I wonder if anyone see her Birkin picture? I believe that is SO, EITHER Alligator or Crocodile. So, 30.000 is not a crazy amount. It is my two cents....
Do we have pictures of her actual bag? I’ve seen three different articles and they each include a random stock image of a (different) birkin but I don’t believe any are the one that was actually damaged.

Last night from my husband's phone, we saw a SO Birkin, but I Do not know that it is a random picture? I thought the news would not put a random picture for the public to misunderstand.
If so my apology:smartass:

I’ve seen one with a SO red and purple exotic, one with a pink ostrich B, and another with a yellow Kelly Cut. I think the writers are just grabbing any Hermes bag stock photo for illustration. :)

I don’t understand how the waiter poured the wine over her husband. It’s understandable that she and her Birkin may seat next together when the waiter filled her glass and poured. I supposed that the husband should sit opposite to her at the dinner table.

This woman is cray, unless it was deliberate, which it wasn’t, the woman
has her own self to blame for bringing the bag to the restaurant. If she’s rich enough to buy it, she can afford the repairs. This is what happens to show offs.

Show off? She came into a business and her item was damaged by the staff, accident or not she should be compensated. That’s like saying if someone hits you in the parking lot, they shouldn’t have to pay for the repair because driving a car is showing off when you could simply take public transit.

This is a very exclusive country club and it would not be unusual for most patrons to carry bags like this. I don’t think it was showing off at all. She likely fit right in with her surroundings.

I agree. It was unlikely showing off. This is a very exclusive country club in a very affluent area where most patrons would be carrying bags like this.

This randomly popped up in my feed the title says it all. I think that it's hilarious that this woman is doing it. I know that Hermes bags can cost thousands to hundreds of thousands but I feel like she's cray cray to do this. People are human and make mistakes, it's not like the waiter intentionally did this. They mentioned that the insurance company dismissed it my question is it the country clubs insurance or her own insurance? I feel like if you're spending that much money on handbags you'd insure them, no different than insuring jewelry. If it's the clubs insurance that dismissed it it's probably not covered under thier policy. The amount of time, money, and energy spent suing them is a such a waste. It just comes off as extremely petty. I also feel like it would basically ruin the relationship you have both with the club and other members. Surely both sides will be taking about it, making it a awkward environment to go too.

It appeared on my news feed as well. Highly suggest that anyone reading it consider obtaining a separate policy for their handbag collection be it 1 or 100. I sound like a broken record stressing the importance of a separate policy for handbags but for me it makes sense. The individual circumstances and the coverages will vary why not at least look into it if in the unfortunate future you are faced with the same dilemma of a clumsy waiter or a malicious act. The insurance is cheap.

I don’t think you can classify her as “showing off” just because she’s carrying a luxury item. If this is your viewpoint then you are definitely on the wrong website. But, even if she was carrying it to “show off “, that doesn’t mean she deserves to have the item ruined because of it. If you’re on this website then you must enjoy the idea of “showing off” to an extent or else you wouldn’t be on a website dedicated to luxury fashion. Putting on makeup before leaving the house is “showing off” but you don’t deserve to have someone throw a glass of water in your face because they think you’re “showing off”. The idea of “showing off” is innate , not just to humans, but all of nature. Every species has their way off “showing off” and I’m sure you are no exception, whether it be what you own, what your profession is, what hobbies you have or your morals you put out on the web. Any accomplishment is “showing off”. In reality, this woman must be doing something right since she belongs to an exclusive country club carrying a Birkin, her plumage, so to speak, and if she was “showing off”, well, it’s in her nature. You just don’t like it because her plumage is different than yours. Luckily, we’re human and can look past someone’s plumage and still enjoy shaking tail feathers from all of sorts plumages.
**yes, I know it’s the male peacock with all the feathers.
