I have a Sloan & Alex bag that I love. The leather is really soft (although a little on the thinner side) but I got it several years ago and it's held up real well.

It's a British brand but I think all their bags are made in Italy. I will need to double check.

My "obscure" brand is Valextra. No logo and most people can't identify it at a glance. I have their bags, wallets, writing folders, etc...

Smythson are my stationers (I actually am looking forward to getting a new set for my new place) and I have some of their card cases in chèvre, but I haven't looked at their bags yet.
