My Laboratoire du temps, fitting to my grey hair :-((

you always look so debonair and debonair is ageless. :smile1:

Here is an off theme scarf that I wore last week (Fleurs d' Indiennes )when we had sunshine. It is still rainy today, so I will be wearing a necklace instead of a scarf when I head out to work. I admire textilegirl in her recent GM shawl (green) with banners. So, this one's for her. (What do you think of my matchy-matchy green jacket, textilegirl?):winkiss:

you are an inspiration to us all with your choice in colors . . . and jackets. Love.

Ladybaga - you look stunning ! Your sense of color is so excellent !

And here is my L'Art du Temari in action :smile1:

that's a great color on you.

ok, asia wk. we'll see how much energy I will have for this. . . .

Love the cashmere scarves, your real passion for H design and workmanship comes through in these posts .These are precious, I love seeing the older designs and you wear them so very well.

that is one of the nicest compliments anyone has ever given me, thank you!

Dear all,

Not to be dramatic, but you've been kind to ask and express concern, so I thought I would share what's been going on. Just before Christmas, I discovered that my mother has been the victim of a financial scam. She had been quite secretive and defensive towards me for some months, and now her doctor has diagnosed mild dementia. I've known something was wrong for over a year but could get no diagnosis or action until now. It's quite a mess, and frustrating--and a few other emotions that I will not name in this genteel forum :) . Then, in January, my biological grandmother died. Though I'd only known her for about 15 years (I was adopted as an infant), she and I had become close. She lived a good, long life. I will miss her, but I am very grateful I had the chance to know her.

Anyway, I thank you for your friendship and support (you know who you are). It's been comforting to know you are here and that I could pop in for a few minutes of relief from time to time. I'm sorry I haven't been able to contribute. Thank you, thank you for being here.

Looking back over the past few pages to catch-up a bit...:doggie:

It is DH BDay and I bought THESE for him to choose from. He is pretty conservative, these might be too much but hoping at least one of these will be something he likes :D

Which did he choose TankerToad? Love the bottom one!

Fantastic silks for theme week hermesick! Taking a quick lunch break and here is ELK from the weekend. I need to get my pile of silks ready mid week! Welcoming in Year of the Snake. It is DH's year. Looking at TT's ideas for DH's too.

This looks beautiful on you lanit, so colorful, and cheerful!

seton, you have the most beautiful skin tone. These neutrals with touches of color suit you beautifully! I love how you have featured some scarves that we do not get to see much of around here. Is the first one you posted called "Groenland"? (Sorry, my spelling may not be correct or the name of the scarf for that matter.) If so, this is such a striking design with the shadows cast and the icy landscape. My boutique never received the reissue of this one when it came out maybe last year? (A bit foggy on the date.) Anyway, whatever it is, you certainly look amazing in it!

EDIT: Silly me, I can now see the that the first scarf is not Groenland. duh. Sorry for the mix-up. I do stand by my comment that it looks marvelous on you, dear seton! ("Meh" to you, but marvelous to us!!)

Thank you , etoile! Hope you are doing well! :smile1:

Dear Ladyb, thanks so much, and hoping to be able to come out and play again, soon! ;) So very sorry to hear about your mother. I imagine you bringing infinite cheer to her, and boundless support to your father. Such a sad and cruel disease, and my heart goes out to all affected by it.

VnSoie

VnSoie, so sorry for all this. Don't know if this would be helpful or relevant to you but there is a book I heard someone recommend called Still Alice by Lisa Genova which I understand is a story about early onset dementia from the perspective of the person going thru it.
