I’m so happy to be alive I can’t help myself. My hubby has been so supportive and takes wonderful care of me. I hate having to depend on him for everything. I can’t even go to the bathroom without help. But I’m so glad to have help that I need. Iwas able to retire from my hospital bed,who does that? This girl!I jumped out of a perfectly good airplane. I said if I could do Thati Icould do anything. And boy was it scary.not as scary as being51 andhaving a stroke. Gong to work and waking up in the hospital not feeling my left arm or leg. Not understanding what happened tome or where I was …View attachment 6040730
You are amazing! Once I went to go skydiving, went through all the training, then at the end of the day when we were supposed to jump, they said it was too windy and we should come back another day. I never went back. I was relieved!

Thrifted this gorgeous gal the other day. Vintage Dooney is just so beautiful and incredibly well made.
Enjoy your Dooney vintage treasure.
Finding a vintage handbag at a thrift store is a triple bonus...
you have a great handbag, you got a good price,
and you saved a treasure from the landfill.
Congratulations all around.

It’s great really once you get out the plane e. My knees were like OH NO YOU DONT! As I was kneeling in the doorway to leave the plane . My knees were digging in lol. The guy attached to pushed us out and no turning back….

I'd be more inclined to do it that way. Back when I tried, it was a solo jump with a basic parachute, not the kind you can steer.

Well this is a part of my birthday haul2024… uh I couldn’t help myself. I fell in love in 2023 during my first trip to the Aurora, illinois store. I csaw it on the clearance table and immediately put it on crossbody. It was meant for Mr to have. Being the first time in a dooney store I was so overwhelmed with everything. But this bag drew me and caught my attention. It still captures my attention. It’s adorable and so perfect for me as I’m recovering? I love it, Dooney and Bourke Florentine nano satchel in the color teal. It’s got that burgundy edge seal that really draws you ey eand makes this bag so beautiful I can’t keep it out of my lap period. So tiny and cute. It fits more than I thought it would honestly it holds the same amount as the small Florentine drawstring. Imewas able to pack it with my red and white small Sullivan Carrington, vintage coach skinny case, cheaters. Retirement badge and I’d. Lippy.
medium Florentine wristlet with my keys. Hand sanitizer and hand cream. And EarPods.Oh and my iPhone 15 pro max also fits. It’s stuffed but I can access my cash and cards without playing Tetris in this nano bag , who woul have thought nontetris in the nano. I had to carefully pack it just so, but I enjoyed packing carefully.
At the beginning of my dooney journey last year I was more concerned with my iPad fitting in my bag, no I have a pouch on my wheelchair thst will fit my iPad. My nano is smooth all over . I will spray her with apple rain and stain guard since I don’t want any water spots I learned with my Ivy the green water spots.this teal color is beautiful to me. I might have tried black but yo know I have an aversion to black bags and that hasn’t really changed when looking at all the beautiful Florentine colors…love you all. An I appreciate your supportIMG_8920.jpegIMG_8918.jpegIMG_8907.jpeg
You have an amazing approach to life. And the positive spirit can make a big difference.
I've been there. Not as dramatic as your stroke, thank goodness. But after a medical issue that turned out to be caused by scar tissue from a previous surgery I spent 3
weeks in the hospital after the surgery to fix the problem. I was so relieved that
the issue was scar tissue and not some serious disease that I just
powered thru and took each day as it came.
I'm glad you have the support of a loving husband. Dealing with these issues
alone is even harder.

I have used a belt bag on occasion too. I can't put anything over my shoulders,
but the belt bag makes it easier to walk with a cane. Only problem....
I have so much stuff in my handbag, it's hard to pare it down and cram in enough
that I feel comfortable I have all I need.
thank you for sharing your story with me…I’m having that issue which I need to use a cane called a hemi walker it’s got 4 feet and it a stroke walker. Anything having to due with stroke usually has hemi attached to it. My right hemisphere of my brain was affected by the stroke ans hence the left side of my body is affected and left so weakened that I have no control over it. Hopefully it will come back online with my brain where I can control it. My left leg is coming back faster than my arm. They told me while in the hospital the leg usually comes back faster than the arm. I’m finding this to be accurate.im determined to have the use of all of my limbs as I had before the stroke. I’m not happy this happened to me but I’m marveling at how my body is recovering slowly but surely. IAm so happy to still be alive and that they found me in time for emergency surgery to save my life…I was alone in a wall tower at a maximum security men’s prison. Things could have gone to 💩 really quickly. Thank God it was close to shift change.soafter being a big big girl all my life, I’m open to smediumbsgs. Always love a backpack. I have to wear a gait belt which helps therapists and hubby keep hold of me in case I lose my balanceanstart to fall. I’m so scarred of falling.i don’t need anything hindering my recovery…so I can’t really wear my back packssafely at this time bit I’m sure they will come in handy one my balance is back.

It's beautiful! I almost got this one. Every time I think I'm going to get it or another the same size, I stop myself.

I got the same cane when I broke my hip. I broke my arm near the shoulder at the same time so I couldn't use a walker. It's in the closet in case I need it again. I hope I won't for a long time. I'm scared of falling too. I have so many close calls. I feel that one of these times I'm not going to be lucky. I need to be more careful and watch my feet but I keep forgetting.

That's so lucky they got to you in time. You still had more to contribute to the world. When DH had his heart attack, no one knew it was a heart attack because his symptoms were atypical. We were in the emergency room for over an hour before they decided to do an ekg. Once they realized, they rushed him into surgery and saved his life. We were so close to them just sending us home and if they had done that, he would have died. They call his type of heart attack the widow maker. If they had realized sooner, he wouldn't have as much damage to his heart as he does.

I’m moving into my medium toggle crossbody in the color Bordeaux. I’m going to see if it can be my herald bag. Close to the body and light weight. I know it will hold my essentials. Without weighing me down’s
