Scarves Your Grail Scarf

My latest grail was such a surprise. I've always admired this design but did not want to invest in a high sum for it, knowing it is a bit unusual in subject matter and design. This scarf is so appropriate for ringing in the Year of the Rooster, and the challenging times ahead for us. This one came to me brand new, never worn, its is original Hermes sleeve and so crisp it still has that starchy silk feeling.

“Priéres au Vent” (Prayers in the Wind) is one of the earlier works of Dimitri Rybaltchenko designed for the Spring Summer Collection of 1996 and re-issued for the fall winter collection 1997. In fall 2001, it was issued as GM CS.

“Buddhist pilgrims who armed with prayer wheels (visible at the four corners of the scarf) walk in procession around a stupa, the sacred monument which houses holy relics and whose complex architecture, dominated by the hemisphere, symbolizes the Elements. Up there in the clouds eagles also circle, gliding above the peaks, which point like Truth towards Heaven, and above the monasteries, from which emanates the quiet murmuring of meditation and asceticism.” (from Hermès Scarf Booklet Spring 1996).

Thanks for the explanation from the scarf booklet. Twins on this scarf - but I have it in the red & blue cw. It was one of my first reseller purchases, so it was a big step for me. Having travelled in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan, I had to have it as a souvenir of those trips so I also paid a premium. I particularly like scarfs by Dimitri Rybaltchenko because of his designs frequently have "travel" themes to match countries I have visited.

Lanit, it's a beautiful design and one I often gaze at wondering how it wold tie. I love the details and the amazing way the sky, Himalayas and figures work together. So much energy in there , I would wear that on days when I would need to feel centred and creative.

Thanks Maedi, yes, Kate (and I) am fond of that breed. Kate needs to show off her beautiful CSGM with some modeling photos. I think she shared it with her precious pups in it. Hoping she can repost those marvelous photos soon.

Maedi, you have a very good memory...it was me. The monks have Tibetan Terriers as guard dogs and companions...here are three siblings. They are a very special breed and I was thrilled to find a scarf that includes them. So far I have a csgm and a moussie.​

This is such a great photo. Tibetans always look like they are smiling ( unlike schnauzers who don't)

This was a mini grail for me: Fantasie Pittoresque by François Houtin. The sheer amount intricate details and the amazing inky blues are TDF. I got it a few months ago but this is the first time wearing it. I want to look at it more than wear it!
