Michael Kors Would you tell a friend her bag is fake?

I think some bags you really need to be up close and take a good look at (the little details of the hardware, the lining, etc.) but I'm not doing this in public so the ones I saw were super obvious. I can't tell you how many I saw with this emblem:

I saw it on a lot of cross body bags and a few handbags. In addition to that, the cross bodies that I saw all had the MK lettering on the material but the colors were off. The lettering looked faint/faded compared to what it would look like on an authentic bag.
I also saw a fake studded/quilted N/S Hamilton. The lock was way off and the chains on the handle were too small and flimsy looking.
So, yesterday's shopping trip was a flop in terms of finding what I had set out for, but I did have fun looking at everyone's bags lol
This thread is so what happened to me the other day. My friend(of over 15 years) came over and she was carrying a hobo bag with ostrich leather and it had this same MK emblem on the bottom of the handle. My mom was there and she says "Oh thats a nice Michael Kors" and my friend says "thanks my BF brought this when he was in Virginia" and my mom proceeds to tell her about the MK bags I brought her a few months ago from the MK boutique and shows her the $248 wallet I got her. So we chat some more and my friend leaves and I tell my mom that her bag was a fake and how I didnt have the heart to tell her and thinking back I dont think I ever would cause I know she knows its not real, besides how would I look rubbing it in her face that I could afford all these MK bags for my mom and her BF buys her a fake one. Its just not something I would do

Well if you believe that your friend knows that it's not authentic then there's no reason to bring it up, so I completely see why you wouldn't say anything. I wouldn't either!

Oh crap, I think I've seen those too! But I thought I saw them online in some of the small cross bodies from major retailers. I don't buy those small bags, so no worries there, but that's scary. I don't want to get flimflammed! Lol

I don't think I've seen that emblem on bags from any major retailers, I think it's unlikely that they're selling fakes. Usually the metal MK part is cut-out and you can see the material of the bag through the hollow parts or there's a piece of leather behind it. But these fakes appear to be a solid piece of plastic.
Here's a stock photo of a real one, you can see the difference:

It's bugging the crap out of me. She's never owned a designer handbag so she doesn't know. She's proud of the gift and blasting it all over FB and tagged me and our other two best friends in the pic so now everyone has seen them, even my friends. I was tagged in the pictures so I've had people inboxing me like umm those are fake. And asked if I said anything to her because they know how close we are. Maybe its just me, but if you are going to buy me a gift don't buy me a knockoff just don't buy me a handbag period. But maybe even he doesn't know. I'm sure he doesn't.

How old are you if you dont
Mind me asking?
