The areas with issues could be recolored which would help the bag to look better there are shops that might even do filler and texture for areas with top skin loss.

Hello Doc, thanks for your reply and the good news, since seller was not open for return/refund unless the bag was proven not authentic. I will take your advice to enjoy it first and maybe after a year or two will be able to send it to a trusted restoration specialist like you.( I just wish I'm living somewhere near you though).Hey there, Congratulations on your cool classic Birkin. Good news , the old touch up color could be improved upon by a trusted restorer, maybe enjoy the bag for now and then send it to a trusted restoration specialist? All the best, doc
Hi thereHello Doc,
How are you?
My mom has retired and she has decided to give me her old Herbag to use as a work bag. The leather part is a little bit scratched up. Do you think I can use Cadillac with it? Otherwise, I’ve seen you suggest Meltonian for Herbags before. Could you please advice if this would also work with this one?
If conditioning wouldn’t help, I am also open to have it fixed by a spa.
Thank you and kind regards,

Hi thereDear Doc,
I hope you are well?
I just brought a 2003 Bag In I think Clemence (or maybe Togo?) leather. Its the Massai style.
The bag is in superb condition with no rubbing or damage but the leather feels a little dry to the touch and also I think looks dry.
Its in Ebene so a pretty dark colour I just would like I recommendation for the best conditioner to use.
I looked at the 'leather care' thread and was still confused.
I live in the UK and easy brands to get hold of tend to be Woly and Saphir.
Is there a product from these brands ideally that you would recommend just to nourish the leather.
Thank you for your advice
Thank you !Hi there
The leather might feel dry to you and be just fine especially if it’s a finished leather which can feel dry even when it’s perfectly fine . you don’t see cracks right? And the bag isn’t stiff correct?
woly and saphir make great products
You can go to your cobbler and ask if they have a recommendation as well. Always test a small hidden area before proceeding to use any product on your precious Hermes bag. Do not use a heavily oily or greasy type product on finished leathers.
All the best doc
