taylor really rocks this bag. i would never have given it a second glance if not for her. and she is short -- shorter than rachel even it seems. yet it doesn't seem too big on her. would love to see modeling pics!

I agree Taylor looks fab with this bag on. I'm 5'7" and it is long on me -- I have the GGH on mine and it looks awesome. Will take some pics ASAP and post them by the end of this week. :smile1:

Hi, I'm new to Balenciaga and this is my first post here. I recently saw a picture of a Balenciaga messenger bag and that's what led me here - I want it! :D I hope it's okay to ask my questions in this thread.

The bag I want is the Besace, the regular kind not the maxi. Could anyone give me the (approximate) measurements? Also, are these readily availble in the stores? I'll be in London in November and would like to purchase my bag then. Any idea on the price?

Also, is it possible to find out in advance the colors this is made in?

It is my understanding that per my SA, the besace style didn't carry over from last season. Bbag experts, correct me if I'm mistaken plz. NM only had one left unless I was given misinformation.

Barney's New York has them on their website (only the covered hardware on the website though they do have the Giant Silver Hardware in stock in the store in New York) and according to the website, the MAXI Messenger bag is 15" X 17" and the regular Messenger (smaller one) is 13" X 16".
They both say "Besace" on the website.

^^The other poster is correct. Do you want reg. hardware or giant hardware? The besace was not released in 2009 in RH. and there are no more left on planet earth in stores. I know this only because I called and emailed EVERY Bal store to see what they're stock was earlier this year because I wanted one with RH. The ones I found were leftover stock from '08. In addition it seems like Balenciaga has pulled all past season stock from their retail stores so even if one slipped through the cracks I'm sure it's gone by now. Also NM and Barney's did not have the besace in RH.

That's the bad news: the GOOD news is that if you want RH besace I've seen a bunch floating around recently on resale sights and even barneys.com and your chances are good for tracking one down. If I were you I'd call Barneys and see if they can find one for you. There out there! GL :flowers:

Just checked Barney's website -- they only have the Besace and the maxi besace in covered hardware -- and sadly the boutiques no longer carry this style -- it's from last year. I have the maxi with GGH -- it's the same style bag Taylor has from The Rachel Zoe Project(Taylor has GSH on hers) I got it from the NY store. If you are lucky enough to find one it would be in a Bal boutique, but I think they just pulled all their old stock so it's hard to say if one can be found anymore -- also RealDealCollection.com has pre-owned Bals that are awesome -- Corey is great and there are a couple of Besaces on her site now -- a '08 rh Charbon and an '07 Ocean GSH Besace. They are 100% authentic, so no worries about a fakie -- Good Luck!!

They have several 08 f/w SGH & GGH Maxi Besace's at Bal LA. But the black isn't pitch black.

I ordered a GGH Black one few days ago.. and I do have to say.. being 5'2" .. no matter how long or short you made the strap.. that bag was just HUGE... lol. Needless to say.. it went back.. lol.

Yes I agree the bag is big, but I'm 5'7" and it's not so bad on me. I just love the look of it and the way it hangs on me -- and it holds ALOT -- just my style of bag. It's not for everyone so if you're petite and like the bag I would suggest trying it on if you can.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I can't believe they don't sell this bag anymore :crybaby:Just my luck to fall in love with something unavailable. I had a look on realdealcollection and it seems like a great site. The only problem is that since I live in Finland, I'd have to pay hefty customs duties if I order outside the EU... But I've bookmarked the site and will use it as my last resort.

My next question then is: Are there any types of messenger bags available in the stores now?

I think the courier and the men's day are the only messenger style bags. They stopped making the flat messenger too. Every now and then you will see a flat messenger on RDC or flea bay. Oh and the Pom Pom can be worn cross body as well.
