Personally I never go below H colour when I buy diamonds. So I'd pick G too. I agree with Contessa. Why not consider a slightly smaller stone in the Embrace setting? Embrace looks less "engagementy" than the Novo and i think a teenager will like it better than a plain Novo.
As for price increases, there's been already an increase worldwide for diamonds of certain carat sizes (up to 10% increase). I understand the smaller carat size increase will follow shortly.

bb10lue - Hoping to hear your opinion! I guess I shouldn't worry about my SA getting mad after bringing in the 2 Novos and then I change my mind. I'm afraid I might think the novos also look a little small in that size. I wonder how hard it would be to get a hold of a small Embrace.

And my jeweller also confirmed the diamond increase way back in the Spring, so you're "safe" for awhile!

. I tried on a .91ct Novo IRL, and felt it was a bit small and didn't stand out as much as I would've wanted, considering the price we're paying for a Tiffany diamond. Its really up to you though, what u like and what you are looking for...
Yes, my ering is a Tiffany classic solitaire 1.13ct. Im thinking about a shared-setting band as my wedding band, haven't had a chance to try it on though
(don't wanna get too excited as we haven't set a date yet)

Hokaplan, maybe you could bring a niece or someone's teenage daughter who appreciates jewellery and show her both Novo and Embrace, and ask her which she would prefer? As you know, teenagers live in a different universe and the way they view things is really beyond my comprehension. We old ladies think big is better but it may be the reverse for them!

Hokaplan, here are some Embrace prices for you (from mid-Nov. in Canadian dollars, so if you're in the US even though our dollars are at par, the Tiffany US prices are lower) :
.51 F VVS2 $9,400
I also tried on a .54 or .56 E VVS1 which was just over $12,000
IMO those prices are high but I'd recommend looking at VS1 or VS2. I'm biased because my e-ring is an Embrace but I think you should definitely take a look at it. Have your SA bring in a couple under .50 if they have any (that's their job!). The halo definitely makes it look much larger and it sparkles like crazy. My 15 yr old sister came ring shopping at Tiffany with me many times and her first choice was the Embrace.
