i believe OP's story..

why would she "make up" a story? she has nothing to gain from strangers opinions/comments on TPF.
Thank you. I do find it fascinating why people think I'm lying and would seriously waste time making up a story. It doesn't quite make sense and it's not like I suddenly wanted validation. You can look at my history of posts. I'm not a regular poster and check out my other username Fingerscrossed which shows the bag I'm talking about. I am male btw :)

The bag is not being held hostage. The TOS on the back of the repair form clearly state that you agree that if they determine your product is not authentic, they have no obligation to return it to you, as shipment may be considered an illegal import/export, etc. And that it may be turned over to local authorities as part of an investigation. (Paragraph 3.5)

The OP will need to use her copy of the repair form that describes the bag, along with the eventual letter from H to dispute with Reebonz.

This is 100% correct. I have emailed Reebonz a copy of the repair contract I signed and I am waiting for the Hermes Letter confirming it's fake and will send this off too. I really do feel I have so much evidence that it would be ridiculous if Reebonz doesn't refund me. Additionally, I paid via PayPal so I feel even more protected

I think OP's purpose in opening thus thread has gone off track.
It was to raise awareness of one particular seller that she later discovered sold her a fake bag; to remind purchasers to be careful even when buying from what they believe to be reputable source; to alert people of the consequences of handing over fake bags to Hermes.

I have re-read the thread carefully and do take it at face value.
Often these kinds of posts seem suspect to me. Over time posters show themselves to have been 'economical with the truth'.
OP does not appear to be familiar with this forum or Bababebi. She tried to use Hermes customer service to reassure herself about the authenticity of her bag and fell foul of it. Let's face it, paying for a reputable authentication is less than paying for Hermes spa. Not everyone is as experienced dealing with the preloved world as avid followers of this forum become.

I print off photos and listings of online purchase that I think I might need, should an issue arise. But I've always suspected that very few other people do that. Listings do not all remain online after goods have been sold.
Being calm is the only way to cope with something as serious as potentially loosing thousands, once you have got over the initial shock.

Hi
Thank you for your support and voice of reason. Once I receive the refund I plan on making a separate post of my story along with copies of the letter, repair contract, etc and will also link that story to this thread so that doubters can hopefully learn that there are honest people on here. My only disagreement with what you wrote is that I would have always taken the bag to Hermes as to me, that is the only 100% guarantee that can determine if the bag is real or not despite the existence of other authenticators out there. I do not mean any disrespect to those people but putting 100% trust in them is not really any different to trusting the second hand reseller I purchased from. Unfortunately, from my current experience I don't think I will be buying second hand again because the drama isn't worth it.

Hi
I actually did tried to post the bag on here for authentication. I didn't realise it was under my other username Fingerscrossed which you can check. I am male btw :)

Sorry this happened to you and all the problems and anxiety you are going through. As another poster stated, you can do a charge back on your credit card and let the credit card fraud department do the investigation.

At one time I had a stalker (probably still do), who would check everything I did. I opened another account and found I could not merge them. I totally understand where you are coming from.

How are you able to get a refund if you do not have the bag to return? In other words, how does Reebonz know the bag you bought from them is the bag you sent to Hermes?
This is a really good point but I have my repair contract which states which bag I put in for repair and I am awaiting the letter from Hermes which I believe will give more details about the bag being fake.

I read this this morning, BC (before caffeine) and again PC, and something seems...wrong. Like there’s some details missing, or omitted. My spidey sense is telling me that there’s more to the story than we have been told. I, with no intention of shade or disrespect to the OP, simply find it difficult to believe that they have no photographic evidence of the bag or a link to the sale. Maybe I’m neurotic, or paranoid, but I screenshot that stuff and put it in a file. Something doesn’t feel right about this one...

Like my other replies I do find it both fascinating and sad that people would really think some random person would make a fake post. I realised that I have two usernames so if you check Fingerscrossed you will see my post trying to get the reebonz item authenticated

I also think something is off with the story.

When someone asked for photos, OP said she doesn’t have any (weird and hard to believe)

When someone asked for the listing in Reebonz, she said it doesn’t exist anymore

When someone asked to share the Hermes response, she said she got an email but will only post the actual letter she has yet to get from Hermes

Hmmm...

Lol. All I can say is subscribe to this thread and once I get my refund I will post a new thread with the whole story and link this thread to it. Check out my other username Fingerscrossed and you'll see the post requesting authentication

I have a similar experience. I bought a Chanel Tshirt and a Perfume minaudiere from Reebonz thinking it's a really good deal. But end up both were fakes. It was clearly stated that it was authenticated by Reebonz and the product is authentic. Despite all the claims on the website, no answer were given to me, but luckily they still refunded my money as it's still within the timeframe to return.

How I Know these items are Fakes?
- The Perfume Minaudiere is missing a special hotstamp on the hardware. My friend have got the exact same minaudiere bought from the store years ago and I got to compare side by side, that's how I know what I got from Reebonz is a fake.
- Chanel T-Shirt, I got the same Tshirt but different color and compare it side by side too.

I agree with the poster that it's not worth time and drama. What if I did not realized it was fake? Meaning I could have wasted so much money these fake items. Even with very experienced authenticators, there's still a risk the product may be fake, so Best to buy with a peace of mind from the stores.

Completely agree. I actually think there are a whole bunch of people who might have bought from resellers but have not bothered/wanted to get it authenticated and are walking around with things that are actually fake.

For everyone doubting my story check out this link. I didn't realise I had two usernames and my other username is Fingerscrossed and you can see I requested authentication on here but I wasn't a regular poster and you can also see the reebonz link to the bag I bought. I wouldn't be surprised if there are reebonz reps on here reading all this
