I don't know how it is in the US or in Spain, but in Germany, shops that are selling different brands usually have their bags on display and you are lucky if they have some stock of the same style and color as those on their display, so I guess I I would have to buy those.
If I love it strong enough, and the style is getting hard to find, I honestly would take it. As long as no damage is done.
