Lol. All I can say is subscribe to this thread and once I get my refund I will post a new thread with the whole story and link this thread to it. Check out my other username Fingerscrossed and you'll see the post requesting authentication

You don't need to start a new thread, this one is fine, I don't think we need to have 2 threads about the same issue. You could ask a mod to change the title if need be. Please ask an H mod to help you.

You've been a member as ob_solete a long time, more than 10 years, one of the pioneers of tPF, and then as figerscrossed about half that time. tPF members are identified by their name and if you are using separate accounts for authentication and another for other postings you can perhaps see why people have got a bit confused.

Very glad you're calm and positive and sorting it out, I think most members will be very glad you have brought this to their attention. Whatever the amount of money involved, it is shocking and upsetting to be the victim of fraud. Even highly respected and very trustworthy resellers can be duped themselves, but if they are offering assurances, even certification then they are wittingly part of a criminal chain and should do everything they possibly can to put it right.

Personally, I think penalties for passing on counterfeit goods should made stiffer globally. Can you imagine just how many people there are who have been duped and will presumably, at some point, if the bag never goes to spa or repair, go on to resell their bags again?

I completely agree and I actually think it's a good thing that Hermes confiscates the fake stuff to stop it from being spread around.

That's French law, and that's why H makes customers aware and agree to sign paperwork which recognises that if the item is deemed fake they are obliged to confiscate and will be destroyed. It is a crime to buy as well as sell counterfeit goods in France. The French police can confiscate fake goods even 'for personal use' being carried on the street.

For everyone doubting my story check out this link. I didn't realise I had two usernames and my other username is Fingerscrossed and you can see I requested authentication on here but I wasn't a regular poster and you can also see the reebonz link to the bag I bought. I wouldn't be surprised if there are reebonz reps on here reading all this

Don't take the doubts personally. This is a public forum and anyone can post here, including competitors from resellers that want to smear another reseller. So think of those questions as a checking mechanism to protect the forum members from falling victim to such false claim. It's upsetting especially when you're going through such unpleasant process, but it's not towards you.

I'm really sorry this happened to you and appreciate that you brought this to our attention. I would force myself to stay calm had this happened to me as well. How else can you sort things out if you don't. Panicking doesn't help. Hoping that you get your refund very soon and get your dream bags some day. :hugs:

According to that link, the actual seller of the bag was Brandoff. I thought they were a legitimate reseller of the highest regard?

Unfortunately not the case.

I have seen many items across different Designer Label brands deemed Fake from Sellers from Japan. So it always pays to Authenticate ALL items no matter what the brand prior to purchasing.

The whole story sounds off to me without any proof. Also after so long time passed I doubt any proof will be reliable. There are many fake Birkin bags in color Gold and anyone can bring fake bag in the same color to Hermes store. In the link which you gave it there are no enough pictures the bag to be authenticated properly from any authenticator but indications are for authentic bag and nothing points to replica item.

This isn't exactly true. A note to bababebi would have avoided this sad tale.
OP, I'm sorry this happened to you, but fortunately it sounds as though you will get your money back. The listing shows the date and craft stamps, so just ensure H gives you photos of the bag they are deeming fake so they correlate.

It will be very interesting to see such letter from Hermes with pictures said the bag is replica. Until now there is no proof.
The blind stamp is not a problem. You can purchase custom replica bag with what blind stamp you want. Personally I saw several times two identical bags with the the same color, the same leather, the same size and hardware and the same blind stamps and one is fake the other one is authentic.

I think our fromager en residense (see what I did there[emoji16]) means the photos should match what is in the listing, and that will provide sufficient proof it was the same purchased item that Hermes has deemed a fake.

The bag is not authentic. I think we should avoid discussing the details of counterfeits or the buying or making of such things.

Thank you :flowers: That is exactly what I meant. And I see what you did there ;)

Maybe you saw more detailed pictures and you have more detailed information ? Because I will say again in the listing there is no evidence for fake bag.
For the blind stamp my thought was in another direction. Let's say for now i will not give guide typs to scammers how to scam sellers and go around blind stamps. All authentication claims should be made before security tag is removed.
