I didn't see a regular thread for this but perhaps there should be a sticky thread for people to share their experiences of being duped so that others can learn from their experiences.
I bought an hermes birkin bag from Reebonz who I thought was a well reputed store but to be doubly sure I sent it into hermes for a repair and after many months hermes emailed stating that it fake. Well their wording is 'it's not made by Hermes Paris' and they have confiscated the bag but will be forwarding a letter of some sort explaining the situation to me.
So to all out there, be careful when purchasing because even ostensibly 'well reputed' stores sell fakes so always send your stuff into the actual sttore if you can to authenticate!
Very, very sorry for you, this is everyone's nightmare and I hope the situation resolves totally satisfactorily for you.
What I learned by glancing at their site is they are all about selling and selling, more and more. Firstly, rewards and coupons like a 5 'n' dime is a standard business model for
some sectors but it doesn't promote faith or trust selling rare luxury goods. There is something an 'Affiliate Program' with very little information about it before getting someone to sign up. My judgement of the operation is their Web presence and connected technical know-how is
far in advance of their expertise in the products they're trading. All alarm bells for me.
Regards Daikokuya, they've a good long standing reputation. I've bought from them and am very happy with my purchase (though I've never bought anything preloved and high value that I couldn't inspect physically). However, I have seen fake items in their London store, so for your peace of mind I'd get professional, independent paid for authentication for your other B too. Even though I believe we have the most expert authenticators on planet H, authentication via tPF can only be treated as a guide or a first step. Only paid for authentication from a business service can provide legal redress (if needed).
The other thing I noticed when looking at H items is that many are described incorrectly even if authentic. HACs are described as Bs and there is mis-information on colours and leathers.
I think there's real cheek in Reebonz' reading you their auto-response 'we only sell authentic blah'. Total salt into the wounds. However they say:
"...All pre-owned items are guaranteed authentic before any item is listed on the website or physical stores. Certifications will be provided for the following items*:
- Certification for bags and leather goods: Hermès Kelly and Hermès Birkin only"
If you have certification from them for your fake B
and a letter from H indicating your fake B will have to be confiscated (it will be destroyed) their assurances and certification mean NOTHING. What does that say about non-K or B items they
don't 'certificate'? Evidence from their own site suggests they seem totally unconcerned by
what they're selling.
