I like this idea! I actually do something similar. When I find myself jonesing for a new bag, I find as many images of the bag as I can, and bookmark the ones I like best so I can revisit them. After a few days of this, I often stop looking at the photos or get bored, and that answers the question. If I can over-saturate myself with images of a bag, and not get sick of it, then I'll consider buying!

Thats a good idea! im going to try this!! :)

Our being discontented is a human thing in my opinion. I have loved clothes and bags since i was a kid. But in my early 20s my taste has been increasingly pricey. Last year i bought about 10 bags or more, sorry i lost count. :D i still have a lot of bags in my wishlist and i disciplined myself to buy a maximum of 3 bags in a year. Already bought 2 (cant help it). I use my bags alternately every week, im afraid if i use them more than that it might easily get worn out. :) i saw a lot of preloved bags that were very worn out and realized that its not worth the money coz it will really depreciate but i still love bags. And im also starting to buy jewelry coz i know it wont depreciate. Sorry for the mixed emotions/ signals im still confused if ill push through with my bag addiction haha lol!

10 :O thats alot but i didnt realise i had brought so many untill i wrote it down and i realised that given the chance i could easily buy more, while i dont limit myself to a certain number of bags i only buy bags i know i love now ratgher than what takes my fancy. i dont mind buying preloved bags even if they are badly worn because i get them restored :) i like jewellery but i dont buy very often, my addiction for bags is too strong :)

I don't want a huge collection of bags, and I generally live by the phrase "travel light through life" - I want few but perfect bags (same with clothes, although it's a bit harder!).

That said my collection is still growing, as I am a younger student and don't have all the money in the world. My HG is not in my collection yet, but I plan on getting it when I'm done with my master.

So I'm confident that I'll be content with my collection at some point and only add a bag once in a while (like normal, non-bag-crazy people do :D )

i didnt think i wanted a large collection but it looks like its going that way. i would love small perfect collection and i have become more precise with my purchases. so i think i will be happy with what bags i have eventually.....maybe....who am i kidding :roflmfao: i have just finished my degree too, What is your HG? haha i think the fact that we are on here means we will never be normal-non-bag-crazy people :) :D

Aww sorry to hear! I know what it's like to always be on the hunt for something HAHA!
I guess I just sorted out my needs in a bag and went from there. :D

Ahh after i lost out on an amazing Bal i emailed the buyer saying that if she wasnt happy with the bag i would buy from her and shes just emailed to say i can buy!! :D so happy!!!!

Haha :) i dont think anything can be done :) a bag obsession is a truly lost cause :roflmfao:
Your collection sounds lovely!! (Congrats on the chanel!!) oh you must have a great BF getting you a rocco! :) i go on a mad bag buying spree then start planning my next purchase. im trying to make better choices though and not impulse buy and ive recently started to SELL!!!! some bags...something i thought i would never do!

I try not to buy more than 1 or 2 a year. After that, I feel like I am just wasting money.

You must have amazing self control!! i try hard to ration my self and am trying to make better choices when it comes to bags. im trying to expand my Mulberry collection as M is my all time fave brand and ive also gotten into Bals of late :) so alittle off my buying schedule but nothing too crazy

I wish I could say I'm content, that I want nothing else, but it'd be a lie. There's always something new I see that is like a little devil in my head whispering me to buy it! :nogood:

Luckily there are two things that hold me back a)money and b)space. I wish I could say it was common sense! :p

I find 'the wants' disappear a lot faster than they used to...a few years ago if I saw a bag I liked, I'd obsess until I found a way to buy it - and then would move immediately on to the next 'can't live without' bag. Exhausting, and not really a great way to live. Here's what happened to me - I was made redundant and was out of work for a year. When you are worried about keeping your home, bags and other material possessions lose all their importance. I sold all but two bags, and when I found another job somehow the desire to go out and buy a new bag to celebrate, it just wasn't there anymore. In the last three and a half years I have bought five bags, all pre-loved, all classics, all bags I thought about carefully before buying. I just don't have the same interest in plonking down £1000s anymore - not saying I'm not tempted sometimes, but I find it's always a temporary temptation. The fact I no longer use credit cards for anything is, I'm sure, a big help!

Haha i had a list in mind when i started this thread but its esculated and changed since! ive made 2 purchases (One i really hunted down and one impulse) there may be few more before the end of this month. i dont have lots of money so i am trying hard not to spend too much, im quite good at setting a price and sticking to it. im in the process of making a handbag home :) but i think it will be full already so i dont know where these newbies will go??:graucho:

Thats so interesting im out of work too so i do plan my purchases more carefully and i do think that it has stopped me buying bags "just becuase i could" and i dont plan on making any more purchases untill my situation changes. I buy 90% of my bags preloved and restore them i find it more rewarding :) there have been lots of time i could have just brought this bag or that bag but as you say it is tempory temptation! and i feel i know my handbag style now, so as much as i may like a bag if it doesnt fit in with me and my life it stays in the shop :)

So as you know when i started this thread i had some very specific handbags in mind that in my opinion would make me content with collection :) and while i have flipped back and forth as to weather it will be possible to be so ect ect :)
The very specific bags were.
A balenciaga (brief/day)
A mulberry daria hobo
A mulberry lily
And some brightly coloured rebecca minkoff macs.

While ive by no means aquired all these bags i think when my "new family members" join the group ill stop looking for awhile.

I happened upon a bal day in good condition with giant gold hardware no less!!! BONUS. As i like the g21 HW
A then got a second change on THE brief...see post above for why this is THE bag lol. This is in bad shape and will need to be restored and dyed :)
So thats two bags ticked off my wih list :)

Now i had zero luck with the the daria or lilys but i did find a carter. The carter was a style i loved when it came out and happened upon at an amazing price! I also found a beautiful mushroom bays which will be with me soon. The bays was my only impulse purchase!
While stalking the mulberry forum i found the bryn in flame which was love at first sight! Im still looking but there may be a possible one in the pipeline :) and even if the bryn doesnt work out i think ill be more than happy with my collection. Now im not sayng ill be content forever ... Im good for now :)

Sorry for the rambling!!!
