Which ring?

Absolutely love the first one and worth the extra (I'm sure it's a lot) money. I agree with Angel9...the carved jade looks more like a fashion ring. Keep us posted!

It's still a lot of money to me for a non-event purchase (and in general!), but luckily it is wholesale so it's $3,200 vs. $12,000 retail.

As I was saying to Angel9, it didn't even occur to me that it may be perceived as a resin or some inexpensive material ring.

I've posted this in the Jade subforum too but thought I'd go "mainstream" too :p

Which do you think is better for a right hand ring (ring finger)? For reference, I have small hands and wear size 4. The seller asked one of her girls who wears a size 3 to model them for me. Both are lavender jadeite. One is a cabochon with 1.68 carats of VS1 F diamonds and the other is a carved peony with 18kt wild vine band.

I wonder if the peony (or both rings) would be too over the top for office, and just be an occasion ring.

Of course the diamond one is much more expensive too!!

Both are gorgeous !
On the first view, I had choosen the cabochon,
but seeing the rose ring (carved peony) at the finger.....I would go definately with the second ring.
Wow :tender::girlsigh:
And in my opinion it is okay to wear this beauty in the office.

I think the first one with the diamonds is more suited to everyday wear. The carved one is really large.

I've gotten mixed feedback about it being everyday, and most people saying it being more event/party. I think the carved one may a bit too big, especially on a small hand. I think I was caught on the uniqueness of it and peony being my favorite flower. But I think sparkle catches my heart more!

I think it depends on your office environment. If my colleagues wore jewelry and designer bags I would definitely wear mine more. Heck, I can't even get my colleagues to color their gray hair.

Here you go. I would definitely wear it casually to the office if my office mates wore jewelry.

Very nice!! Are those amethysts around the cabochon? Is it jadeite too? Thanks for the photo! Where do you usually wear it?

I used to be in an office with more jewelry and luxury bags when I was in a bank. Now I'm in a slightly different industry, so there is less of that.

It's lavender jade. I don't know much about jade vs. jadeite. Maybe you can educate me or maybe I should start visiting the Jade thread. Yes- those are amethysts and diamonds. I have matching earrings. The picture is dark. It's much lighter and brighter in person. This was at my cousin's bridal shower - a casual Sunday, summer afternoon. I work in investment banking but sadly the ladies aren't into luxury items.
