I wanted one every since Jessica Simpson showed hers on her reality show back in the day. But when I priced it, I was he!! to the no! That's crazy! And then time went by and I had my Juicy Couture obsession... Juicy bags were what? $175-250? And I had like 20. So actually I spent MORE on Juicy than if I would have bought that one speedy.

It seems like Juicy Couture could be considered a gateway drug! Its interesting to know that was the beginning brand for others as well. I remember I bought my first one for like $125 and I felt like it was SO much money! #Perspective

I'm not sure where my obsession came from, but from an early age, I've always wanted a Louis Vuitton purse.

I remember in the 5th grade I bought a "MC pochette" at platos closet. My mom took me to the mall where LV was so I could ask if it was real. The SA was nice enough to tell me that the MC pochette consisted of several of different colors and mine only had a few. (Even tho they aren't supposed to do that, I think it was my age haha) In the meantime, I collected Juicy Couture and Betsey Johnson purses.

Anyways, after I graduated HS and started working full time, I decided to head on over to my nearest LV to buy a speedy 30. It was a really great experience.

The SA was super nice and she told me that I would be back soon enough because it was addicting!

Well, she was right... a couple of months later I went back and bought a neverfull MM and then a pochette.

My dad bought me my first LV, a mono Speedy 25, when I was 16! He was taking his annual trip to Las Vegas, and I had heard they had great shopping there. Prior to this trip he had always brought me back something from Tiffany, but I was just entering my bag phase and wanted my very first designer purse. Fell in love with the Speedy 25 online and printed out a picture for him to show the SA at LV (I knew he would never remember to ask for monogram Speedy 25). Loved it immediately when I took it out of the box once he brought it home for me. I still carry it to this day and it makes me smile. Sometimes I had wished I had asked for the 30 since that size suits my needs better today, but the little 25 was perfect when I was 16.

The year was 1980"and the lady sitting in front of me in church had this darling monogram tote and I fell in love. Since I was right out of college it took a while for me research and decide on the speedy25.'a few yesterday later I purchased a monogram clutch, Speedy 40 which was bought in Paris along with the never full. I've bought assorted pochette , eye glass holders, key chain, and scarves. The years go by and the collection continues to grow. You can't beat the simple classic pieces.

I bought my first LV back in the 90's. The bag I thought was my first was a fake off of the Bay. I took it to Neiman Marcus two hours away as we had no LV store near me, to ask them if it was a fake, as I had my doubts as soon as I opened the package. The saleslady told me that they could not authenticate (I was very naive back then) but she quietly shook her head and with that she verified that my bag was fake. I was heartbroken but wanted a real LV so badly so I bought a Cabas Piano on the spot. My daughter, who was 4 or 5, was with me. I remember telling her "If you tell your dad how much I paid for this bag, I will have to kill you." Probably not the best thing to say in front of the sales staff!

I grew up in a really poor family and I've only had 2 pairs of jeans and a few t shirts even in the winter time with a coat. So when I was 18 and started working in a salon, all these women would come in with theor LV. I had no idea but thought how come they all carry the same bag? Needless to say it wasn't the same bag but in monogram so they all looked the same to the 18 years old me. Then I found out it cost $225 for a speedy 25 at the time and so did my rent.

So I told my BFF at the time let's save $25 a a month and in a year it'll be $300 so we can purchase one together. So we did. We kept the tradition for 15 years but the prices kept going up so $300 a year turned into $600 in 2 years and $900 in 3 years and now everything is over $1500 so we just recently stopped. But that's how I funded my LVs. It's also a thing my BFF and I did together. We saved together and went and gotten our first LV together. It's was our "thing"!

I love reading everyone's stories! I got mine when I was 27. I had recently joined the Purse Forum because I started to admire designer handbags in the stores and wanted to know more! I spent hours on the LV forum and then on the LV website trying to figure out which one was my favorite. I had never spent more than $100 on a purse, so I had to make sure I was ready to commit! I got it for myself as a reward for the many hours I put in on my job- way over the "40 hours a week." I know a lot of people start their collections with a speedy or a neverfull, but neither appealed to me. After much thought and deliberation, I decided on the Tivoli pm. My husband drove me to the LV store in the Jersey Gardens Mall, and I loved the Tivoli on first sight! Even though I have since purchased a few more bags, I still adore it

I was not interesting in bags or brands at all. But after moving to Dubai and everyone here talk about bags, plus I make some extra money my husband bring me to LV store. Practically he choose for me, after I bring it home I was not really happy because there is not a shoulder handle. But now 8 years past and the bag still in perfect condition. I really apresúrate the quality of the bag and I get other 3 bags and wallet recently and planing to expand my collection. I love the fact that this cabana bags are care free and still looks great after years of use. I start to get other brand bags like Chanel but at the end I feel more comfortable using LV, because I don't need to care about rain or scratches.

I've always loved bags. Even as a child I loved them...my first designer item was a dooney and bourke heart bag in 2004. I also loved Rebecca minkoff in college. After college I wanted an LV and purchased a preloved speedy 30 in pretty rough condition. I still have her now but her handles are in bad shape. Then I never got more LV for a while but when I moved to Europe for 2 years I knew I wanted to get one since they're cheaper. I got a mono neverfull mm 2 months before moving back to the us in 2015. Since then I've also added a DE 35 speedy (which I think I'm selling...it's too big for me unfortunately), a Mews which I adore, and a DA neverfull mm. I love all my LVs and they're each very special to me. I hope to add more to my collection. If you're trying to get it on a tight budget, I suggest fashionphile. Good luck!

Just like so many of you I have always had a love for accessories! Started with Coach, then MK and of course moved on to ToryB... but always with the thought of a LV in my mind. I am a teacher and I never thought in my wildest dreams I would ever come to own a True Luxury handbag. Well my husband got a new job and it really changed our lives for the better in so many ways. He always knew I wanted a LV. I had pointed them out to him many times usually the Neverfull or the Speedy. At Christmas I went to open my large present and there it was! The Neverfull MM in RB! I cried I was SO surprised! He has bought me a few more bags for mothers day/anniversary and birthday presents since then. Every time I go look in my closet I am still shocked and surprised that I have them!

My first LV bag was a gift from my dad. The monogram artsy. At 44 yrs old I decided to change careers from a graphic designer for 18 yrs to a hairstylist. I went to cosmetology school and when I graduated my dad presented me with a large LV box. He said "a new career deserves an amazing bag" He started me on my louie journey. He passed away a year later.

These are really, really lovely stories!

My first LV was a hand-me-down St. Cloud from my mother. For a while I didn't understand the handbag obsession my mom has but now I'm hooked. When I graduate this May, my mother will give me my first new LV (Speedy B 25 in DE) which is already hiding in her closet. I also have been saving to buy myself a new piece - perhaps a Felicie? That will be my first LV bought with my own money! I really am so grateful to my parents for the unending kindness and dedication to me. Without them, I would not be graduating from the school I went to, much less have ANY handbags.
