LOL NYCavalier congratulations for sticking to topic "Why Oh Why did I open this Email"~Too funny!!

Thank you for the nice compliment!! Stay strong you don't need THREE dark Moto's? Has ANYBODY purchased or seen pics of the white and black one. To me that's the heart attack color of the moment :graucho:

Don't do it NYC!! Ihave a 40 in the F/W jacket (fits perfectly) and the sz 40 Canard, which is a bit loose on me. The Canard 40 still looks good, and it's great for layering, but I know that the 42 would be waaaaaaay too big for me. You'd have her away at the tailor for weeks!! :smile1:

Thank you so much susieserb & ehemelay!!!!! I now am not tempted to buy it. Altough I am in lovve with Canard, you both are right.. I do not need a 3rd dark colored moto jacket + 42 would be too big.

phew! What would I do without you girls?! :tender:

Wouldn't it be fantastic if we saw another pale gray jacket like the '08 this upcoming fall? I think that would be the perfect compliment to your collection!!

Side note - it got chilly here yesterday evening and I managed to wear my Khaki out for a few hours.!! The location was pretty much a dive bar, but I don't worry about my Khaki anymore. It looks better and better the more I wear it - it has more character. I'm not sure, I guess I'll find out, but I feel like the smooth Canard leather won't look as good with scratches and general wear and tear. We shall see.

Haha, you are so funny! No, definitly do NOT buy this one! I tried on 38, 40 and 42 in the store when I bought my Canard. 38 was OK, but I want to layer since it's so cold here in Norway. So I tried both 40 and 42, 40 was perfect 42 waaaaay to big, it looked weird on. Don't buy a jacket in the wrong size just because of the price, something else and much better will come up I'm sure:smile1::smile1::smile1:

Hi again,

I am getting a little paranoid here and I hope you ladies can help me out :confused1:

As you know I received my black with brass hw jacket from DF Wednesday and I love it.
My first thought was it looked smaller than the Canard I had and returned, but I just figured it was the black color that made it look that way.

I havent really had a chance to try it on again since, because I have been so busy but today I took it out of the dustbag and measured it and it really is smaller! Also smaller than the 2009 navy in size 38 lovelygarments was so sweet to measure in the style-reference post.

Can any of you ladies who own a 2010 jacket in size 38 do me a favour and measure it for me?

Here are measurements for mine:

underarm to underarm across the front - 42 cm - 16-1/2"
underarm to underarm across the back - 43 cm - 17"
mid-waist - 36 cm - 14"
hem - 39 cm - 15-1/4"
shoulder to shoulder - 37 cm - 14-1/2"
sleeve length - 64 cm - 25"
length measured from buttom of back collar - 50 cm - 19-1/2"

And lovelygarments size 38 navy:

This jacket is a French size 38 - measurements:

underarm to underarm across the front - 17-3/4"
underarm to underarm across the back - 17-1/2"
mid-waist - 15"
hem - 16-1/8"
shoulder to shoulder - 15"
sleeve length - 26-3/8"
length measured from bottom of back collar - 20-1/4

The jacket cant be closed and I am worried if its a size 38 or marked wrong.

Just want to be sure before I contact DF. Not that it matters that I cant zip it, but I just wonder why there is such a big difference.

Thanks for being so helpful all of you :smile1:

How does your 38 compare in measurements to those provided by Balenciaga in their size guide for a size 38? The shoulder measurement of 14.5 inches, for example, does not sound small for a size 38 to me. Anyway, I think that would be more controlling than K's non-official measurements of one jacket (not that I don't love her way more than BAL Corp). I wouldn't be surprised if there was some individual variation among jackets that are the same size, but it shouldn't be so far off that a person buying in reliance on BAL's measurements wouldn't be getting what they expected and knew would fit. If it is way off, maybe it is mismarked.

Its smaller compared to the Bal measurements....
Thanks for answering.

No one has a black with brass zippers in size 38? :wondering

I wish I can help, but I have the '10 black/brass in 40. I notice when measuring the jackets, there are margins of error. It can vary depending if you measure from the front or the back and how taunt you stretch the jacket out to measure. Hope someone will chime in to help you.
