Easy dear!! This is the approach I take on current season items available through the boutique... (not out of season HGs...thats a healthy combination of luck and stalking and connections!)
1-Call your SA, tell him/her what you want. Helps if you have the code for the item so they won't have to go look it up and be too busy to do all that for you.
2-Have them check the system and tell you if the item is in any stores in the US. If so, go to the boutique immediately and have the SA to call the store that has the item to do a "charge-send". That means the store that has the item will send it to your home (free shipping).
3-If the store agrees to the charge-send (the item may be in the system but not available for various reasons), you will pay your SA at the boutique for the item plus sales tax of your state and that is it!!!!
4-If no one has the item, repeat steps 1-3 until you find it.

MYSTERY SOLVED! ;)

Was it always free shipping? Somehow I can't remember that I ever got free shipping from H. Be nice to get a tracking number, too.

HA! Yes, I have done this before! I always feel like I am bugging the SA when I continuously call asking her to check again. But I will continue to pursue until I am victorious!!

It has always been free for me to do a charge-send. I can't speak for that as a "rule"...but I have been scolded for buying from H.com for paying shipping by my SA who always says "I will do a charge send for you and you save the shipping charges dear".... Now, once I called Madison myself and asked for an item... I was charged for the shipping. When its been a charge-send from my SA, never. I have done 4 charge-sends in 2 months. 2 more today from 2 different stores....no charge...No tracking number.

I know it takes guts to call repeatedly but I would rather call than to lose sleep wanting something or miss out ESPECIALLY when I know its out there!!!! I take a cue from the posts on the forum. If someone posts something I want and they are in the US... I will be on the phone the next day to my SA. Betta believe it!!!! hahahahah

...and finally a pic!

I can't say this was the result of any specific enabling, so I shall just say I'm still in my 'green' phase. I dream of a Bal Moto, but live in a very comfortable Eileen Fisher wool; Etendards, here, or any other H substitute in my small collection, makes me feel just as special. Thanks again for letting me share!

Dear Textilegirl - thank you for your compliments ! You look beautiful in green !

Ooooh, I feel empowered now!!

I agree, I've always received free shipping on charge sends. And I can't tell you how many I've done... 5 or so? And I've also gotten free shipping when I call a store myself and have them ship to me. But that SA has just been amazing.. So, not sure if that's the norm when you call the store yourself. :)

Oh Silkie Friends, you all look ammmmmazzzzing!! So much necessary gushing...

Flava: you are shameless with Hermes and that is just how one has to approach this crazy brand. You are my hero darling. Can't wait to see you "Secret" shawl! Your new twillies are precious too (another thread)

Textile: honey, my green friend, you are going to have a problem if you see the mentionings of Lanit. CenC and the new summer silk Astrologie are made for you! I adore your brick-y lipstick with the blues/greens. Fabulous!

PG: OMG! I had to walk away from this gm yesterday because I had to CHOOSE between a CDC and this shawl in the chartreuse cw. I wept a bit but had to be a big girl and be thankful for my new dog collar bracelet. This shawl irl is a piece of art! Irl, the boats are fluid and somehow work with the seemingly odd pairing with folliage. We have missed you pics and are glad to see you.

Lanit: what a stunning picture--so artistically captured. Honey, did I read this right? There is a black/white cw of Tous les Bateaux in a gm? Ruh row...

arabesques: you are so dang darling and I will now go look at Nars' Dragon. I wear red lipstick about once a week and this might be my new one.

froufrou: your prose is almost better than your pics and I can imagine the peeps in your world--so different from mine.

Hermesick: you wear everything beautifully and I adore this tobacco color of your Pique.

jp536: Your Graff is beautiful on you! Such a slam of color. And honey, just like Ladybaga and arabesques have said, the mousses are "silken steel." Of all my pieces, I wear my changeant mousse the most and it is in flawless condition. I have 3 and they are perfect for California weather.

dooneybaby: your posts are lovely. Such bright choices and I adore the Le Mors in the green.

alundpre: your teals and greens are delicious. Perfection in knot and presentation

Tanker: That losange is fabulous and I bet you will be borrowing it as well!

Foxgal: what a great look and I adore the yellow hems. Those are fun!

Lanit

Bless you for this, I'm in love .... The cappucine colour is so lovely and I adore cusp colours that verge on this or that. Cappucine are nasturtiums [I think] those fiery flowers with the enchanting round leaves so beloved by furry caterpillars .
The white horses are packed full of graceful energy and so lovely against the cappucine , and that fuschia border , just the icing on a delicious cake .

Thanks for sharing and enabling :smile1:
froufrou - you do have a way with words. I am laughing alongside Flava about the caterpillars. I never did like those creatures, but then, they do turn into butterflies right? Yes Watrigant is my favorite of the horse artists. For anyone interested, a twin is available right now on the Bay (ellya).

IF - I have been remiss in complimenting you on how gorgeous the Pique GM looks on you. And we are all waiting with great excitement on your latest find. ;)

foxgal, what a treat! Accomplishment of the elusive friendship knot is noteworthy all by itself, but then, here comes Ms Wa ko ni! Beautiful!

PoliticalGal, so nice to see you and your fabulous GM collection. How perfect is your yellow skirt for the Bateaux? The pattern-on-pattern with your top is pretty cool, but if you are anything like me, Bateaux will give life to that skirt through a large swath of your t-shirt pile; fast and out of the door in the morning!

Flava, I love your dedication to the hunt, like the Canadian Mounties, you get your grail, LOL!

And thank you arabesques, Ladybaga, etoile, Hermesick and sparkle :flowers: I left Etendards sitting on the chair to air out (that means it was in a pile with the rest of the crap I hadn't put away) and I glanced at it often (the pile sat there) and I have to say, sometimes these designs please me beyond all reason.

Those Were the Days, Part III: 1990's era scarves

This week we're going to dip into the not-so-distant past...

Back to a time when Seinfeld and Friends dominated Primetime...

"The Rachel" was all the rage...

Mariah Carey, Dave Mathews Band, Pearl Jam, Nirvana ruled the airwaves...

Minimalism, grunge, and heroin chic helped define fashion (can anyone look at flannel without cringing?)

Those Were the Days, Part III: 1990's era scarves

the 90s is one of my fave decades for scarves (60s is my other fave). I could probably do 6 months of 90s scarves w/o repeating so unless I get any special requests, I am thinking of combining with next wk and do 90s jacquards only. how does that sound?

Not fifties but with the gingham maybe sort of. See more ways tied here

This is an amazing scarf.

j'adore. everything works in this pic from the lipstick to the concentric doorways in the background adding to the graphics of the scarf. :smile1:
