Thanks for answering me ! I guess I will have to take a bus but find someone to go with me. I am a little nervous going out in NY alone on a bus. May have to stay overnight since I think the last flight out of JFK to Rdu is around 7 and I want to have time to shop ! Does anyone know of any hotels that are reasonable?

Decent mid-level NYC hotels are typically in the $200 - $300 a night range. It depends when you are coming to NY, how long you are staying and how early you book the reservation - the earlier you book the room before the arrival date the lower the price. If you have an idea of how much you want to pay and how long you're staying I'd be happy to make a recommendation. I am a NYC native and often have to find a place for relatives to stay.

When I go stay in NYC I usually priceline it - i.e. name my own price on their website. You get to choose which part of manhattan you want to stay in, star level, etc. You don't exactly know which hotel you will end up at but I've done this each time without disappointment.

I got a good deal using asiarooms.com, I paid £960 for 7 nights stay at the Affinia Fifty (fantastic hotel) which was £100 cheaper than Expedia or Lastminute

I was just there the weekend of Mar 1, and found a pair of Christian Louboutin suede pumps at Neiman Marcus for $340. I also found a Fendi scarf for $99. Last spring, I picked up a white patent small tote at CHANEL for $550 and an evening bag for $295. CHANEL had quite a few spring bags on 1 March, but the cost was only 20% off at that point.

There were a lot of really nice clothing items at Off 5th, but by the time we got there my DH was cranky and I had to leave.

The problem with Woodbury Commons is that you never know how it will be. Sometimes there is a lot, sometimes not. I live 1 hour and 15 mins away, I make the trek 3X year.
My Advice, go Sunday morning, just when it opens. No traffic, easy parking. As long as you leave by about 1PM, it is not too crowded. We stayed last time until 5PM (got there at 10AM, my DH was exhausted and complaining for the last 2 hours) and it became really crowded by about 2PM. Good luck!

^^^ I was there on 29th February and was surprised to see quite a few Louboutin in Off 5th and Neimans Last Call, never seen them before in all the years I've been going there. You did well in Chanel, there really wasn't much there when I went and I'd gone with the specific intention of getting a bag.

I lucked out in Barney's though and got the Lanvin Kentucky for $749 which is normally around $2,000

The Cole Hann store is mostly a SHOE STORE yes. There have a couple of bags dispersed throughtout the store on shelves but not a great selection.

I go about 2-4 times a year and i LOVE IT EVERYTIME! I live in NYC and when I can get in a carpool it's so worth it!

Dior - I bought a really nice Romantique Large Zip Trotter for a decent price. I didn't like it anymore once I bought my Damier Azur Speedy and i sold it on ebay; got back all my money including a litte profit back! They have a pretty good selection but as with all outlets, you have to get lucky and come in AT THE RIGHT TIME before someone snatches it up before u!

COACH - Mostly leather items and/or really OLD dated items. To get a really nice most-current bag u want, it's best to go at the BEGINNING OF THE MONTH when they send the old items from the Coach retail store to the outlets. This is your best bet to get signature bags, updated wristlets, key fobs, and updated leather items! (I know because i used to also be a Coach SA).

A/X - I always check this store out if you want to get nice silk tops for going out/partying/nice occassions. It's definitley cheaper than the retail store if you can go on wkends with an additional 20% or so. I got nice tops for $20 or $30!

GUCCI - Like all designer outlets, you have to be lucky and come in when they get a really great shipment. Be mindful they only get maybe 3 or 4 bags a shipment! My friends have gotten nice monogrammed shoulder bags for only $400.

I haven't been to Woodbury since I was literally like 6 and it was like every other lame outlet. Now IT'S AMAZING AND I AM GOING BACK FOR THE FIRST TIME TOMORROW.

Should I hit up anywhere special with deals this week? I'm excited!

Hey guys, so I just got back and I got some AWESOME DEALS.

I got a Burberry scarf for $25.

Prada sunglasses for $90

and DIOR SANDALS FOR $60!

I could have shopped SO much more. Jimmy Choo and Valentino were SO cheap when it came to shoes, I was almost taken aback.

I didn't find any reallll good deals on any bags but I would definitely go if you have the chance and scope out some stuff!

i haven't been to woodbury in months, but the last time I went, I also felt it was a hit or miss. I got a gorgeous leather key wallet from dolce and gabbana for only like $80 (i think originally $350). also found a nice leather juicy bag for $300 (not that big of a savings though, i think it only retailed for about $350), burberry trench coat for a couple hundred... i did see some great deals in Dior, but didn't get any since I'm not a big CD fan. OHHH and amazing Fendi sunglasses and shoes, fantastic prices (but again, this was a couple months ago...)

good luck when you go, and take your time, there are a lot of stores to hit. i get worn out there, and actually tired of shopping towards the end.

does anyone know how long the bus ride is from the port authority? just want to know if i should drive to woodbury with my girlfriend or wait til we go to nyc to take a bus.
