Good advice! I don’t usually go matchy matchy but I did end up taking home the one that matches well with more of my current pieces.

Welcome to my world! And I agree that it’s only a matter of time before you ring wants more friends so the question is more like which one I should get “first”

Here are a few pics of me playing with different combinations. Will see if they have the butterflies to try on next time.

I DIE!! :-)

I’m looking for some opinions. I’m already planning on my “Me Gift” for a big birthday. Most of VCA’s statement rings are BTF rings. I’ve always been reluctant to commit because they can’t be resized. I recently sized up (and I mean a significant upsize) all of my rings. My love rings no longer fit and just sit around. After having my daughter, no part of my body went back to its original size. How do I get comfortable spending a significant amount of money on a BTF ring? The only non-BTF rings that are comparable, I think, are the noeud and flower lace rings.

How exciting to plan for your big day! I copied a few pics (but I don’t remember from where— perhaps this forum????) if someone knows, pls chime in. Mods, if it’s inappropriate since I cannot credit, pls delete. (I copied them for my own inspiration when I thought I wanted a BTF ring

I hear you. My fingers feel like yo-yo most of the time. I wear really loose rings so during summer time when they swell up, they fit well and then rest of the year they are on the loose side. I am okay with that but I understand your concern.

Both non-BTF rings you mentioned are spectacular options to consider. If you want statement rings that are not BTF, they get my vote.

I struggled with size a lot for my lotus and now I am going through same thing for a second btf ring. My fingers have not changed much over the years but I do find they are always swollen now that I live in a tropical climate. So I have been buying rings a half size USA up. For the lotus I bought the correct size for the fingers I will mostly wear it on but those are my larger fingers. When my fingers are really swollen I just wear on other fingers. I also bought for my right hand and my left fingers are all smaller. I figure if my fingers ever get much bigger I can always switch to left hand. That is how I got comfortable with size.
Otherwise you can always size up and get a silicon sizer to make the ring tight. Might give you peace of mind.
I still wish I had gone one more euro size up and used a sizer since I will likely be in this hot place for awhile. But as soon as I move home my fingers will shrink and it will fit well.

Hi! I love big rings, and especially the BTF rings. I think they really make a nice statement.
For me, if I loved BTF rings, I would get it because any other ring is not the same.

Some thoughts for encouragement...
I wear my rings loose, very loose, and I have never had an issue with a BTF ring falling off, so I think if you buy the ring loose, you will be fine. To give you a perspective of how loose I wear my rings... if I were to flick my wrist really fast to try and make the ring fall off, yes it will fall off. Obviously, I don't go around flicking my wrist on purpose trying to do that. However, even as loose as my rings are, they never fall off. With the BTF rings, I find it's actually harder to make the ring flick off. This is because the design of ring spans over two fingers, so they literally are on your fingers.

I also want to share the reason why I wear my rings loose. My fingers tend to fluctuate a lot. My finger is the fattest first thing when I wake up, and I would say it fluctuates by a half or even a whole size. When I purchased my Frivole BTF, I went with the larger size. I flew home and then it felt too big on a skinny finger day. I asked my SA to send me the smaller size so I could have both to compare during my morning fat finger moment (I would return one). The smaller fit fine, but on fat finger morning it was snug to put on which I did not like. I decided on stay with the larger size, and I am so happy I did! Yes, at times it's loose, but on the days when it's hot or my fingers are fat, it feels great. If your fingers fluctuate, that's another reason to get it slightly looser.

Also, I've stated this before in other posts, but I am not a fan of the tight ring sausage finger look. It's like wearing jeans that are too tight and then you get the dreaded muffin top look which makes a person look fatter than they are. I think a looser ring makes the fingers look slimmer.

Okay... enough about sizing and fit. I think if your fingers have stabilized, you will love a BTF ring. The FlowerLace would be my next choice, and I love that ring too. However, it's not the same if you love BTFs. My heart goes to Frivole and then Lotus. I have both, but if I could only have one, it would be my blingy WG Pave Frivole BTF. It's all sparkle.

I hope that helps. Good luck to you!

UPDATE: And yes, at times, my rings flip because they are loose. I wear big rings, so they never flip all the way around, only to the side slightly. But I love that they flip! I told my SA I need to be sure my rings flip a bit. For me, I feel it gives the "my fingers are so skinny, my rings are too big vibe".

OMG, yes this exactly! I love your entire post and point of view and I wear my rings loose too! Sometimes, as with my Bulgari serpenti ring, I think my fingers swell up and recede in air conditioning
