over stuff. I heard laying it flat will depuff the quilts over time so I have mine standing up with it properly stuffed. I also have the top handle chain really bundled up in felt (I bought from craft store) and have it positioned towards the back of the bag. I keep a silica packet inside as well for moisture

Hi everyone, I got my very first Chanel 19. I'm a convert, I hated it at first but it has grown on me and suits my lifestyle! I just got this gorgeous black in small. The leather on the front and back are so buttery smooth, but the sides and base are quite wrinkled. So I just wanted to ask if this is typical for this bag?
Its quite likely due to the leather quality which differs from season to season, hence the wrinkles in this bag.
I got 3 Chanel 19 n I could tell that they all differ in the thickness, smoothness , poofiness n quality of the lambskin . I noticed Chanel has this badass attitude to use the slightly "thinner" quality lambskin which makes it more susceptible to wrinkles for their more popular colours like my caramel colour , a very popular colour that gets repeated over many seasons. I got the later season caramel and the lambskin appeared thinner n more wrinkly. The first caramel must have been the 21 P season where I saw over social media, the lambskinbin this bag is that thicker, poofier n so so smooth , without wrinkles.

My best quality lambskin leather must be my dark grey colour which was introduced first time by Chanel , the leather quality is thicker n poofier n unwrinkled. Black another very popular colour is where there could be wide variations in the quality of the lambskin depending on the seasons. Chanel knows these highly sought after colours gets sold regardless of the quality of the leather

How I store my chanel19? I have them lying on it's back after stuffing the chains inside n together with the packaging papers to prevent wrinkling. So far the quilts at the back are alright

Thank you! Yes that's exactly what I've been trying to explain to my SA. I totally understand that this bag has thinner lambskin and is meant to be soft and smooshy and it will wrinkle, but the extent of the wrinkles will depend batch to batch. Someone shared a photo with me of their 2 year old bag and there was a day and night difference. I think the leather in mine is a little too soft for my comfort zone, I will wait for one that's a tad bit thicker. The 21p Carmel is actually what got me obsessed with this bag, I saw it in the wild and was instantly hooked. My bag is from 23p, possibly just thinner lambskin that year.

I am recently selling my 19 bag which I have owned for 3 years but used less than 5 times. Its been stored flat in the box all the time (I live in dry climate). Can anyone tell me if there is tarnishing on the hardware shown in the photos as I thought that was just how brushed gold HW should look? Many thanks.

It's just brushed gold. Not tarnishing. I have a large 19, bought new from 2019 that was ordered in for me. I too only used it about 5 up to 7 times. I remember inspecting mine and mentioned how the gold looked "worn" in some areas as was told by the SA it's brushed gold and that's the way it's suppose to look.

I'm devastated as I did sell the bag on ebay and their authenticators said there is tarnishing, scratches and scuffs on the hardware so the transaction was cancelled and buyer refunded. I was like that's just the nature of this brushed gold HW which meant to look a bit rough and slightly worn. Shiny gold on the other hand is different I understand. I'm a honest seller and I baby my bags so getting that sort of feedback really upsets me. Maybe it has always been like this since day 1 and I never picked it up.20240412_144640.jpg

Awe I'm so sorry! What a disappointment. :( I wouldn't say it's tarnished but it does appear the back of your CC under the flap as scratches on it and on the edges. Doesn't look like tarnish but more like typical wear. When I think of tarnish I think of oxidation. Some of the brushed gold will show more metal underneath, which makes it look like wear. Mine is very faint and on some areas of hardware more metal is showing while other areas less metal is showing or not at all. Maybe you can negotiate with the buyer for a better price? Here are pics of mine. I didn't use it much and mine came ordered in for me. Maybe yours was in the boutique longer and people viewed it before you purchased perhaps which is why you have more of a "worn" look Even though you barely used it? Regardless it's a beautiful bag. Someone else will want to purchase it I'm sure.

I bought my 19 during last Christmas and I still haven’t used it and plastics cover are still on the hardware . I can see my looks just like yours. I think it’s normal for a brushed gold

Ladies, so I took my girls to the hair salon and my 5 year old smudged blue nail polish on the side of my black 19! I rushed home as soon as possible and got out most of it with the leather cleaners I have. But there was a small part that wouldn't budge and I honestly contemplated covering it with black nail polish at that point lol. My husband thankfully got the rest of it out using more of the leather cleaner and soft toothbrush.. Phew! Thought I'd share because I thought I ruined my new bag!! I have to say, even though this is supposed to be a carefree bag, I find it hard to maintain. I always find white finger marks no matter how careful I am and they are difficult to remove. I've stopped wearing lotions on my arms during the day because of it, but still the marks show up so much more on this specific bag. Do you notice that too?

Yikes! Hubby to the rescue! :) Good to know the leather cleaner removed nail polish! Do you mind sharing which one? I don't use my 19 much and only want to use it if I go somewhere special as it's not a bag I gravitate to but I refuse to sell it as I will be passing mine to my daughter. The times I did use it I did notice finger prints under the flap more then any where else which is probably due to me touching my face and getting makeup on my fingers that transfer to my bag. Lol. Mine is black as well.

That's exactly my problem too. I touch my face and it transfers all over the outside of the bag lol. I have apple guard and leather CPR. Both work well.

Hey Friend!!
I actually looked at a bag like yours this weekend and it was between that and the beige with hints of pink iridescent C-19.
Although I need another bag like I need a hole in the head; I bought the later - the leather was so yummy and the colors of these iridescent bags are magical!
Here’s mine:
How is your bag holding up? I bought this exact bag and have never used it. I swear if I don’t use it this year I will have to sell…

Anyone here have a white 19? Curious how it has held up, especially with color transfer from jeans? Does it wipe off easily since the leather is a lot more processed compared to a classic lambskin bag? Thanks!

Hi! I have an amazing opportunity to own a Chanel 19 in goatskin (Black, large size )gifted to me from an elderly family member (she will only wear mini size bags nowadays) She’s going to drop off the bag to my home next week!!

I am wondering if I need to be ‘gentle’ to this bag (goat leather) in comparison to caviar or lamb leathers?
I.e. for those of you with Goat skin leather, how is your Chanel 19 holding up? Do you consider this a ‘daily use’ bag?

Some extra info:
- I generally take good care of my bags (ie I don’t put on the ground, I don’t rough it up, I do condition the leathers).
-I haven’t used my classic flaps (medium and jumbo sizes) in years *hangs head in shame* because they don’t seem to fit in my lifestyle anymore yet I will never sell them because the prices are even crazier these days.
-I am a very ‘casual wear’ person outside of work (jeans, T shirts, lululemon athleisure, sneakers)

Thank you for reading this :flowers:
