A blizzard version of grails. Yes this is New England, so despite blizzard conditions my mailman made it here with the last of my four purchases made almost two weeks ago. This one came from the far reaches of.... Well Connecticut... But that's another story. Note to self: I should leave the mailman an extra dunkin donuts gift card next weekend.

Anyway back to the scarf. I have a very colorful summer version of ex libris en kimonos. But I found myself yearning for a red blue one. Good red blue scarves without yellow are so hard to find and I do better with rouge Hermes than a cherry red. So red blue exLenK really is it for me. I stupidly resisted the urge to buy one in October right before my Paris trip. Frugality and restraint will get you no where I tell you. I have been looking ever since.

Recently I came across this plisse version. I had been wanting to try a plisse. This is exactly the colorway of exLenK that I wanted. And the price was far less than a 90 ex libris usually costs. So I took a chance.

It took some playing to get it to tie. It's cool. The colors are even prettier than I expected. I'm definitely keeping it. I love it. But I can't say that I'd pass up the regular 90 next time I see it either because the colors truly are exquisite. Here she is. My little gamble.

Wow! You seem to have figured out how to tie the plisse pretty easily! Definitely adds another look to your impressive collection!

How beautiful! Can I go gambling with you?

Thank you! Yes scarf1 I'm happy to have the diversity in my little collection. I think I have all formats other than jersey and Pointu now. So fun. Tying it took some time to get used to. It was like a slinky when I took it out if the box. They seem nice for summer. My favorite look which I couldn't capture in a selfie was as a shoulder shrug.. Mai tai has some lovely pictures. It also doesn't have a lot of bulk so I think it would be nice around the neck for summer. Plus I think they can be picked up relatively inexpensively. I paid 325 for this.

I actually love this design in the plissé, I tried the colour way at time of issue and it's lovely in the flat version , but a plissé is a lively creature and imparts that bit of spice IMO . the divine navy/white waves are gorgeous pleated and give a bit of impact .Quite often a darkish scarf can disappear in this format.
Try your plisse with dead plain navy low cut dress and hear those compliments rolling in , it's fabulous!

I encourage you to add a jersey top your collection. They make the most amazing halter tops for summer!! No kidding, the stretch allows for a better fit and if you have a mors scarf ring, it's a beautiful look. I wear a tube top underneath it (just to be safe) and pair it with linen pants. Sparklelisab has a gorgeous hot pink version listed....;)

Oh dear. You are so sweet. I don't think I have worn a halter top since I was about 8 and that was about 1975. My halter top days have long passed me. [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]But I'll try a jersey in another way just for fun someday.

Ha. We are about the same age.
If you tie it properly it's not unlike a sleeveless top. One piece goes over the shoulder and your back is completely covered.
All sides are secure. That said, I understand your reservations. I've only done it once myself and I still wore both a strapless bra and a tube top thingy underneath just to be safe....and we were in Hawaii. 😊

Dear PocketbookPup, plisses really look great with strong graphic contrasts. I like this knot; so tidy and fresh and young! It's nice that you also have it in the non-plisse . I am so reluctant on plisse because the pattern can't be readily .seen

This is so gorgeous!!! You always make great choices, dear!

I am intrigued by the plisse format...they have a very different look and I kind of like the structure of them. Was exLenK issued as a plisse or did the previous owner have it pleated?

Thank you all for your kind words. I suspect it was released as a plisse BJS because I googled it to make sure it was authentic and I came up with multiple photos of other colorways in a plisse.

Yesterday I played with it quite a bit. It must be brand new because it was very tight and springy. I decided that I might like it just a bit looser. So I put it in the dryer on warm for a few minutes and then stretched it out with 4 heavy bottles on the corners for a few hours. It loosened it up just enough that I could work with it more easily. I suspect with time the same thing would have happened but I don't know that for sure. The difference is subtle but here are some photos after I did that. The tighter look is neat. I will be in the lookout for a plisse or two in the future to wear in a tight format. I think I like this one even better a bit more loose. I definitely don't need a regular 90 now.

Just enough crimp to keep things fresh and interesting.
I had never been particularly interested in plisse scarves before but yours is beautiful and you wear it well. ❤️
