I have an odd scarf styling question I hope it is OK to ask my scarfie friends here:
You know how some H scarves come soft in and "drapy" while others are "starchy" and harder to drape? Do you style them differently because of their texture differences? If so please elaborate on what knot looks best with each! Thanks! XOXOX!

IrisJ I've aleady told you on your blog, the red Charmante aux Animaux is simply stunning .As always you choose superb clothes to showcase this lovely scarf.

Bienchen You must be crowned Queen of Earth Colours ! You work with plants and earth , so somehow you seem to have an affinity for them . This GF shawl and your lovely Pierres prove my point , lovely on you.

FritillaryB Wow to your regal Domes Celestes This ties so well , and the colours are beyond gorgeous.

RoseUSA Thanks for showing us Etendards which looks beautiful when worn . I'm not great on certain motifs, flags included . But this proves the point that we can only judge how a scarf works by seeing action shots .

It also proves to me that Annie Faivre is a genius !

Hope to have a little time to take some pictures today , just need to get DH into the garden ....

Sparklelisab Congratulations on finding your perfect cashmere shawl . The orange !!
The purple ! Yes , this one is certainly special and I can see you'll look so gorgeous in it .
And... the bag , wow !

Far too many !!!, but how can I resist when you spring these surprises !

A big orange wave to all the lovely scarfies! :ghi5:

I've recovered from my flu and have best intentions to catch up on the last 14 pages :sweatdrop:, but for now want to share my look from last saturday and (as requested) also post a "how to" of my knot from last week.

probably once again not going along with the theme, but matching my outfit I wore my beloved Poneys de Polo - and since my throat was still a bit sore, I just casually folded it into a triangle and tied it close to my neck. ;)

Now on to the HOW TO of last weeks knot.
I discovered that one by playing around a while ago - trying to figure out a casual, relaxed way of wearing my 90s silks not too close to the neck (good for warmer days).

If I have time, I'll also try to post a video on my blog later this week.
I took these pics right when I got home last saturday, therefore not using last weeks Coupons Indiens, but the scarf I was already wearing, Poneys de Polo.

Not trying to take credit for the creation, but (for now) I refer to it as the "triangle twist". :D

1. fold scarf into triangle
2. fold twice
3. wrap around neck and comfortably tie in the back with
3a. the fold showing (3 and 3a are combined in one pic)
4. take end of triangle and
5. tuck end ...

... to be continued with three more pics

6. pull end all the way through
7. adjust
8. result

Also wanted to add that result and the way the scarf end "falls" depends on how close you tie the scarf to your neck. Hope, this makes sense and have fun experimenting! - xox, Macs :smile1:

My Silkie Friends, I posted a reveal of a Birthday Bash this weekend, but I had to share something personal with my scarf friends. No one in my life wears scarves, and if they do, they cost $19.99 (no snooty judgment here--just trying to help you understand)and no one knows what Hermes scarves are and just how important they have become to me so who can I share my excitement with? YOU! This birthday weekend, I picked out my first SHAWL. I kept thinking of you all!!

I spent quite a bit of time at the scarf counter with a fun, odd woman who was also buying a shawl. She loved the Feline scarf and had a few cws in her pile. For an animal lover, you would think that this shawl would rock my world. Nope. Didn't do anything for me. Then, the Kimonos scarf?? The one that many of you swoon for?? The lime green wasn't working for me in the particular cw I was trying on, and I was feeling so disappointed. Au Fil du Carre wasn't working either.. My stranger friend had on a lovely piece draped over her shoulders--nothing fancy, but she said, honey, try on this one. To be nice I did and that was history. I don't own any "horse-ish" scarves and to fall in love with this one is so unpredictable to me. But on, it took my breath away. Crazy. It came home with me. A perfect neutral! I am so excited: my sa said these were addictive. I'm scared.

Thank you for letting me digress from Annie week with my first shawl! Mors a Jouets. (and my new bag!)

Pls pls model!! I saw this at the store and I couldn't take my eyes off it but because it was orange I just didn't dare to try.

WOHOO for monkey finding week! :graucho:

Here I have an Etendards et Bannieres worn two different styles, showing different facets of colors and patterns - artful design that Faivre does so beautifully!

I also enjoyed finding the mystery monkeys. The two "possible" monkey symbols I found are shown. What do you think? Both are monkeys?

RoseUSA, I think one is a lion on a scepter and the other is a jester, the court comedian.

Want to start this by THANKING ALL OF YOU for your GET WELL WISHES - each and every single one helped and I'm all well again now!

After checking the last 17 pages; this is, what I have to say (sure hope, I didn't miss anything) and I want to mention that I came here first, even before updating my own site.

Ladybaga - hope, you're all well again as well and thanks for the NyQuil! knocked me out for a week, but obviously needed the rest. You're looking fresh there; always great to see a happy pop of orange! :amuse:

sophieg - thank you and I'm a huge fan of your classic rouge h scarf! :smile1:

pussywillow - Thank you and sorry for repyling so late; really thought I'd beat that one, but no chance. I did some tpf-surfing on my iPad, but just couldn't get myself up and do a HowTo before last Saturday/posting today. :sweatdrop:

imoline - great piece of red. Thank you for your sweet remark; I was so happy to get my hands on the CI; really should take it out more often.

Scarf Addict - not to worry, I also occasionally find myself looking around. Great pop of purple and also agree, regarding the pros on this "knot style", but also admire your red criss-cross bow knot! ;)

lanit - thank you and that's exactly, what I want them to be. When we're out and about, my DH is so kind to "shoot me". Most times, when I take action pics for either here or my blog I also refer to the mirror, but personally I prefer the "real life" ones. Love your pop of red and your classic way to wear it! :D

Well ,at last DH is pruning the ivy so can't disturb my TPF time !

Starting with the smallest of my Annie Faivre silks : Grand Fonds in orange /blue . I love wearing my gavroches as hairbands , and like the way the eye shows here...

textilegirl - thank you and although I'm not sure, if this one hasn't been done before, I came up with it myself, simply by playing around and I'll definitely sport it more often. also love your happy red/orange wrap plus your chic mousseline/farandole combo! :smile1:

Bienchen - Thank you and I really like your knot plus scarf!

Euridice - Thank you and I'm such a fan of mousselines (only have a non-H so far) and the way you tied it - still hope to find one in the orange corner myself. Also admire your simple way to wear the Zabavuschka and your casual knot from March, 21st and the Brazil stole as well!

fritillaryB - classy (in a friendly way), wow; you couldn't have given me a nicer compliment - huge hug for that one! Looking lovely there in Aqua and did I mention, that you make me lust for a classic light pink scarf (this is coming from a non-pink person!) :amuse:

Maedi - Thank you and grog might have done the trick. Doesn't alcohol kill bugs? That Wärmflasche also came in handy, though. ;)

TangoTosca - you're also so sweet, big Thanks for your lovely compliment and I can't wait to see my twin in action! Awesome combo of black, white and just the perfect touch of red! :woohoo:

hermesguy - very chic. I better not show this to the Mr. He might go and dig into my scarf drawer! Same opinion regarding the 2nd and 3rd scarf. :p

Pomba - congrats on the weight loss; but even more importantly on your lovely knot and scarf. I also have a black business dress and you're a wonderful inspiration! :ghi5:

RoseUSA - absolutely love both your reds and the way you tied them! (note to self: Still have to master "the shoulder wrap") :smile1:

micheldietlin - looking very stylish!

hannahsophia - great pop of red and a round of applause for wearing silks on a rainy day!

Iris j - Oh my gosh! You almost made me :faint:! As great as it is to have personal style, but when it comes to scarfs and h-looks (as a classic lover) being compared with our great MT is definitely the best one can achieve!
:yahoo: infront of my screen and saving your comment for ever! And I can only return the compliment; you look superchic and absolutely rock those silks! :hugs:

sparklelisab - beautiful mousseline; almost a little jealous here! And thanks for showing us "the chevre"; will never order one of those now. I mean, we all know, where those bags originate, but ... - anyway:
Happy belated Birthday! :partyhat:Huge congrats on all your great choices and wishing you lots of fun wearing them!

loves - awesome 70s; also love those!

Nefredity - WOW; is all I can come up with!

julian.f - you're always the picture of elegance! :sunnies

etoile de mer - :welcome: and what a lovely way to start! Looking forward to seeing more action from you!

Bond7Girl - awesome look!

MetzFan - what a great weay to "weighten" the scarf, so it'll stay in place. Will copy that one soon! :smile1:

frou frou - love both your ways to wear your Grands Fonds!

Spring arrived :cool::sunshine:

Hi! I can't wait to come back later and look at everyone's silky beauties. Looking good so far!! In the meantime, I am a copycat cousin to julian.f! I am wearing my new Psyche, which was the scarf I had taken back because of a snag, and they found me a new one. Some of you may remember that that's when I found my true loves, the Axis Mundi and the Double Sens!!

I had seen this scarf for so long on the H site, and it really grew on me to the point that I just had to have it. I think it will be versatile with its colors and geometric design.

A few years ago I had seen a French opera called "Psyché" and they had pronounced it kind of like "soo-SHAY". My SA always pronounces the French names really well, and in this instance I was saying soo-SHAY and she was just calling it SIE-kee as in English! I thought that was ironic, the first time I tried to actually pronounce it French-like. ha ha !

At any rate, I promise I have Annie Faivre on tap for this week, but the weather was perfect today for a giant silk scarf so I had to go with it!
