You have such a way with words, Sparkles. It's a marvelous piece, and I'm so happy for you. You look radiant in your sun scarf (pun intended!) and we're cousins by way of Les Sangles de Phoebus.

By the way, I think you should lend a little "Grace" to this thread: "Lumieres de Paris??"

TT--What timing. A beautiful, brand new Lumieres is on ebay right now and I keep looking. I really want your blue cw or the brown cw but hate passing this one. The pics are fabulous...oh dang. The last two scarves in a ban are bad, but another?? Shoot!

loves, age certainly hasn't reached your amazing legs yet! Kelly en Perles is one of my favourite 70cm silk designs - your colour way is spot on for the Britannia fest (Queen's Diamond Jubilee this year) and I like the insouciant way of wearing it.

I still hanker after Pierina's ebony and ivory version......another Hopeless Grail for sure!

thanks and there is an ebony and ivory version? sounds gorgeous and right up my alley

How did it get to be March??? I think a hundred pages have been added since I've posted! I've popped in and out and lurked and admired all of you lovelies (and handsomies) from time to time, but it's been a little crazy around here.

First, happy birthday to Lanit! I hope you have had a fabulous day, and many congratulations on your new H beauties.

Second, I understand I have been outted here and so my presence was demanded to do a little reveal, even though this is a scarf thread; I hope you all don't mind. I am so off the schedule on scarves, but things have generally been a little etoupe around here for the last few weeks.... Without further ado, may I introduce you to Miss Chocolate Milk Garden Party? I laughed when I brought her home and realized she's exactly the color of the accent wall in my living room! And here I have been, swearing I was not into brown. :p Today's scarf is Eperon d'Or.

Let's just say that my absence here has in no way diminished the Enabling Effect of tPF, woe to my wallet.

Part of what's kept me so busy is planning a trip to Amsterdam and Paris for early April--on very short notice, for DBF and myself. He said, "plan a trip to Amsterdam...." and the VERY first thing that came to mind, and eclipsed the next several minutes of whatever he might have said, was "Three Hs! Three Hs!" And then we added Paris...so SIX H boutiques in my path--eek. Pray for me, that's all I can say. I may have a stroke. (Is there no antivenin/antidote for the Orange Affliction? I've been bitten by a Negonda!)

CLAPPING!! I think this is the prettiest GP ever. When I saw one in Paris on the rue du Bac, I wanted to head straight to H and order one up--and I thought I didn't like GP. That it matches your environment says exactly everything that needs to be said and celebrated.

Meanwhile, six H boutiques! Time to figure out what you want--and figure out what you hope fate gives you--and ride the breeze. You will have such a beautiful, beautiful trip. xo [Sorry for outing you--I've just missed so many pages, I figured it had happened. My deepest apologies.]

VnSoie - this is a most versatile, classic and gorgeous bag! Congratulations!
Tango Tosca - your red one is fabulous as well and the Geometrie Cretoise is fabulous. I haven't been to Crete but heard it is magnificent.
lanit - Happy, happy birthday dear fellow piscean! Lots of happiness and sunshine for the new year. Your Fd'I is so beautiful and the colors perfect for you - it will be so cool in the summer as well. Guess what? My GM Fd'I arrived today in c/w 05 bleu jean/prune/vert - isn't that funny? Siblings with you. I have the olive 90 cm and it is one of my absolute favorites. I love the feel of the big silk. Your bracelet is unique and super cool. What great birthday presents.
froufrou - thank you for the summary of all the scarf design analyses. That was great to read!
iris - great look with APdE. Always elegant and modern!
pussywillow - Coupons is so fresh and radiant on you!
sparklelisab - WOW! Two great scarves and two scarves that are gorgeous together! Well-done! I am picturing Iris' image of the white Tee, khaki pants and your Pavois - I bet that's a great look! MiL has sheep that are lambing right now - it's so nice to see the new life in the spring. That's quite a lot of cows for you and a quick growth of the herd.
pierina - no barrel racing for me - but I love to watch it - just leisure riding and having fun with my horse. I miss it so much!
fritillary -All your looks are fantastic.
Euridice - I love the loden ACSMC on you! Great choice and a classic for sure.

Thank you so much, Arabesques! To say that you are an inspiration...or would that be instigator? ;) ...would be putting it mildly! No worries at all on the "outing"...I'm just pulling your leg. I didn't know whether it would be appropriate to do a reveal here, but I should have known Miss Chocolate Milk would be warmly welcomed here (...to the sisterhood of Sigma Omicron Tau Delta?).

Oh, yes, I have a hit list, I mean, wish list. It's a good thing most of this season's scarves aren't singing the siren's song to me, because lots of other things are.

Can I just say, your leather GP made me say, WOW out loud!!! (I made my husband jump.) That is one gorgeous bag! The etoupe is perfect with your coloring! Congrats on a gorgeous bag!!!

Have a wonderful trip! Sounds like an Orange Adventure awaits!! Oh, to be in Paris and Amsterdam in the Springtime! It truly is the best time to visit!

Lovin' your Ed'Or!!:smile1:

euridice, pierina, arabesques ladybaga, pussywillow, froufrou - thank you for the sv love and for the birthday wishes! What glorious weather we are having indeed. Dh and i will celebrate this evening with a wonderful french meal (and i am tempted to wear the a la gloire silk, but then there is my present below to consider). Although the 70 is easier to slurp mussels with for sure lol!

iris - we have missed your elegant poses and photos, and each time i see your modeling a silk it is so very stunning - aux pays d'epices is a masterpiece on you.

teha - waving hi and look at that colorful band of silk - first i've seen of the rendez vous au 24.

pussywillow - your blue coupons is brilliant on you. We are channeling ms. Honore's work today.

euridice - silk cousines on marcelina - what a gorgeous combination of blues and greens - spring is here!

I received these wonderful goodies for my birthday, and want to raise a mimosa toast to some dear scarfies here who are my inspiration : arabesques for teasing out a new interest in horn, pierina for her amazing taste in bracelets and silks - especially now that my silk closet has an equal amount of blues to reds, to textilegirl who keeps my silks inventory in check now and then when i am borderline obsessed over a new pattern, and to markova and robee, two gals who really seem to know when something will suit me is just around the corner and encourage me to wait. Finally the long awaited 140 washed silks arrived at my store and the out of the world horn cuff that pierina recently modeled and i swooned over, were just waiting to be swooped up as my gifts. Lastly, a quick wink to tango - you reached out for the oranges in your new cretoise shawl, and i went for my first shawl with golds, browns and creams in this fleurs'd indiennes! There is always one that will turn the thinking around as to how unexpected colors can work for everyone, given the right combination!

fleurs d"indiennes washed gm colorway 02, corail/bleu/brun and machette horn and sterling silver bracelet.

happy bday to you..happy bday 2 u!...happy birthday, dear lanit.....happy birthday toooooooo youuuuuuuuu!

PIERINA, that is a longhorn, and it appears to be a steer (rather than a cow or bull). Actually, it appears to be a None of the Above, to tell the truth...last I looked at cattle, anyway.

I think I have to have this scarf, "Kelly en Perles"...

loves, I grew up with horses, and have never stopped admiring their beauty. Horses are perfection.

frittilaryb, fantastic cw of Quai aux Fleures...

happy belated birthday lanit!

Ok Tango, froufrou, I'll dig out some vintage... btw, didn't realize des Epices tied so well...that's a surprise I know, coming from me.... nod to IrisJ on that one too!

Ok John, now THAT is a good look. Did the shirt come from Brittany? Those "fisherman" shirts they sell at stands there are the BEST fabric.

Re: the longhorns. They ARE amazing. not-so DH#2 bought a set of the horns and had it shipped to NYC. The doorman called to say we had...uh...an unusual package. They had packed the center in a box and the horns were sticking out on either side. Gawd, I wish I had a picture of THAT one!!

Sophieg, pussywillow, lanit, arabesques, thanks for the comment on "Les Toits"; I almost gave away the white, but it has grown on me. I also have the copper/red? Now that's a beauty.

Jahna, thanks for the compliment :) I have never been to Brittany (or anywhere else in France <sigh>) but I have been known to frequent Neiman Marcus on occasion. Some years ago, I captured this shirt, which I wore more frequently when more svelte. :(
