Bags you don't get

Animal print
Bags with fur or hair

Fendi Micro Peekaboo - what can fit in them? Or are they meant to be bag charms?

For Bags I like that most don't get: the Givenchy Pandora.

hahaha I'm guilty, I have one zebra print canvas Dooney [down from 3], and seriously considering another animal print bag, also had bags with fur in the past. the funny thing is when I was a child and ppl would have zebra or leopard print clothes/shoes/bags I'd think they were outrageous!

yeah, teeny tiny little bags, I'm like you may as well just stuff a wallet in your pocket. bags I love that many ppl give me the side eye for are python bags...unreasonably expensive, and super fragile, you really need to baby them [at least I feel you do] and for the price, they are NOT everyday bags, only special occasion bags, and my family and friends r like wth, spending that much on a bag u can only carry every now and then. welp...I LOVE EM lol

I actually love threads like this. It's cool to see how different we all are. I saw people say they didn't like or get the bags I have and it amused me greatly with no hard feelings.

I think the Neverfull. It's not that I don't get it- it's a great bag and it looks roomy and convenient, but I don't "get it" enough to know why everyone in my city seems to have one. LV makes tons of great bags but you barely see them because everyone wants a Neverfull.

Also the Lady Dior bag. It looks cute but it looks hard to pull off for some reason. It's shaped like a toy or something, I can't explain it.

yes, the Neverfull is just a tote...that looks like every other tote...I guess it's an LV lover thing.

Dior bag, yes cute but ridiculously small [see previous comments]

Why do people do anything goofy? Emotional immaturity? Not enough hugs as a kid? Lol!
THIS!!!!
yeah...we need to spread more hugs...I LOOOOOOOOVE HUGGGGSSSS :hugs:

Agree with everything here esp points 1 and 6 on LV and Chanel. Really cannot see for the life of me what's so nice about those bags.

However while I can't understand why those bags are so popular, I can appreciate the sentiments behind collecting bags they love and the joy it brings to people. So in that we are all the same :flowers:

AMEN!! And glad they r loving Chanel and LV like that, keep Gucci prices out of the OMG you need to be committed insane range [I'm with Gucci, which is just the regular insane range :lol::lol:]

I agree with animal print. Never liked it, always thought it looked tacky. Every time I see leopard I think Peggy Bundy from Married with Children. Sorry, but that’s all I see.

The Givenchy Pandora I never liked, either. I actually saw it twice today at two different department stores and I still don’t get it.

Definitely don’t like anything highly embellished, either, although if it’s a floral print I will give it a pass.

Not into the Gucci Marmont line that has taken up a storm with so many YouTubers. I think it’s the heart that turns me off the most. The GG looks like a CoverGirl emblem and when I felt the bags in person, the leather felt cheap to me. Shame because I do like Gucci.

Anything patent leather. Don’t like it.

I can understand why people wouldn’t like Chanel; I love the brand but I will admit it has a “granny” look to it. I never liked it in my teens and twenties for that reason. I appreciate the brand now that I’m in my 30s.

But the classic balenciagas will always have a special place in my heart [emoji7]

Love of my handbag life.

I don't get bags with the short handles that are meant to be handheld and have no crossbody/shoulder strap option. They are often beautiful but how am I meant to get anything done if I have to hold it all the time??

Also I have a weird thing against bags where the handles don't fold down.

This!!! I don't get handheld bags. I feel like I'd lose them, like how I always lose umbrellas when I have to hold them.

And the handles that don't fall down is one of the reasons I don't get the Givenchy Antigona. I feel like the handles will poke my underarm or something.

OMG that's it! I've been trying to figure out what it reminds me of! :P

I think the Marmont chain is too yellow gold too.

And I LOVE your profile pic -- I'm addicted to kokeshi!
I used to wear Cover Girl as a teen (and still get their lip gloss on occasion!) so when I saw the Marmont line that was my first thought!

And thank you! I have had that icon for almost 10 years and I think you're the second person to comment on it.:flowers: I bought her in Hiroshima in 2008.

Same feeling! I know a lot of people don't get the Pandora bag, and it's funny and amusing to see how it's described.

I agree with the Lady Dior.

I thought the Pandora was the weirdest bag for the longest time. Then something switched and I realized it was awesome. I want one.

I have a Lady Dior and I love it as a piece of my collection, but it is the most high maintenance bag I own and it very difficult to use! So I’ve only actually used it a handful of times, but I love the way that it looks when I use it (but I don’t love using it - and I like to LOVE using my bags)

I'm a Gucci lover as well, and I must admit, the bags don't speak to my heart under Alessandro the way they did under Frida. There are a few that spoke to me [very specifically, the python bamboo top handle Dionysus, and the white/red Sylvie] and a few others that are ok, but not gotta have it. there is a white/black marmont i like, which is ironic because it puts me in the mind of the chevron bag, but I may ending up getting that at some point in the future. but generally speaking none none of the lines in total speak to me. I am very very excited about the recent Gucci craze...I wish i was in the middle of it butttt....it's certain bags from certain collections only, and definitely no personal craze...but I'm still sticking with Gucci over all else, hopefully it'll get better.

I love a good Peg Bundy moment. I always tell people that leopard print is my favorite color. I even have zebra and leopard print keys! LOL! Because of my job, I don’t own much.

I don’t get anything Céline or Chloe. I adore how the bags look, but I have yet to find one that’s functional. I can’t deal with a bag that’s more form than function.

I also don’t get tote bags. I’d rather carry a backpack which I do have for work.

@immigratty, I laughed out loud reading your post! It's so descriptive and funny. I must admit to being a fan of the Chanel gramma quilts, but I do see your point.
that's crazy. Like why r ppl upset because other ppl have different tastes? I LOOOOOOOOVE Gucci Stirrup bags, I've had ppl say they look stupid like tear drops lol...welp more for me hahaha.

but to respond to OP, I don't get:

1. the LV craze, like I see ppl who have LV mono or the squares [sorry don't know what they are called] and then they post family pics, and it pretty much looks all the same. just one big blur of mono, or brown or blue squares. I guess the same can be said for Gucci, Fendi, burberry, or other brands mono/signature looks, but I don't see ppl purchase large numbers of diff bags with same design on it in other brands, but LV loyalists seem to be notorious for doing it. I have ONE LV mono bag [ellipse...and it's old as dirt] that is PLENTY of LV mono for me. If I were to purchase another LV mono, it would have to be like the embossed leather, or something completely different.
2. Gucci Soho. I am a Gucci LOVER and brand Loyalist, and this bag is cute enough I guess, but ppl can't seem to get enough of it, I'm like meh, glad ppl like/love it, as I love to see Gucci having increased sales etc., but it's not me.
3. Gucci brown mono. I like the vintage blue mono they used to have, but not feeling the brown whatsoever.
4. embellished bags [all brands], with all sorts of crap splattered on them, they look ridiculous. I blame the Fendi spy bag for starting this ridiculous trend.
5. Michael Kors--whole brand. ppl love it, but most of their bags just look very cheaply made to me, nothing special, especially those saucer sized MK medallions that hang off of everything
6. Chanel, all the bags have a very similar look, like gramma quilts. I wouldn't mind having a boy bag [just one] but i wish I MIGHT drop like 5 stacks on a gramma quilt bag
7. Hermes. I LOVE Kelly and Birkin, but I feel as though their prices and methods are RIDICULOUS. you expect me to drop 20 stacks on a bag, that I have to wait for, and pretty much I get what I get [whatever becomes available] not necessarily exactly the color scheme I want but....close enough. If I am dropping 20 stacks on a bag, they better be asking me what color and material I want for my lining. and that Evelyne is HURRIBLE! like, for the ppl who want to be in the "H" club but can't afford a Birkin or Kelly. I'd rather stay out.
8. I also don't get Goyard, Monyat, Bottega Vanetta. no real variety.

there are probably more, but those are the things that immediately come to mind.

This is a fun thread! Hope no one gets offended, but I don't get the "doubling up" trend. The one where you buy one bag and get two or multiple bags in return... If anyone owns such bags, I'd love to hear what you like about the doubling up!

Here are a couple of examples:
