Why Do People Buy Fake Designer Bags Or Fake Designer Anything?

hey ! I have a BMW and a Hyundai , while I have had numerous problems with my BMW I have had zero problems with my hyundai except I had to replace my front place for the first time in 5 years ! It has never left me stranded anywhere, where my BMW (both bought brand new) battery has died, window has been jammed opened and other problemes. Also my uncle who only buys Mercedes is selling his to buy that new high end hyundai Genesis and there is a huge waiting list for it. Hyundai has come a long way, I am proud to drive my Hyundai

Your BMW must came from the same production line as mine heheh. I bought mine brand new and after 6 mth, the battery died, central lock is not working and engine has this rattle sounds...such a bad quality for the amount of money I paid.
I have sold it since and happily drive Honda Civic that gives me 0 problems and better still excellent gas mileage.

Lots of people buy real OR fake bags because of the brand - just to show it off! So the people who carry/buy fakes are just mocking the actual brand - the way I see it anyway. These people don't care if it's the real thing or not as long as the logo is on it - LOUD AND CLEAR! They won't buy other bags even if it's better quality...! So, in a sense they think it's ok to carry a fake because of the logo.

I wonder what Parisiennes would think about all of these American women wearing old navy jeans and sweatpants while carrying $2,000 LV bags on their sleeves?

Jacobs is laughing his way to the bank over these image-obsessed women who know nothing of style, but know everything about celebrity and image.

The oversaturation of these "images" and brands and designers (resulting in more fakes) is because of people thinking it's fashionably sane to carry a hugely expensive bag to go to mcdonalds for lunch while wearing their university letters on their hoodie.

I'm not a fashionista, nor am I judgmental over what people are wearing (within reason). And I'm all for wearing "expensive" clothes if it makes you feel good and feel as though you look good. But to me, this is basic common sense: Wear whatever the hell you want to the grocery store, but please, leave the $3000 purse, fake or real, at home. You look like a fool.

who the heck cares what 'parisiennes' think about the way I/we dress?
I doubt they care if I like their apparel choice or not.
The last I checked we don't have to get our clothing choices approved by anyone, lest those across the globe.

Call people here fools again and we'll remove you :D
Welcome!
Oh and I'll happily carry my $3k Chanel bag w/ my gym clothes to the grocery store anytime I wish thank you very much. . .
I love America! LOL!

No $3000 bags in my warddrobe, but two around 4-500 I got on sale...and they are the ONLY good looking thing about my outfits when I hit the grocery store. I BETTER grab a nice bag :roflmfao:

To the gals with BMWs: my dad used to have one and when it came time to trade it in after a couple of years, I told him I wanted to buy it off him. He told me that he would do me the biggest favor in the world and NOT sell it to me. He told me that the twice yearly services alone would break me.

Pretty contradictory.

Who is going to view me as a fool? Certainly not myself - and that's the only person whose opinion I am personally concerned with.

well i only make 40 grand a year and i buy cheap clothing and nice bags . im not rich and i only buy 1 bag a year that i save for this year will be my first year buying a bag over 400 im going for a real lv so i will be one of those people in walmart clothing nike and a real lv speedy or alma

IDK, but if someone is wearing cheap clothes it seems like pretty good evidence that their handbag is a fake--I mean, if a woman won't even spend $100 for a new pair of jeans, it seems unlikely that she would pay $3000 for a handbag. Definitely it's not conclusive; I've left the house with a nice bag and American Eagle sweats plenty of times, and I know moms in particular might be waiting to get their post-pregnancy figure back. Still, Reeboks and a real Chanel?! I don't think so!

I agree that teenagers carry fakes the most, but that's somewhat forgivable because they don't know any better. But parents telling their kids stealing is okay by carrying fakes is the WORST!

I wanted to put my 2cents in as well. I live out in the country in Texas, where most people wouldn't know a real bag from a fake. I work with a bunch of teachers who think it's the coolest thing to go to Orchard Street in NYC, go down a dark alley and buy fakes. My friend had a fake Coach, so I ended up giving her a practically new one that I had only used a few times. But most people think it's just fun, and don't realize they are stealing intellectual property and encouraging crime. I don't care if no one has ever heard of the brands I carry. I will only use real bags and I will have the satisfaction of knowing they are real. But it does piss me off!:wtf:

^^I love CL's but not those! LOL! I'm happy being ME in my jeans, Pumas/Nikes and tees sporting whatever pricey bag and my bling I want w/o a thought of some obscure person somewhere else in the world and whether they approve or not! LOL!
I'm sorry, that comment is just so. . . . nvm!

I will add that people in LA, NYC or different parts of Italy didn't seem to mind :D

I love nothing more than to see a celebrity - or a 'real' person- wearing uber-casual clothes and carrying an expensive bag. There is something so poetic about it!

Then I'm a poet!

Actually, I do write poetry...maybe that's why I dress not to be naked
but carry a designer bag. Poetry in motion...
