I only want to go to stores/outlets that will have good deals on Gucci/Chanel/Louis Vuitton. I know it will not be easy to find outlets for Louis Vuitton,

Just wanted to say it will be impossible to find an LV outlet as they do not exist. LV never goes on sale - anyone trying to sell you something cheaper than retail price will be trying to sell you a fake! (unless perhaps you find preloved LV in a consignment store, but you'd still need to worry about whether it was authentic or not)

The only downside to going to WCO is that it, most likely, will require you to be there all day. If you're not driving there, you can take a bus, but that will cost you a day in the city. Not sure what your specific plans are, but just something to keep in mind!

She's right...Woodbury is not really that close to NYC. If you only have 2 days, your trip will probably just be Woodbury with a few hours here and there in the City. I'm not sure where in NYC you can find smoking deals on those designers unless you are shopping consignment...at least I did not find deals easily when I was in NYC last.

If your primary reason for going to NYC is to shop and not sight see then I'd probably head over to Woodbury. Designer outlets all rounded up in one place should hopefully mean you'd be able to go home with one or two good purchases. Have fun and good luck if you decide to go!:smile1:

I think it's worth checking out (fun looking), but I've found better deals on handbags, at Saks, NM, and Nordstrom.
I agree. I get better deals at the actual boutiques during their semi annual sales and SAKS, etc during their 70% off sales. I've found that the outlets at Woodbury Commons are typically about 30% off retail which is definitely better than paying full price though. The Gucci Outlet had loads of nice bags as well as the Burberry Outlet. Those were my 2 most favorite stores there. The Chanel Outlet was just allright for me, and not much of a bargain but it depends what you're taste is and what you're looking for. I walked in and out of the Balenciaga Outlet. If you like Chloe, there are a lot of great Paddys there. You may do better going on a holiday weekend, even though it's certainly more crowded. Most of the stores offer an extra 20-30% on top of their usual discount but the pickings are slim. The Jimmy Choo outlet wasn't much to write home about. I scored some of my favorite bags a lot cheaper at Saks. Valentino, D&G, & YSL were fun to go into and had some pretty nice things and a good selection. The Prada outlet was just OK for me, but once again, everyone is different. Sorry this is probably more info than you were looking for but hope this helps. I love helping my fellow bag lovers find great deals!

I would say it is not worth the trip. I have been there twice and was disappointed both times and left empty handed. Now shopping in NYC definitely a different story! Sounds like a fun trip! Have fun and bring home some wonderful souvenirs for yourself:D

I think its worth it, I love going to Woodbury. Its so nice up there, but be sure to look at the layout of the stores before you go, its huge. And you don't pay tax on clothes and shoes under $110!

the Chanel outlet has VERY little in it and has only 5 bags! Mostly clothes and a little jewelry. The Burberry Outlet is good prices are decent but you will pay more tax! The Gucci Outlet is decent as well.

It's always hit or miss when you go there. There are usually some great deals around Labor Day, but I don't know if that coincides with your trip.

I was here about two weeks ago, and the best bargains I got were from Neimans, Saks, and the Kensie outlet. You just have to go with an open mind, because you never know when the stores get new goods.

I was at Woodbury and paid tax on a shirt I bought at Anne Fontaine. It was $79.50, and was the only item I bought. Is the no tax on clothes and shoes below $110 only good for certain stores?

I think it's only in New York City.

I know for a fact that I always pay tax on items at Woodbury, even if it's under $110.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info. It is much appreciated. I have some more questions. What about Century 21? Also, what time does the boutiques/dept stores close in NY? I will be staying @ the Waldorf Astoria and was wondering if that will be walking distance to some of the boutiques/dept stores? Thanks again for all your advice/help!!
