Docride's Hermes Lazarus Thread (can this Hermes be Saved? )

Hi Doc,

I was wondering if there is any way to remove water spots and stains on vache naturelle?

Thank you so much and stay safe!
Hi Hermes Vache natural has many versions some quite naked and others with varying amounts of semi finish. Conceivably a natural unfinished leather should be able to water spots blended by wetting the surrounding leather With clear water and allowing it to dry. However , hermes vache isn’t just a naked leather ... it’s usually semifinished leather when semifinish is involved I would say expect that the water stains will remain. This is my opinion only .
All the best doc

Hi docride,

Can these scuffed corners on this Evercolor Licol 19 be repaired/touched up, if I sent the bag to the Hermes spa? Please see pictures. Thank you for your time!

Hello Doc, i just received my first vintage birkin 35 in Naturelle Courchevel Leather. I was informed about the touch up made on the corners & handle (She gave free hermes twilly) of the bag but the body is untouched. Overall I love the bag but the touch up work was a bit off it looks shiny and the handles started to show some cracks and some wrinkles in person. Is it normal?Or do you think there is a way to undo the touch up and make it better? posting pics of the bag. Please advice is it worth to keep or return?Thank you

Hi @docride -
I recently got a vintage Museliere II (2001) that has the outer portion in Metallic Silver. The finish is quite worn. While I'm OK with the patina, I would like to explore making it better. Have you seen any improvements done on leathers with metallic finishes before, or am I just wasting my (and everyone else's) time?

Here are some photos:

Hey there, Congratulations on your cool classic Birkin. Good news , the old touch up color could be improved upon by a trusted restorer, maybe enjoy the bag for now and then send it to a trusted restoration specialist? All the best, doc

Dear @docride ,

I'm thinking about purchasing a GP that has some wear on the corners and handles. Do. you know if this could successfully be repaired at the H spa or by a third party?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hello there,
Great bag and beautiful color as well! Yes a trusted restoration person should be able to spruce this bag up. Hermes might not do the handles though... just the corners mot likely but ask them first.
all the best, doc
