Not to be dramatic, but you've been kind to ask and express concern, so I thought I would share what's been going on. Just before Christmas, I discovered that my mother has been the victim of a financial scam. She had been quite secretive and defensive towards me for some months, and now her doctor has diagnosed mild dementia. I've known something was wrong for over a year but could get no diagnosis or action until now. It's quite a mess, and frustrating--and a few other emotions that I will not name in this genteel forum
Anyway, I thank you for your friendship and support (you know who you are). It's been comforting to know you are here and that I could pop in for a few minutes of relief from time to time. I'm sorry I haven't been able to contribute. Thank you, thank you for being here.

My prayers are with you VnSoie. If you need to get away, you can always come to my part of the country for some R and R (and H). I am sending hugs to you down the road. Hang in there, and let me know if I can do anything to help you during this time. (My mother has alzheimers, so I can understand the frustrations of dementia.) I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your grandmother but what a blessing it was for you to get to spend time with her and know her. On this thread I feel like our ties go deeper than scarf collecting, wearing, and appreciation. At the end of the day, when silks go back in their boxes, know that we are here to support you.

Here is an off theme scarf that I wore last week (Fleurs d' Indiennes )when we had sunshine. It is still rainy today, so I will be wearing a necklace instead of a scarf when I head out to work. I admire textilegirl in her recent GM shawl (green) with banners. So, this one's for her. (What do you think of my matchy-matchy green jacket, textilegirl?)

VnSoie, I'm so terribly sorry about these tragic events. I can't imagine how outraged you must have been when you discovered your mother had been scammed and so cruelly taken advantage of. I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of your grandmother as well.
