Alright, well I'm odd man out, because I wouldn't say anything. Confront the guy? NO WAY.

I'm with you. No way I would say anything. When it comes to a woman that thinks she's in love... You will be the one who gets the short end of this stick no matter how genuine and good your intentions were. She will most likely shoot the messenger.

Agreed. If she's in love, she won't hear anything you have to say and you will be blamed for it too.

If it's your best friend, heck yes tell her! It's not like she'll hate you if it's fake. That's her BF's problem. You don't want your friend walking around with a fake bag! I see those everywhere and think, why would anybody want to walk around with that. Good luck!

If she simply loved her gifts and was NOT bragging, posting pictures, and drawing attention to these gifts then I would say there is no need to mention it unless she asked you. She clearly thinks they are legit and is bragging....If she brings up the general subject of the items again, I would let her know they are not authentic (dont say FAKE because that sounds more judgmental).

Yeah, I generally would keep my mouth shut since it's such a touchy subject and I wouldn't want to start trouble... but since she's putting it out there for everyone to see, I'd want her to know the truth...
It's funny because I never really paid much attention to other people's handbags unless they carried one that really caught my eye. But since I joined this forum, I'm always looking at bags now and I saw so many fake MKs at the mall earlier today. I don't really care that these people have fake bags, but I wouldn't want my friend to unknowingly be one of them.

I've never seen a fake MK in person. What are tell tale signs?

I think some bags you really need to be up close and take a good look at (the little details of the hardware, the lining, etc.) but I'm not doing this in public so the ones I saw were super obvious. I can't tell you how many I saw with this emblem:

I saw it on a lot of cross body bags and a few handbags. In addition to that, the cross bodies that I saw all had the MK lettering on the material but the colors were off. The lettering looked faint/faded compared to what it would look like on an authentic bag.
I also saw a fake studded/quilted N/S Hamilton. The lock was way off and the chains on the handle were too small and flimsy looking.
So, yesterday's shopping trip was a flop in terms of finding what I had set out for, but I did have fun looking at everyone's bags lol

Thank you. I've been seeing a lot of bags with this emblem and I thought they were fake. However, I wasn't sure if it was an outlet bag or not since I've never been to one...... :smile1:
