Are you using alcohol-free baby wipes? It looks like something damaged the vinyl on the surface of the canvas.
Yes I used alcohol free. It is brand new so there shouldn’t be any damage at all
Hi all, I have a similar problem with white marks. This is on my mom’s 2016 Mabillon.
Where you would normally grasp to pull the outside pocket open, it looks like an entire spot of coating rubbed off, leaving the coating around it whitish. I also found white marks on the front bottom corner and very obviously on the side. Pics attached.
The canvas doesn’t seem cracked or broken in any way, just these unsightly white marks in the crevices of the canvas. My mom had never used any products on the canvas. I tried wiping with alcohol free baby wipes but the marks didn’t budge. Any tips? Should I bring this in to a store? It wasn’t purchased in the US so we wouldn’t have a purchase record, for this bag.

Yes, Hand sanitizer is not impossible, given the times we live in. It does look like the coating came off, doesn’t it? Especially that one circular area where you could grab to pull the pocket open.
I’m not sure what to make of those white patches though.
I guess I’ll have to drive in to a store and show them but they’ll probably just brush me off. Ugh.
