No, I haven't gotten the new one yet. I actually have my SA looking for one for me (Gold 35 or 32 HAC in Fjord, Togo or Clemence with PHW).

The Ebene bag would be separate from his gift--I would be paying for this one myself. I think I could figure out a way to explain to him that each and every H bag is so totally different, and this one just spoke to me, but that I knew he wouldn't want to gift me with a "used" bag, so that's why I bought it. Not sure if he'd quite follow that, though!! LOL

He does definitely have a strong opinion on H bags, that's for sure, and has actually said some hilariously blunt things in boutiques on occasion.


Edited: Awww, Hlfinn, that was nice of you! He'd be sliiiightly more amazing if I could just grab a black card and go crazy with it, but other than that, he's just about perfect ;) LOL!!

i'm sure you can figure out some way to convince him ;) i could always give him some hints. you know, my kind of hints. LOL.

if only i could find one like him. sigh.

Cynthia, I think you can convince him that this is something you want too and you can pay for it yourself... my DH does care about Hermes but can't quite understand why I need so much...but if it is important to me so be it.

Thanks for the offer of hinting, but I actually haven't even hardly mentioned this bag to him! :shame: I'd rather try to see if I can pay for it myself and just be quiet about it until and unless I bring it home. Especially because of the current situation with Ursula (which, hello, you didn't call me & I want to hear about Howie).

HK, thanks so much for the kind words and for listening to me go back and forth on this...I think I just need a sounding board sometimes, and so many of you at tPF are so great! You really understand! :heart:

I have taught my Bf well.... He knows some H colors and the appropriate names!! He has opinions on H bags , the sizes and colors!!
He supports my habit :sweatdrop:
as i learn about H, I teach him!!!
Its all about drilling the information but being delicate!!
Its an art form, what can I say!!
He jokes and says that when he wakes up at night, I am whispering " Rouge croc birkin, Gold HW" over and over!!! :graucho:
I call it Hermes Hypnosis!!! :okay:

My husband knows a *lot* about H bags. Recently he saw a fake white one, and I swear to you, he gave it a dirty look from across the room! LOL
He defnitely doesn't like certain colors, and to be honest he prefers Kellys over Birkins, but just because he has an opinion doesn't mean I have to listen to it!! :graucho:

The good news is, he wants me to be happy (um, within reason. and without bankrupting us), so basically he encourages me to buy what I will enjoy. To a limit!

Wow -- that's impressive!! My DH can actually tell a fake Goyard, but I think that's because we spent a while in the Goyard store in Paris last year. I've been into Balenciaga for a while, so he also spots some fakes occasionally. And the thing is that once I actually get him into H (it's going to be a big hurdle!!!), I know he'll be great about it and give me his opinions. He's a pretty good shopper. But Hermes training is going to take a while I think :sneaky: I may just have to try Minnie's subliminal sleep talking approach.

My DH loves the smell of barenia and likes to stun SAs by identifying leathers in the display cases...today he shunned a rouge H swift Lindy I was offered..."too serious a color for that bag"...!
Minnie, I like your philosophy!

My SO said " A team of Accountants and Auditors came into my office and this one was wearing a 35 cm croc braise birkin! It must have been the fakest thing I have ever seen!"

I am so proud of him :girlsigh:
