I am so sorry to hear this- it is SO frustrating when it happens. My grail twilly (De Passage à Tokyo) was on Ebay some time ago and I was sniped out in the last second. I was SO upset. I hope that you will be able to get your grail scarf!

That sucks! I really wanted you to win that one.
Usually what I do is use biddingscheduler.com, a site someone else on here suggested (it's free), to schedule a bid for the last 10 seconds of the auction. So I guess that is kind of sniping. But I do it because 1. sometimes my internet connection is wonky, or I'm traveling, so I don't want to worry about being on the computer at a certain time, and 2. that also forces me to decide the highest amount I'll pay for a scarf and stick to it without getting caught up in a bidding war.
I'm sure another one will come along--I will keep an eye out for you!
A sniper is someone who uses a computer program to place their bid within a second or two (literally) of the auction closing. So you might be the high bidder up till then and t hen get outbid with no time to rebid. Some people think it's perfectly OK (such as EB) and some people think they should be shot with their own gun. At close range. With real bullets....That being said, I may have to stoop to that level when it comes to grails. Haven't decided yet....
