Would you buy/own two of the exact same bag?

Not with bags, but I do this with shoes. If I find a pair that are actually comfortable & while they're still available I'll get more because the shoes will definitely get worn out. This really shouldn't happen with a bag, unless it's a bag you wear everyday.
Exactly! I know if my mom or I see something we will get two of them one for each of us. Only if we each know what we like... Kind of like keep an eye on this Coach bag and when you see it on sale grab two of them.
My first thought was that the second one was for a gift, also. I guess I can see that.
The only thing I ever bought two of, EXACTLY the same, is a pair of pants that I got two pair of, exactly the same, same size, same color - because they were/are discontinuing that style and they were on sale for $5 a pair!! I ordered two of the last 5 they had, and believe me, I was tempted to buy all 5, lol!!

I think there are several Bal owners on tPF that have multiples of the same bag/color/season. And I suppose I can get why with Balenciaga. Sometimes are bag will be really smooth and sometimes the very same bag had loads of distressing. So in a way, it's a different bag. I wouldn't get it with any other brand. Although I do get the back-up idea.
I do buy multiples of shoes--but only running shoes. I have two back-up pair right now. I don't like getting fitted for new running shoes so I stock up. Right now I'm set for the next 1.5 years (I just pulled out a new pair and will run in those for six months and then have two more pair for the next year).

I've purchased 2 of the the exact same bags. Nothing designer, more PVC style bags. Just if I like a bag a lot, I can't bear not being able to replace it. I will get a second one and store that away. For some reason, it makes me feel better about really using the 1st bag, I am less anal about keeping it perfectly perfect and just let go and enjoy it like crazy until it's ready to be replaced w the one in the closet
I've never bought two exactly same bags but I want to. I got a tan Coach Delphin bag a couple of years ago and I knew directly that even thought it was way bigger than expected that I would use it a lot. A few months later I was so in love with the bag that I made a standing search on Ebay to find another one. Almost three years later and I still haven't found one. I've used this bag almost everyday since and here's the thing. I don't baby it and I don't want to. I place it on the floor and it gets drenched in the rain and it's ok because I don't wanna stress out over my everyday bag. I do however wanna replace it when it gets too worn out. In my case it's a $650 bag, not sure I would feel the same about a 2K bag though.
I got 2 RM mini Nikkis in 2 different colors. I also have the MAM in 2 colors. I love the styles so much that I had to have it in different colors. Plus, this way I can rotate the colors and not put all the wear into one bag! I do the same with clothes and shoes too. If you love it, why not get it in a different color? It's so hard to find comfy clothes that fit right - same with shoes especially.
Well yeah, I'd buy (and have bought) multiples of the same bag in different colors. But I wouldn't buy the same exact bag in the same color more than once, unless it was a bag I was so enamoured with I wanted a back-up, and like I posted earlier, I came close but it sold before I could buy it.

Yes, I have some bags exact same model, same year , same colour! Should I like the leather a lot , it's comforting to know there's a back-up! I do this with scents too..it could become discontinued..and also with fav cookbooks..I could spill on a page..and with shoes..it's hard to find shoes that fit me well..and with a lot of stuff I have duplicates..isn't this rather normal?!! 
Oh....then no, I wouldn't get the same bag in the same color twice. Seems like a waste of $$ to me
If I had the $ to blow, I would, to save on wear and tear of one bag, but I can't justify it right now.I do have 2 pairs of pants in gray (same style) only because they were heavily discounted.

I don't know if you are joking or not.. are you?:wondering I can't imagine where you'd store all this stuff. Heck, I've got two 10' x 25' storage units I am paying rent on for 'stuff' I most likely don't need...and clothes I will fit into some day
I try and try to eliminate things to fit into one unit, but it is so hard to part with some items. I can only imagine if I started collecting things in two's

Oh no, far too serious matter to joke about! Listen, I like bags from a small company, and their leather supplies can run out faster than lightening, so if I like a model and leather..and if it's an in stock bag, I'll hunt one down , when I realise I really really like the bag! But I do have too many..I'm the first to admit this!
And scents..they get discontunued or even worse..reformulated! So I have a good stock of scents by Guerlain, Weil, Westwood , SL etc.etc. in twos/threes and even more! So I'm safe the next couple of hundred years !
But I'm seriously running out of space too LOL! ..though I am good to discard stuff not in use or I give it away if it's usable for others. I don't like my home to look like a shop, so until now I have succesfully been able to store in cupboards, shelves and in the attic. But I'm considering a part of the stables..as a back up for storage..hahaha!
