all over the world as long as it is distribution shop of Hermes. If it is franchise, then it would not be in the system
But how are they able to do that? I don't need to give them my passport when I'm buying at my home boutique and I don't necessary use the same credit card.

I think as long as you only have one name and use the same name to make purchases. My name is the same on my passport and cc. I just came back from Asia and only has one name thus all H invoices (whether US or Asia purchase) have my full name printed.
Normally Hermes can see through the system by your name. The passport number is not necessary. And passport copy is literally for confirm your payment. Hermes can also see through the credit card number, which means by comparing the credit card number which used for payment ,Hermes can see who ever purchased with this certain credit card but invoice under someone else's name. That's basically is to avoid the situation that many resellers use different names to purchase bags.
hmmm.... Although I usually care about privacy issues and prefer not to provide my personal info, in this case I actually hope that H would figure out who might be potential resellers via passport numbers as I wouldn't be surprised that they have multiple customers with the same names, or that we don't always use the same cc. But I guess there's no perfect way to do this. Passport numbers change when you renew it.
Thanks for answering though.

Thanks so much for your knowledge! I have a question about cc... My husband and I have the same cc number (2 different physical cards obviously; but the cc number is the same, and same account), my SA suggests to me to send my husband in if my other bag comes in a few weeks (we have the 1 bag per season policy in our home store), but now if they can see the same cc under a different name, Wld I get black listed unintentionally? I don't just buy leather goods or bags, but pretty much in all categories and for many years... While sa's know me here at my home stores, in Paris they don't (obviously lol). Just don't want to get black listed while I'm there... [emoji29]. Thanks in advance!
I haven't noticed that what I post has been an independent thread, and as it has been, I would try my best to answer or share as much as I can with all of people here.
I have to notice first, it's really difficult to answer any question as " how to buy a Birkin bag", because the answer varies from shop to shop, country to country, every shop manager has his own way to decide whether to sell a bag. I would try my best to solve your puzzle or misunderstanding. But really I can't help to have a bag. Thank you all first for comprehension.
This is interesting, because it's so very different from what my SAs have told me about how and when Hermes staff are allowed to purchase goods.
Since you did note that these are few of the many H clientele, perhaps you should define "blacklisted" as I am seeing it now be defined as "banished" and you actually did not describe what being blacklisted entailed, if anything (?) This may halt our worst assumptions.Don't worry, they don't usually put people on blacklist very often, unless some very obvious resellers, they would understand your situation as you are a family and it's quite common to pay with one card

And on that point since it's been raised, in your experience, have you ever known of anyone actually being banished from shopping at H?
