Hey, good to hear your updates! And congrats to finding those on your wish list! Keep up the good work in making them new again!

I will do, i think i find that more exciting than buying a brand new bag :)
Im hoping to do a handbag collection tread and some revels in mulberry and bal when they here. Along with a thread in the wardrobe section about buildind my bag cupboard :)

I know for a fact I will never be content. There will always be a colour, designer, style etc that's missing from my collection. Yet even though I know I'll always want more, I still manage convince myself before each purchase that it'll be the last bag I'll want for a long time. I really wish I could find some way to stop myself from even looking at bags and learn to be satisfied with what I have.

Its good to hear from you :) i now dont think that i will ever be 100% content with my collection in the regards that ill stop buying forever, but i feel that when my new purchases arrive i wont want to buy anything for awhile, so im that sense i will be content :smile1: i have recently discovered a few new designers that i would like to try out such as annabel ingall, and i would LOVE a meli melo thela bag!!! But im in no rush :smile1: i find that the more i look at bags and new designers the more i want new bags! Im having a handbag closet (more a cupboard) built and i feel that when i can see my bags ill be reminded of what i have and use different ones more :smile1: have you thought of having pictures of your bags to remind you of your collection?

I know when my love for "buying a new bag from that brand" die down. I stop getting a new Balenciaga after I feel like every new released is a repeat or just similar to what I have. When I feel like it's no longer excite me, I move on. Now, I'm into Chanel, but also feel like it's about to come to an end. The price is getting crazy. Nothing catches my eyes or make me feel like it worth the price. I have my eyes on only one bag from their brand now and am saving up. And I want it just because the color is gorgeous. I'm also waiting for my medium Pashli to arrive. Then, I don't feel like I want any more bag, which will be super good for my wallet. :) I still love every bag I have, but I just have no love or the new one. :)

You're right! Often I get bored of a brand. Then I take a look at other brands to see what they have. Not saying I'll never come back to a brand, but I start getting burned out at a certain point and need a break from them.

Thats interesting, so do you find that you will be very into a brand and buy just that brand (with a few exceptiond :) ) for a while then move on? and has this helped you have a collection of bags that you 100% love rather than impulse buying?
i feel that i do this, ive just discovered balenciaga! i am not a colourful bag person so i fel that once i have the styles i want ill be able to stop. My ongoing LOVE is mulberry but again theres only a few diffrent styles i want but i find there colour range is better suited to my wardrobe so i may never be done :) i go back and forth with LV i only like a few of there styles and am in no rush to get anything else LV for now. I am considering an alexander wang tote but this is a brand i have no knowledge of at all so i really need to do some research before thinking of buying!

I agree. :smile1:

I find myself tend to be into only one brand with a few exceptions from time to time. After I feel like I'm filled with that brand, I move on. I have some impulse buying, but I'd say normally those impulse buy tend to fail me in the long run. They just don't really last on my love list. When I purge my closet, those impulse buys are the first to get thrown out. When I find the bag I like, I get obsess and study about it in every details. I scrutinize over how it will go with my life style and how much use I can get out of it. So, I'd say I love every piece I have. :) (Less or more, yes. :p) I get bored with Bal after no new color excite me. This doesn't mean I don't love my Bals anymore. I still love them and the RH City in 09 Granny is my absolute favorite. ;) I just don't feel like buying more from them. No new color that I like. Everything I feel like a duplicate or just similar to what I have. It just doesn't feel "new" anymore.
So, to answer your question, I absolutely love all the bags I have. :) And I decide that I will no longer do impulse buy even though it may cost me some more, but it's always better to think it through. :smile1:

I do best with more expensive versions of cheapie bags whose function I loved. I loved the look of the boston bag and the open mawed tote after buying cheapie inspired ones in Thailand, but wanted better versions of them. I did over time, and even added another type of open mawed bag that really works for its intended purpose. I love that they stand upright on the floor. Then I found a small athletic bag with long shoulder straps for about 2 dollars that was absolutely perfect. Weighed nothing. But looked uuuuglllyyy. So I bought Longchamp Le Pliage. The sports tote had an extra zippered pocket that I would have wanted the Le Pliage to have, but with a wristlet inside it, I can deal. And it's so much better looking.

I guess my point is that at least for me, function is king. If looks hadn't been important, I wouldn't have bought the Le Pliage. But it's the function that won me over. While for me it's happened naturally, and research about the cheapie (first two were inspired) bags was what landed me on the purseforum, I think buying super cheap bags for trying out a new form factor might save some from expensive mistakes.

I think this is an excellent idea. I made a very expensive mistake with LV epi alma. So I did that before my most recent purchases and bought a couple of inspired items from baginc before I decided whether or not to invest. Function for me is king and regardless of how prestigious a bag is, if I can't use it easily it doesn't work.
So I realised a birkin will NEVER be for me as I can't walk around with a bag that I have to leave open whereas my mulberry Bayswaters are perfect. I also know I will love a chanel jumbo and bought a mulberry medium lily in the interim which is also great.
No more expensive mistakes for me!

I really love this thread. It made me feel better as I could relate to many of you. After we get the "one", I always think I'm done! But...eventually we find another one to obsess over about! I feel very bad when I impulse buy because I like to think about what I deserve. This might be silly but I started to print out the bags that I really want atm and then put them in a binder. Then I put a star on the ones that I like the most and eventually out some :) It's helped me realize which bags I really want in my collection as a forever piece as compared to the ones I am just "trending" over. Hope everyone enjoys their bags in good health!

This is how i feel so very close yet easily swayed into wishing for more bags :) but nothing too out there i understand my bag style now :) have you done a bag showcase with your hermes?

My Kelly has arrived! I picked it up today. So so happy with it! :yahoo: i am over the moon!

I am one big step closer to being content! From now on, I really want to concentrate on my HG.

I really want to be content with my collection very soon. I have recently looked at my bags and evaluated to see what I can sell and what I may need to fill any gaps. At this point I just want to pick up a pink bag and a red bag. I am trying to be happy with what I already have in my life, bags included. It's not easy though. Our society is not wired that way anymore.
