Two more of my third tier scarf scores errr scarves arrived today. I had pretty much given up on the third tiers thinking I would never find them at a price that I was willing to pay. And just when I gave up they appeared.

First up Mdm et Msr. First enabled by Mai tai and solidified by MYH. I had been looking for a good black brown combo since I bought my gold birkin. I agree with MYH that the older spotless version is better. I even called the Madison Avenue store a few months ago to see if they were still doing the monogram version that MYH bought there. No luck. Just when I had given up this appeared. For $200 free shipping! Brand new. I'm so excited.

Second up: this one was an odd sort of Grail for me. I have to admit that I wasn't drawn to it at first. I liked Mai tai's version as a summery bright but I have never seen it for sale. Two of my favorite silkies- Pirula and MYH- have a different version and they both adore it. So I thought: gee it has to be wonderful. I have bid half heartedly on a few on eBay over the past few months but I wasn't willing to pay the 450-550 that it seems to cost. So I decided I would just scratch it off the list. And then it appeared. For 280 free shipping. It arrived today. Brand new, flawless in a box. Fleurs d'indiennes, shown with colvert and Gris tourtourelle. It also goes nicely with gold. And of course Pirula and MYH were right. It's beautiful. View attachment 3249583View attachment 3249584

I feel so very lucky. I can't believe it.

Both are gorgeous but that Fleurs is WOW!!!! Congrats on great finds at a steal!!

Beautiful!! Such a pretty scarf.

We are Kelly twins ( except that mine has brushed PHW).

Gris t is my most carried Kelly. Goes with everything.

I can relate to searching eBay. It's particularly dangerous to peek late at night...

Thank you. So glad to be your bag twin. It is a wonderful color.

So speaking of grails (non-whacked), all you wonderful and kind people seeking pink Coupons Indiens for me please stop.

I just got a nice deal on another lovely Year of India beauty in such similar colors, I don't think I could justify it. And I'm okay with that because this is gorgeous and I'm delighted!

It tics off three in one:

1) was hoping to find a beautiful Portes at a good price

2) the colors if not the geometry of Coupons

3) similar enough to this season's red Pays des Fleurs et Oiseaux that I can scratch that off the list too.

Beautiful choice! The colors are so you.

Twins with you and Mai Tai (and MYH?) on the brown Monsieur et Madame, PbP!

Glad to be your twin. This is a fun design. I never thought I'd find one.

Thank you. I suppose this shows that even popular designs like fleurs can be found at a reasonable price if you wait. There are definitely some scarves that I have paid top dollar for but I think for the few things left on my wishlist I'll wait for a good price. Fortunately there aren't many and I'm still feeling full on the old designs. One more coming tomorrow if it makes it here in the snow....

Wow you are lucky!!!

One of my 3rd tier grails arrived today. I was outbid on a Turandot last week but this was a good consolation prize especially since it was a great deal. First time ordering from Japan and I could not believe it arrived in a week!!

Aube, Libre Comme L'Ange. Zoé Pauwels 2002.

Oh wow! That's a very cool design! Congratulations. Sorry about Turandot. Another will come along. I'm sure.

Thanks. My trolling paid off. The last one still to come is a bit of a gamble. I hope it works out. I can't say I haven't looked at all this week, but I definitely cut back at least 90%.

I like how cutting back 90% for you only resulted in three scarves purchased. Ironically I also purchased a MetM in the same cw this week. I've been eying maitai's scarf forever, finally thought oh what the heck, and hunted it down from a reseller too. The crazy thing is that it was just on h.com this spring for Mother's Day embroidery and I totally passed on it. Oh well. Twins.

Oh you are funny. No dear.,sorry to confuse you. I had a flurry of buying when I found 4 things at such good prices a week or two ago. It just took them forever to arrive. I haven't bought anything this week...yet. You never know. 😂😂😂

They are. And they originally posted it for $500something, then kept raising the price as people watched [emoji49]

Love love the neutrals in this, BJS. V. handsome.

A blizzard version of grails. Yes this is New England, so despite blizzard conditions my mailman made it here with the last of my four purchases made almost two weeks ago. This one came from the far reaches of.... Well Connecticut... But that's another story. Note to self: I should leave the mailman an extra dunkin donuts gift card next weekend.

Anyway back to the scarf. I have a very colorful summer version of ex libris en kimonos. But I found myself yearning for a red blue one. Good red blue scarves without yellow are so hard to find and I do better with rouge Hermes than a cherry red. So red blue exLenK really is it for me. I stupidly resisted the urge to buy one in October right before my Paris trip. Frugality and restraint will get you no where I tell you. I have been looking ever since.

Recently I came across this plisse version. I had been wanting to try a plisse. This is exactly the colorway of exLenK that I wanted. And the price was far less than a 90 ex libris usually costs. So I took a chance.

It took some playing to get it to tie. It's cool. The colors are even prettier than I expected. I'm definitely keeping it. I love it. But I can't say that I'd pass up the regular 90 next time I see it either because the colors truly are exquisite. Here she is. My little gamble.
