the 90s is one of my fave decades for scarves (60s is my other fave). I could probably do 6 months of 90s scarves w/o repeating so unless I get any special requests, I am thinking of combining with next wk and do 90s jacquards only. how does that sound?

j'adore. everything works in this pic from the lipstick to the concentric doorways in the background adding to the graphics of the scarf. :smile1:

Thank you so much. The mirrored closet doors work in my favor ~ but your kind words are appreciated.

TT - I totally agree with seton - you are all fabulousness.

I am waiting to see seton's bountiful harvest of 90 silks! :yahoo:

I think this one fits theme week, and I got to wear it this weekend at the museum with 12 dollar coral shantung silk jacket from consignment store. Worn Obi sash style, Daimyo (issued 1990, F. Facconet) fits the bill for this week's and next week's themes - nineties and jacquard silks.

And, to enable some 14O summer silk love - Equateur with sale BR dress.

Oh Silkie Friends, you all look ammmmmazzzzing!! So much necessary gushing...

Flava: you are shameless with Hermes and that is just how one has to approach this crazy brand. You are my hero darling. Can't wait to see you "Secret" shawl! Your new twillies are precious too (another thread)

Flava, I love your dedication to the hunt, like the Canadian Mounties, you get your grail, LOL!

I got the biggest chuckle from these 2 comments on so many different levels! TY ladies! I have definately turned into a Quasi-Hermes-Bounty Hunter. I used to be so intimidated and shy about even stepping foot in a boutique... my how times have changed...

Well, today was sunny and beautiful so I just couldn't help myself but to break out some winter whites and splash it all up with color galore!!!!! I also wore silk on my B... ;)

Bag Cousin, (mine has phw), I LOVE your new twillies and how you tied them! I have never seen the ends tied like that before! (You are so creative!) Your Goldie looks GOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!:D I also LOVE your Cent Plis GM! (I am a cousin as well, I have three of the silk 90s in this pattern. I'm kinda OC when it comes to this design. Sure wish I had that shawl!!! You look lovely as always!)

Lanit, Your Daimyo tied as an Obi sash took my breath away. Stunning! Your jacket is also a big hit! Love your Equator styled with your BR dress! Lucky you to score it on sale!!

A big hugs to all fellow scarfies :hugs:.
I've just got back from an almost 3-week trip to Asia to visit my family for the Lunar New year. Now back home to my beloved scarf harem and will be able to do Saturday scarf playtime ritual again!!! :choochoo:

A late thanks to Luvbolide, Pierina2, mimi 123, Ladybaga, seton, lanit, jp_536, VnSoie, etoile le mer, sparklelisab, and frou frou: Thank you all for the lovely compliments on my Turandot post earlier this month. I hope you all enjoyed it and I'm pretty sure it will be among the very few lengthy posts I'll make this year. Next time pics will do most of the job!

I've not been able to post much until now, but thank you all for your lovely pictures and some enabling power :D.
On top of my head:
lanit you looked gorgeous and elegant in the Equateur GM scarf. Great choice dear! The capucine Chevaux Qataris and the tulips are such great match! Very cheerful and feminine!
Hermesick I can see somebody just fell on the orange slope :graucho:, especially the CS GM slope. The start of the slope is very slippery for sure :D (I've been there, catching up with must-haves stage is very dangerous!)
Btw, your previous avatar was really gorgeous. I thought it was a photo of a celebrity or so.
Ladybaga: the black white CDG scarf was soooo eye-catching! Look great on you, lady!
IF: that L'arbre de Vie twilly is so striking! Straight to my wish list now.

and ur daimyo is the best colourway. I will try to follow your lead in the bargain dept, hehehe.

welcome back, Chestnutty. I'm sure your scarf harem missed their mistress. :smile1:

seton's 90s jacquard bi-week

so I will start with a staple in any 90s power collector's wardrobe: Carnaval de Venise, of course. I haz 6, so why am I only showing 2? well 2 are cashmere (no jacquard) and 2 are Fetes de Venitiennes. The name change occured in the early 2000s so I consider it an ought.

pic came out bad. the border on this is dark green, not black. I dont love Halloween THAT much. :D

the jacquard is 3 different sizes of stars thruout. Reissues dont have the jacquard. Sadness. <plays Taps>

Oh and wearing it with my $9 Joe Fresh sweater :smile1:

Glad u love the L'A DV twilly too!!! You will flip when u see the beautiful little animals and flower detailing!!! I'm not going to invest too much into a large twilly collection, but these may move me so much that I may get the turqu cw of this design. Waiting to see them IRL. One word: Darling. That is them...
