As I mentioned in an earlier post, this bag IS available at Barney's New York on Madison Avenue in New York, NY. They have it shown on their website with the Covered Hardware, but I know for a fact that they have the GSH in stock there. Someone said it is also available at Bal LA in both GSH and GGH.

Alouette, the maxi messenger is large, but it lays flat to the body and doesn't seem large or make you look larger. The Pom pom can be worn cross-body, but it is much bulkier than the messenger.

Did I understand correctly that there were none made in 2009??

You know, I'm not sure what size I got..that's awful I know. I thought there was only one size but I'm not a Bal expert and only own a City. Now I need to ask my SA!!

The regular messenger measures 13" X 15" and the maxi is 15" X 17". At least that is what Barney's NY says. I am sorry it didn't work for you but it sounds like you are a petite girl. :p

I don't know if you meant this for me or just in general, but Barneys is not an option for me as I'm not in the States (they don't ship internationally nor do they accept international credit cards).

I'll go and see the Men's Day when I'm in London. The Courier is not for me (too big) and I don't think the Pompom is either (too much going on). I just need a simple messenger to use as a mom bag (I have a small baby). Thank you everyone, again, for your help! Greatly appreciated!

In addition to the courier, the pom-pom and the men's day bag (which can all easily be worn cross body) I've seen slender tpf members wear there city and part-time bags this way too, especially if you have a strap extender on your bag like a pod or boobie.

Thank you so much for the kind words! Haven't received the package yet. Waiting on UPS, supposed to arrive today. I'm so impatient! The dimensions don't seem that different but we shall see once I try it on. :graucho:

Thanks. I'm so po'd. Was supposed to arrive today........NOOO box! It better come tomorrow. I'm definitely going to call SA tomorrow to have shipping chgs refunded back to me.

Oh drat! I know you are disappointed, but it will surely come today. Don't blame you for having them refund your shipping charges though. Let us know when you finally receive it! :smile1:

FYI barney's sf has the black maxi with silver hw and it's GINORMOUS. totally empty it actually hugs the body quite nicely but if you put more than a few things in it, they tend to settle on the bottom and in the corners which makes the bag very wide and unflattering if you are short (i am 5'). apparently there has been a run on this bag at barney's because of taylor so they are nearly sold out. i will note that the leather on this bag is greyish and dull, not great.
