Are there any digital luxury or dress watch options for a small woman’s wrist?

I love jewelry and watches but I am also a daily runner and need a digital watch option that looks nice with my gold and diamond jewelry. I already have a few smart watches from Apple Watch and Garmin, but I am a low-tech person and I want a watch without a computer. I drive to a park after work to run, so I prefer to wear one watch from work to exercise so that I don’t have to leave the nice watch in my car at the park. Thanks!

Photos of some of my current watches to stay on topic. My current digital watches are so cute, but I need something that can hold its own with my jewelry better, made with real gold or stainless at the least!

You have an outstanding watch collection! I’m not into digital watches but you might find something in the Swatch line (?). There are small independent watchmakers that try to copy or recreate Casio’s G Shock. Maybe a deep dive on Chron24 for ideas? I’m sorry, this is a pathetic attempt to help you😄

Thank you so much on all counts! I don’t even know where to start, I’ve just been googling luxury digital watches or digital dress watches, with very little success. Your ideas are so helpful and appreciated!

What I've seen around are people using dressier bands or straps for their Apple Watches. Lagos is a brand that has a selection of more jewelry like bands in sterling silver, with gold, ceramic or even diamond accents. The other thing I do when wearing my Apple Watch in a dressier setting is change out the face to something more minimal and color coordinated to what I am wearing.

Keeping on topic, the watches I wear are my stainless steel Apple Watch, two tone Cartier Tank Francaise Automatic, and Rolex 31 mm Oystersteel and white gold, fluted bezel with a white face and roman numerals.

Thank you! I actually have an Apple Watch and Garmin GPS watch, but I am so bad with tech that I have problems with them everyday! I try to turn off the phone and internet access on them so they just function as watches (I only use them for the stopwatch to time my runs, but I would be ok with just a really classy-looking digital watch and I could just figure out how long I ran for based on the starting and ending times).

Your most worn watches are a great selection. I would love to add a Cartier Tank! I love the Americaine, but I guess it was discontinued. The two tone Tank Francoise is gorgous! I love the mix of structured form with the warmth of the two-tone.

Thank you for the idea to look on chrono24 for options. I want a watch that looks like a traditional metal watch, but with a digital display. These 2 seem to fit the description, and the price is right! Thanks!

I am a creature of habit, and I adore this watch. It makes me so happy. I bought it years ago at a used jewelry shop, and I have worn it ever since, despite loving men's watches and my husband having a great watch collection. None bring me the joy that this one does! It's an old Omega Seamaster, gold-filled not solid gold, so the patina has rubbed off a lot; I call it well-loved, and I really love how it has aged. The band is also my favorite style! I lost a pusher out of the side years ago, and never could find a replacement in the same color, so it has a non-matching one in it 🤗 Much like my wedding ring, it will have to be pried out of my cold dead hands, and no other watch or ring could bring me joy like those two pieces! ❤️ Also I am right-handed but only wear it on my right wrist, I don't like the feeling of things on the left since I tend to carry my bags on that wrist!

Hi Nicole!

I used Fitbits for years but had recurring problems with the charging docks and swore off them. I now just use the bezel on a sports watch as you could do with your Rolex with the numbered black bezel. The bezel you have on that Rolex should give you accuracy to a minute. You just twist the bezel around so the 0 - the triangle on your bezel, points to the tip of wherever your minute hand is when you start your run, then when you stop, the minutes you’ve run is given by the number on the bezel next to the minute hand at that moment.

It works for me and there’s no risk of disruption through calls or power issues. You don’t have to remember anything or calculate anything beyond twisting your bezel to point to the minute hand at the start of your activity and looking down at the minutes on the bezel when you stop. On your Rolex bezel, only the 5 minute intervals are numbered on the bezel after the first 15 minutes but you’ll see the the points on the steel teeth that encircle the bezel correspond to one minute each so you can easily read the number of minutes

If you run for over an hour, you’ll be aware of that so if the minute hand is pointing to 15 on the bezel when you stop, you’ll realise that means you’ve run for 1hr 15 mins rather than 15mins so that’s not a problem. Obviously if you are timing short sprints for comparative purposes then digital is probably your only option.

It works equally well whether you want to measure the time you’ve done or set a time goal. Obviously you do exactly same thing in twisting the triangle/ zero to point to the minute hand. If your goal is a 30 minute swim, you are swimming until the minute hand points to 30 on your bezel, - and that’s really easy to see at a glance.

I wish I’d started using bezels for this earlier.

Thank you so very much!!
I had a vague idea that sport watches with a numbered bezel could be used for timing, but I had no idea how it worked logistically.
You have explained it so clearly and now I realize that I already have the perfect watch.
I have actually run with the black Rolex sub a few times just because it was pouring rain and pitch black outside, and I wanted something totally water resistant that was also illuminated. The great thing about these sport watches are that the dial is so easy to read.
You have me all excited again about the design and utility of sport watches, now I realize that they are for runners and swimmers too, and that makes me love mine even more!

You can also buy a chronograph watch, i.e. a wristwatch that includes a stopwatch complication; a complication = any feature on an analog watch that goes beyond just telling the time. Since you have a bunch of Rolexes @nicole0612, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the Daytona, which is Rolex's chronograph. (But getting a Daytona is like...getting an Hermes Birkin...it's a whole thing...I digress.)

Your Submariner is 41mm. It's definitely possible to find smaller chronographs, around 29-34mm, especially on a resale app like Chrono24. If I wanted a swanky-but-reasonably-priced analog running watch, I'd get a stainless chronograph with a quartz (battery operated) movement. If you don't want to break the bank but you want a solid Swiss watch in your collection, I recommend the brand Tissot. They are usually a few hundred dollars. I have a sporty Tissot PRC 100 for several years, not the chronograph version, and it's what I wear when I'm doing sporty/rugged stuff like swimming or yard work. I don't run unless zombies are chasing me, but if I did run, and if I did get mugged, I wouldn't be as upset at losing a Tissot PRC as I would a Rolex Sub...

Furthermore, you could swap out a metal bracelet for an aftermarket strap, which would be much easier to keep clean. @Prada Prince just posted a fabulous yellow chronograph with a silicone strap, matched with a yellow diamond ring.

Hope that helps. Good luck! :flowers:

That is very helpful, thank you!
A Daytona is on my list, but at that price point and buy-in requirement, I would baby it and not use it to exercise with.

I appreciate the specific recommendations, that is helpful. I looked up the Tissot PRC 100, but I think the numbers on the chronograph are a little small for me to see while running. Basically I just need something that I can glance at quickly while running to check if I am at an hour +/- when I finish up my loop, and then I get in my car and go home! I am also a little unusual, but I prefer to exercise with metal bands vs rubber, they feel less icky if they get sweaty and actually seem easier to deep clean every now and then. With Garmin watches and Apple watches, I would just throw out the band every few months because they would get dirty.

I’m not worried about being mugged at all, I wear all of my jewelry when running, but it is always cold here, so long sleeves and gloves are worn 9-10 months of the year.
Thank you for the input!

I’m not surprised you are pleased. That’s is one gorgeous watch! Who wouldn’t be happy to take that out for a run? 😂

That is a beautiful watch! I love seeing the older models and the little design changes that have been made throughout the years. Thank you for sharing.
I also wear my watch on my right wrist and am right handed! Wearing it on my left wrist just never felt right to me.
