This was a mini grail for me: Fantasie Pittoresque by François Houtin. The sheer amount intricate details and the amazing inky blues are TDF. I got it a few months ago but this is the first time wearing it. I want to look at it more than wear it!

So beautiful !
I love these monochrome designs, and find them so much easier to wear .This one is especially artistic.

My latest grail was such a surprise. I've always admired this design but did not want to invest in a high sum for it, knowing it is a bit unusual in subject matter and design. This scarf is so appropriate for ringing in the Year of the Rooster, and the challenging times ahead for us. This one came to me brand new, never worn, its is original Hermes sleeve and so crisp it still has that starchy silk feeling.

“Priéres au Vent” (Prayers in the Wind) is one of the earlier works of Dimitri Rybaltchenko designed for the Spring Summer Collection of 1996 and re-issued for the fall winter collection 1997. In fall 2001, it was issued as GM CS.

“Buddhist pilgrims who armed with prayer wheels (visible at the four corners of the scarf) walk in procession around a stupa, the sacred monument which houses holy relics and whose complex architecture, dominated by the hemisphere, symbolizes the Elements. Up there in the clouds eagles also circle, gliding above the peaks, which point like Truth towards Heaven, and above the monasteries, from which emanates the quiet murmuring of meditation and asceticism.” (from Hermès Scarf Booklet Spring 1996).

Lanit, this is such a gorgeous scarf, the border is amazing! Buddhism is such an amazing religion/philosophy/way-of-life and it has made a huge impact in my life. Wear your new treasure in the best of health!

Maedi, you have a very good memory...it was me. The monks have Tibetan Terriers as guard dogs and companions...here are three siblings. They are a very special breed and I was thrilled to find a scarf that includes them. So far I have a csgm and a moussie.
Such beautiful and precious darlings! Thank you for sharing. If they made a scarf with a border collie, I'd be game. The recent men's grrr looks a bit like my dog :)

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting in this thread. I was just wondering if anyone would happen to know of any brick and mortar shops that sell vintage H scarves in London? I'm drawn to older patterns but I'm not a fan of shopping online so I thought I'd reach out.

Thank you, thank you!

There are a few , but beware the ludicrously high prices for designs that can be easily found on Ebay for a fifth of the price or less. The scarves i've seen were not in great condition, and the price was set well above current retail.
You won't find any of the real sought after older designs there.
If you are set on looking try Cheval Place in Knightsbridge where there are three or four second hand designer places .Can't remember the name but there is one tiny shop run by two older women , they have quite a large stash .
You are much more likely to find something interesting and reasonably priced on Vestiare or Ebay, but you can have fun poking around those shops I mentioned.

I would only do it if you are sure you can recognize authentic.
I've been to Cheval Place a few times. The big famous one in the corner is okay. Some of the stores in the middle of the block I have found to be shifty. Have seen fake scarves and birkins there more than once.

Ack! I'm sure I can't. I'm no pro! Just an admirer. Maybe I'll just browse and then see if I can get pics to show the knowledgeable ones here.

You could try the vintage concession in the ground floor of Liberty, it's based just off to the left hand side of the main staircase. They usually have a small number of vintage Hermes scarves there, together with bags, jewellery and watches from many of the main designers. I remember seeing a Brides de Gala carre in the very popular pink and grey colourway a while ago, although the mark up was a bit high considering condition I seem to recall, but at least it's nice to be able to see the items yourself.
