Hi Ladies--I emailed Jackie and she responded that the issue was actually a paperwork error, that has been corrected, and they are still open for business. With her permission, this is what she sent:

"My accountant thought I had filed some important admin online and I thought he had. I believe it was the registrar who has to automatically seek dissolution in that case but as soon as everything was sorted out, it reverted to normal. I got quite a shock when I noticed that and that's how we realised our error. We have absolutely not closed down!"

Just thought I'd let you all know.

I've been away from tPF for awhile now...I miss everyone...perhaps some of you might remember my very special BE surprise while I was deployed to Iraq 5 years ago. A special tPF member and Jackie collaborated to let me make my very own bag, as a gift. It brings tears to my eyes to even think about it still. While I have sold some of my Rebecca Minkoffs and Bals that I never used, I will NEVER sell the one and only BE that I have - it will always make me think of special memories from that time. I never would have thought a pewter crash LMM would be something I would go for, but it is so wonderful and I am glad that I chose it. It gets better with age and has withstood a lot of abuse (I used it as a computer bag for awhile and use it as my travel tote anytime I go somewhere).

Memories of special people and a company owned by someone like Jackie are why we love BE, and no matter what happens, I think we will always love what BE stands for =) I know that it is true for me!

I always loved that story Candace...and the picture of you in your army fatigues with the pewter crash!

BE bags certainly are special...that one especially!

This still makes me wonder. Things like that are not just accidently filed...it had to have been under discussion. There have not been new styles for quite some time and the site lacks the beautiful pinks, purples etc that I always loved in favor of neutral totes. I am so glad I got the Bespoke bags when I did. And regretting not buying some others when I had the chance

There hasn't been any new inventory in a full year now and there haven't been any new announcements so maybe BE is just in a holding pattern while they decide what to do next. Who knows? I've given up checking out the site, though, because I figure there will be an email or some sort of announcement if there are new bags coming. I'll just enjoy the ones I have for now.

I must admit all the questioning about which models and leathers one liked, initially gave me some hope, that some came-back was to be expected of these 'oldies'..but now I think it might have been a way to just have a conversation of some kind...

I find all this way of handling the business as very odd.., so I am very happy to have bags I like, and which will last me the next couple of a hundred yrs!

I agree, Bonnie, I think we just enjoy the BE bags we have. At this point, I don't expect anything else and am not going to wait any longer for new styles. I think we picked up some lovely things that we will enjoy but I will be turning to other brands in the future because I just don't see anything else coming out. If they decide to introduce some new styles, I will certainly take a look but for now, I'm not waiting for them to bring out anything else.

I've been out of touch for a while now -- just had other things going on and purses were taking a back seat....Hope you all are still living the BE dream....I carry one of mine every day and LOVE it!!!:heart:

Hi all, long time no post. Hope that 2013 was good to you and 2014 is even better. I dug out my mottled gold TME for Christmas, I adore that bag, and brown pebbled leather TME for work and enjoyed carrying them again. Still carry my blue crash Charm Me bespoke. I'm not sure what went wrong with BE. the prices seemed to rocket and I couldn't afford them any more. Like others I've been looking at the website but nothing changes. I also use my Protect Me and Kiss Me regularly. It is a shame how things have turned out, we used to have such fun on here.

Tote Girl! Long time no see. May 2014 be a great year for you too.

I'm not sure what went wrong either but the prices shot up around the same time as they started to follow distinct "trends". I don't think it worked for them as there are so many other established brands in that space.

I'm carrying my Chocolate Crash WTM Midi and should receive a Pumpkin matte Charm Me from a lovely seller soon. I still remember your photos of your blue crash bag. I still have my Treasure Me in this leather.

I hope BE can have a rejuvenation like Hayden Harnett did. They looked like they were really on the ropes at one point but seem to have new owners who get what the brand was about.
