Friends, an early Christmas miracle happened...

The last Grail has been found!! :yahoo:

Jardins de Nouvelle Angleterre

I've been looking for this scarf in this colorway since 2009. On the rare occasions it would surface, it was always at $500+ dollars (just type "hermes angleterre" into eBay right now and prepare to be appalled).

More pictures and profile are here.

This is the last thing I had on my list. It's taken me seven years to do it, but I found all my grails. Yes! I'm done!! :happydance: I wrote a long piece about my grails and grail hunting in general on my thread here. But you have to sing along with the song!

Congrats on finding your last grail! It is a stunning design and cw that ties fabulously on you. Now I wonder how long it will be until you have another grail. ;-)

What an exectional beauty. Love the cw and the calming scene. Congrats for tracking it down!

Congratulations! It's beautiful. I love the colors. I have noticed this one before especially since I live in New England now. None of the other color ways has appealed to me as much as this one. The colors remind me somewhat of neutral mythiques Phoenix. I had no idea it looked so good tied. I might have to add this one to my list. Wear it I good health.

Weibandy, Pocketbook Pup, Bostonjetset, and Vivelebag - Thank you so much for sharing my joy! I am so delighted to have found it. It's not that I had given up complete hope, but almost.

But reading this thread over the last month reminded me of many resellers with their own websites that I used to haunt but hadn't looked at all year long (house projects will do that to you). And there it was, for just slightly above retail. Who knows? It might have been sitting patiently there for sale for months. Or it could have been listed that morning. But I bought it immediately when I saw it. I'm really looking forward to wearing it this week.

You know, I may eat my words here, (I certainly have before), but I think I'm done looking backwards. I don't have anything from the past that I'm dying to have. Tohu Bohu? Check. La Femme? Check. Turandot? Check. Cave Felem? Check. The grailiest-grails I've got.

Now I'm much more enthusiastic about future seasons and what designs will be the next new grails. Based on so many wonderful modeling shots of Sieste du Paradis, I'm gambling that it will be considered a grail a few years from now.

It's scarf speculation by a Hermes lemming :p

Congratulations TT ,how truly beautiful this colour way is .I've never seen it before so thank you for sharing. I'm sure you will wear this to bits , it will be so easy to wear and could go casual or formal on the head of a pin.
I have always loved this design but the colour ways I saw before did not appeal to me at all , so I've never considered looking for one before.

Oh it's lovely! [emoji7]. Congrats on finding your Grail! That's so exciting! Wow. The time it took only makes it more special n'est pas?

I haven't been this excited about something scarf-related in a while!!! And I agree with you about the other cws. I maybe could see Chestnutty's mint/gray, but the others, the pink, blue, and grassy green? No way.

Isn't it a shame when a great design suffers from poor colorizations? I felt the same way about Le Monde est Vast in 90cm. The mousses had more flattering color combos.

I feel like I've been running a marathon and just crossed the finish line! :biguns:

A great lesson in patience I think. TT waited for just the right color way. Smart.

Yes, I think that's the only way to do it, otherwise that grail might be tinged with regret. There's only one thing I actively sought that I ended up settling for in a different colorway - the red Les Normands. (More here)

Les Normands.jpg

I was searching for Dressage Queen's purple one, but Les Normands come up for sale so rarely - it was released only once back in 1971 (same year as Skyros, in fact) - that I decided the opportunity may never come again. But I look great in red, so it was no great tragedy

This scarf is perfection on you!!

Congratulations, TT!!
I have Les Jardins in blue with bits of bricky red. The color suits me and I purchased it because we spent a good chunk of time living in the wilds of Massachusetts in the 80s. I tend(ed) to choose scarves that evoked a feeling or memory in me. Good, bad or indifferent, Massachusetts, was where our baby was born 32 years ago and that memory alone brightens all others.
I saw that a seller had my colorway for way more than it cost new. I don't think I've ever even worn it. Now, I shall have to dig it out of my collection to revisit it! Maybe I will wear it soon.

Congratulations, TT! Lovely scarf and you wear it beautifully!

I am sorry. It always sucks to lose a purchase but I also think you probably hesitated because this scarf was not the right one for you. Also, I have to confess it was me [emoji17]

I was actually out to brunch with a girlfriend and had to stop mid conversation as soon as I got the email alert from anns just to buy this. I have the c'est la fete in gray but have been searching for mr. prune boots skeleton for years. I think this cw makes it look very multidimensional and I like the pop accent. I actually ordered it online but back then the website mixed up the cws and sent me the one with the prune background. While that was lovely, I did not want it and sent it back. And unfortunately the one I wanted was such a popular cw that I was never able to find it.

This has been a busy acquisition week with luckily finding three scarves that I have been hunting for years - mr prune boots, the white Pegase d'hermes, and a red Quai Aux Fleur. I am very content with my current collection and will probably be adding only one or two scarves a year now. Sending lots of good karma to all of you who still have a long list of grails. It will eventually happen!

Perfumegirl, I tried writing back to you. But your mailbox is full.
