True!!! I've never attempted to go black friday but my friends have. I've gone some other holiday weekends and it was a disaster. Best time is during the week in the mornings.

So whats the verdict.... Is it really better deals on BFriday sales . I am ONLY interested in high end designer stuff like Chanel, Gucci, YSL etc I am going to fly from Houston for one day just to shop at Woodbury BFriday sale....now am scared after reading that its a nightmare ! I am a hardcore shopper and can stand the crowds...but hours in line to get into shop or to pay is a bit too much esp in high end designer stores ! Am sooooo confused now what to do now ! Pleaseeeee tell me if going late on friday morning will be better and will the sales still be around ...any ideas/tips will be great....thanks again

Oh, by most people's definition, I am a hardcore shopper. However, the traffic on Black Friday alone is enough to turn me off. Perhaps I'd feel differently if someone else would drive for a change. And I must say...waiting a half hour in line to pay isn't exactly appealing, either :p

I am thinking of staying at a hotel nearby which provides shuttle and avoid parking ! So for the trouble of flying from Houston and staying in hotel etc...is it worth all that trouble , will there be bargains to justify that ? LOL So whats the verdict.... Personally, there are good values there but the crowd, selections and lines

are not worth it to me. Find that I do better at sample sample around and about

town. Also, don't know why kind of inventory the high end designer stores

will have and what kind of size range , quantity and selection.

If you decide to make it , have fun

I live locally and shop regularly in the high end stores. I stay far far away on black Friday. I have seen the crowds leaving when i pass by on the thruway and they are absolutely the worst all year! I have been here for 12 years now. The only day i will brave the Commons on a big holiday weekend is the day before. A lot of the stores will actually start their sales then. I get first crack at the merchandise with the normal crowds. I suggest calling the stores you want to shop at to see when their sales start. If it's a holiday weekend sale, they usually start their markdowns the Thursday before. I don't know how they are handling Thanksgiving. Just a thought!

Hi, Ladies.. I have a question: When is the best time to go shop at Woodbury Commons. I know it is an outlet and prices are already lower than retail and such, but I was just wondering when would be a good time to go for extra discounts? I didn't go on Black Friday because of the horrifying stories about lines and traffic, so would after new year be a good time? Thanks in advance for any advise and help =)

The Chanel bags (if they have any) are not the ones you want, unless you have money to burn. I use the phrase "money to burn" because the discounts are not that great on a bag you prob don't want. If I ever saw a 2.55 in the Chanel outlet (at all), or in a color I wanted I think it would cause a riot. I used to live right by there, and any high end bags are ones you don't want.

Tip: Ask the stores you like when they get their shipments and go on a weekday!!!

I don't know about that. I've gotten some nice Gucci and Prada handbags that were being sold in the department stores for full price at the time. Last year i bought several Chanel bags from the outlet that were at an additional discount, and they are all beautiful. You will never see a 2.55 there. The only thing closest would be one in a weird tweed. Lately they have had nothing. Chanel is quite expensive, so even Chanel at a discount is still a lot. the Valentino outlet also has some gorgeous bags.

I disagree as well.. I've gotten some great bags at the outlet.. the 2.55 isn't the only nice-looking bag Chanel ever created

I think what she meant was that the bags at the outlet are prior season and only the prior season trend bags. I've never seen leather but lots of tweed bags.

Aw- this thread warms my heart. I grew up right near the Woodbury outlets and went there ALL the time. I moved down south a few years ago and miss shopping there dearly. As a kid, it was torture going there though because it was so big!

I went to Woodbury Monday (MLK Holiday). It wasn't that great BUT I did get some great deals.

I got a DVF Wrap dress (DIANA in New Wonder Woman Print) for 108. Neiman Marcus Last Call Rocks

This Balenciaga dress for $250. http://cgi.ebay.com/BALENCIAGA-PARI...temQQptZUS_CSA_WC_Dresses?hash=item5d27b4af67

Some AG shorts and skirts for $19 each.

Now the designer stores had NOTHING. Chanel was empty they did have bikini's and bathing suits for +200. Balenciaga was a joke. They had runway shoes we saw at DSW in the City (99) for 400+.
