Hi, in the market for a preowned rolex. Narrowed it down to these two.
Date just 31 and OP 31. Which do you think?

I have an Air King with the same dial color and bracelet as the second watch you're showing. I find the dial color very neutral if that's a concern for you. It isn't the easiest dial to read but maybe you have better vision than me.
the first watch has a mop dial? I usually like mop but in the photo, that watch looks sort of old to me

Do you have a picture of yours? Just worried that the pink might look too salmon in some lighting? it’s a 2003 model.

Here is another picture of the first one, it’s a silver dial not mop but definitely more traditional.

The recommended service intervals on the 2003 watch would be every five years. The newer watch would be every ten years. Just in case that makes a difference to you. Rolex made changes in their movements.
Thank you for the info! It was hard to dig up any info on the change in calibre. But servicing frequency definitely comes into play, especially with the older watch.

Well now it’s down to these two. The datejust is brand new from an AD and the OP is a 2018 very good condition.
Which one do I go for? Sporty or classic?

Really, you need to work out what you're after style wise. These are very different choices. For me, the Jubilee fluted is a total classic, and more feminine and a bit dressier compared to the OP. (I have a Jubilee fluted with Romans.)

If you can buy new you get a lot of benefit: indisputable authenticity, original warranty, running order at peak. Hopefully if you're considered preowned you have high confidence in the dealer, as in no qualms at all about the possibility it has non-Rolex replacement parts.

Good points! If I could have both I would! I was originally looking for a sporty watch because I already have a more formal watch. But I feel like with the datejust I would probably wear it for casual and it would replace my formal watch too.
I guess I’m looking for an every day watch, but I have never been afraid of a little bling for every day wear.

Hi all, I am feeling quite conflicted on which style dial I should buy. I have been offered the Roman numerals 31mm datejust! Not sure if I should take the offer or wait for a diamond dial. Any opinions or pictures if you own similar are welcome (I have found it difficult to find pics online of the Roman). Both are size 31, fluted bezel, yellow gold/steel jubilee bracelet. I have attached some photos found online. Thank you!

I think it all depends on the color combo you go with. I used my Roman numeral one daily for years, thinking diamonds were reserved for special occasions and evening wear. That is until, an extremely close near death experience occurred and I survived it, promising myself I would live each day as if it was my last. So now, I wear all my diamond watches on the daily  lol. I thought they would be too much but actually they compliment my daily outfits. Go with your gut and don’t settle. Any SA worth their salt will appreciate you more, knowing you won’t settle or budge until you get exactly what you want. Sometimes they test you to see what they can get away with  good luck and can’t wait to see what you decide. I’m sure it will be perfect on you. Enjoy it in good health.
